I booked a trip with a friend to travel the Lemosho route up Kilimanjaro in the summer of 2021. From the moment we arrived, we were well taken care of. We were met at the airport with a shuttle to the hotel, which was clean, modern, and comfortable. The staff there was attendant and it was the perfect place to spend the night before and after the hike. We were met by our guide and someone from the office to go over our trip. Our guide, Tumaini, went over our supplies and told us what we still needed. While avid day hikers, neither one of us had done multi-day treks like this. They made sure we were well equipped for a successful hike. The next day we went on a short safari which was a nice way to adjust to the climate after a long journey from New York. The following day we began our journey up to the summit. We were well taken care of all along with the way with two guides, many porters and a chef. The tent was comfortable (although I recommend a thicker pad or even an air mattress, if possible), the dining tent a great bonus and the meals were delicious. The guides were encouraging without being overbearing and kept us informed of our progress each day and made sure we were well fed and hydrated as well as healthy- checking our vitals each evening. I highly recommend this company as they made the journey so much easier having thought of everything to make the trip as comfortable and doable as possible on our budget (low to middle tier by our estimate).

From the time I got off the plane and walked out the airport, I was greeted by the driver , Jackson. He was polite, professional, and courteous. I was taken to the hotel where I had a nice dinner, shower , then went ti sleep in a very nice bed.
The guide and porters met me in the morning. and off we went up to the Umbwe gate. From there, Rayson was an excellent guide and was extremely helpful. He always checked on me showing me how to GO SLOW.. "Pole Pole" were his words..... Nimefika Uhuru!

Since day one Nikki always replied to all my emails asap and answered all my questions.
I changed several things and he never complained.
The whole crew was very polite and hard working. We really made a bond with all of them. Specially Rayson, he is a very well educated guide, he always gave the best advice, was always worried about us and always o top of the situation, leading the whole crew. We wouldn’t have made it without him. He was out guardian angel :)

It was once in a lifetime experience - climbing Kilimanjaro.
My husband and I decided to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and we went with climbing Kilimanjaro.com after reading numerous positive reviews. So glad we did because from the first enquiry with Nikki to the last drop off at Kilimanjaro Airport the service was exceptional. Nikki answered all our questions and put our minds to rest with any doubts we had. Jackson was waiting for us at the airport when we landed. The following day Mannesah came to the hotel to debrief us. We met our guide Roger at the Machame gate and knew straight away that we were in good hands and there started our incredible trek of Mount Kilimanjaro. Roger, his assistant guide Fredi and his team which he called the dream team were incredible. Primi cooked a variety of incredible meals for us. Muhamedi served them with a big smile. Our tent was always made by Emmanuel before we got to the camp and the port a loo which was a god send was set up at lunch stops and night stops by Kijiko. The other porters - Faraji, Ramadhani, Prosper, Juma, Faraji and Abduli were amazing carrying our duffel bags and other supplies daily, nothing was too much trouble and always smiling and giving encouragement every step of the way. Roger and Fredi were phenomenal and played a huge role in our summit success.
Their dedication and attention to ensuring our welcome, safety, security and satisfaction for the whole week of our hike up Kilimanjaro, was second to none. They are a formidable team and we could not have achieved our goal nor had such a memorable experience if it had not been for all of them.
We would highly recommend Climbing Kilimanjaro to our friends who want to undertake this adventure! Thank you all for a wonderful experience.

Me and 5 others climbed Kili in 6 days (don't recommend as its extremely strenuous) and did a 3 day safari with Climbing Kilimanjaro., We had an exceptional time and I commend every person in your organization that we dealt with. First and most important, the planning, organization, and flexibility from the main office side was impeccable. We couldn’t have been happier with our experience with you. Manassah, our high level contact in Tanzania was such a nice guy, and made us feel very comfortable with the whole experience. The hotels were great and gave us a nice break. Our guides/porters and the whole team were awesome. They catered to all of our issues with a smile, and pushed us to accomplish the summit which we did….barely. Overall, it was a trip of a lifetime and very grateful that we used Climbing Kilimanjaro. 10 stars all day. If you are exploring other tour groups....I can't imagine them getting any better than this one.

The service was excellent from the initial contact, online pre arangements, pick up at the airport up to the last moment. Be prepared for a long hike, the last day of the ascend using the Machame route is really exhausting and one needs a lot of mental power too. The staff is great though, they are helping throughout the trip, we would not make it without them and they want you to succeed!
100% for the agency and the guides, porters and the chef too!

From my initial contact with Nikki in the office to our climbing adventure, with Zara team, everything was great. Nikki in the office was always prompt in responding to my many emails, doubts and questions. The tips given particularly for the 8 weeks fitness program, gear and assurance were very important for our experience.
The hike was simply amazing besides the raining period we choose to go. Our guides Johny, Massa and James were very friendly, helpful and always pushing us to move forward (in safety!) in particularly during summit night to achieve our summit goal. All the logistic was perfect, porters and cooker were always taking care of everything to make our experience great besides the wet conditions on this raining period.
The food was always abundant and varied, and the tents and our private toilet were always in order.
We chose the standard package of the 7 days Machame route and everything fits my expectations. It is
The 7 days of hike were a tremendous experience and a daily enjoyment, but of course the summit night with all the adversities (cold, fatigue, lack of oxigene) and the arrival to the top of Africa was a lifetime unique moment, that couldn’t be possible without the support of the guides and the all team support.

From our initial contact with Adele to our send off certificate ceremony after the hike, everything was great. Adele was always prompt in responding to my many emails and questions. We were hesitant to book because they are not listed on Trip Advisor, but after checking with some of their references, we decided to book with them. Logistically, everything went great.

We booked the Deluxe package. Major differences included in the Deluxe Package are a nicer hotel in Arusha, private toilet and better meals. You definitely want a private toilet. The hotel is not a big deal. I don't know how the meals were better than the lower levels of hikes.

The driver was at the airport to pick us up and take us to the hotel. The hotel was fine. However, Arusha is far from the hike starting point. i would've preferred a hotel closer to the trail head. There is not much in Arusha to see or do. We stayed at the Rivertrees Lodge after the hike which was closer to the trail head. I'd recommend staying here instead.

The hike was great. There were only 2 of us, but we had 13 support staff. The porters were great. They had the camps set up by the time we got to the next site. Everything was in order.

The food was always abundant and varied. Charles, the main cook was very good. There was much more food than we could eat. Every breakfast included porridge. There was a variety of eggs, bacon, sausage, "pancakes" toast etc. Lunch & dinner always started with soup followed by a huge meal. Every meal was different with fresh meat vegetables and fruit. Only thing missing was dessert.

Our guide, John, was good. However, we felt he could've been more engaging. Assistant guide, Nelson, was very good. Salim, the "butler" always had a smile and was there to help.

It was the birthday for my partner while we were on the trip. I told Adele and she said that the crew would do something for that. When i mentioned this to John on the date, he did not know anything about it. Apparently there was a failure to communicate. John asked if he could do something the next day. The next day, the entire crew came into the dining tent singing and carrying a big decorated cake. They had called down to town and had a cake brought up to the camp!! This was quite a big surprise. They went out of their way to make the birthday special.

We both made it to the summit. Unfortunately it was during a snow storm. Hiking Kilimanjaro was not a dream for me, it was for my partner. However, I am glad for the experience.

What an amazing experience on such a beautiful mountain! It was my first time in an organised tour and at high altitude so I was a little nervous and didn’t know what to expect but the team made me feel at home and took care of everything! Myself and my teammate felt so spoilt. A massive, massive thank you to the porters, cooks and guides that made this trip memorable. You guys are incredible human beings! A special thanks to Roger and Freddy for looking after both of us as we both got sick on the mountain.

Everything, and I do mean everything, was outstanding.



Who knew what good food could be had while summiting a mountain? Always delicious and a varied menu.



The porters are such hard workers. When I lost something between Baranco Camp and Karanga Camp one of the porters, Freddy, said he remembered seeing it. He and another porter, Jumo, went all the back to retrieve it for me. Truly above and beyond.



Roger and Freddy guided me to the top and then found someone to film while they sang me Happy Birthday.



Back at camp my entire support staff then sang me Happy Birthday and presented me with a cake for all of us to enjoy.



This is a trip I will never forget with wonderful memories to last a lifetime. If I know of anyone looking to climb Kilimanjaro I'll be singing to companies praises.

I really had a great experience with using climbing Kilimanjaro, from the day I inquired until the last day! The whole team has been great, Adele, you are amazing, I sent you back and forth and you never got irritated with my indecisiveness. The team at the office that assisted with the rental gear, they even gave some tips about the climb and type of snacks I should get, the team in Tanzania was great too, the lady coordinator (I forgot her name) called me with all details and even when I was back from the mountain she stated that should I need anything at all while in Zanzibar I should not hesitate to call her.
The climb was an experience I will never forget, going all the way to summit Kilimanjaro with a group of strangers, I had my worries but Team TAM is the best, the guides (Salim, Michael and Peter) were reassuring all the time, believed in us, attended to us and also created great team spirit. The porters are our real heroes, there is no way the climb can happened without them and they served us well with a smile on their faces all the time, Ziggy, Alex and Omari kept us well fed with great food on the mountain. I cannot remember the other guys names but they were all fully present and made sure that all 7 of us made it to the top and back safely.
One thing that was a bit of an issues was my gaiters, the velcro is finished and does not attach properly but the guides assisted me daily putting them on, other than that, no complaints.

My friend and I did the 7-day Machame Route with ClimbingKilimanjaro.com; it was honestly such an incredibly life changing experience. We cannot say anything but positive things about this tour company.

Salim, Peter, and Michael went above and beyond. Their experience as guides and knowledge of the mountain were clear from the start; they were professional, enthusiastic, funny, and friendly throughout our 7-day trek (day and night!).

We were a group of seven hikers and it was obvious that our team’s safety was their primary concern. The combination of guides, porters and chefs (and now us!) made up TEAM TAM. They worked seamlessly together and far exceeded our expectations. Ziggy, Alex, and Omari (the cooking staff) were amazing. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were always delicious and filling. Ziggy was even able to make us homey meals like french fries and fried chicken! Salim had arranged for a FONDANT layered cake and non-alcoholic CHAMPAGNE to be brought up the mountain for one of our team member’s birthday celebrations. In addition, after each day’s hike, Team Tam’s porters would meet us just outside of the campsite (~10-15min away), to take our day bags and carry them for the remainder of our hike. Bear in mind, these porters had already run ahead of us, carrying our 20kg bags, our tents, our toilets, and other supplies (in addition to their own bags). They had finished setting up all of the tents and toilets… AND THEN ran back down to help us carry our day bags (always having smiles on their faces!). This was thoughtful and so appreciated! Having climbed an average of 5-7 hrs each day, the last bit always seemed to be the toughest. They were the only tour company that I noticed who did this. A really nice touch!

The entire team made the climb fun and enjoyable, despite the fact that most of us had difficulty breathing near the top and were totally exhausted. They did everything to help us summit: physically handing our water bottles to us to remind us to drink, carrying our bags for us when we looked exhausted, rubbing our hands to keep them warm, and encouraging us by singing to elevate our mood and energy. They also lugged an entire thermos full of hot water to the top of the mountain for us. It was because of Salim, Peter, Michael and the rest of Team Tam that ALL seven of us were able to summit together.

To top it all off, Charity (admin staff) called each and every one of us immediately after the trek to ask us personally how it went and if we had any concerns/issues that we wanted to voice.

It was a once in a lifetime experience. I don’t know how I will be able to top this adventure. TEAM TAM ALL THE WAY. One team, one dream. Non-stop, until the top. 💜

The 7 day Machame Route climb with Climbing Kilimanjaro was an amazing experience. Nikki was always helpful with prompt responses making my preparations easier even though I had to keep changing my plans several times. The climb itself was very well organized and exceeded my expectations. Rayson my chief guide was fantastic. He is a wonderful caring guy who was always looking out for my well being. His goal was to help me summit whilst ensuring I was safe all the way through. His experience as a guide and knowledge of the mountain was evident from the start and this was key to my success. The crew was great. They made sure I was very well looked after and their service was beyond expectations. I did not expect the food to be so good on the mountain. Most of all they made the climb fun and enjoyable. I had a great time and an experience of a life time. Thank you very much Rayson and crew.

I had an exceptional trip in Kilimanjaro, tough but it was quite enjoyable. Thanks for the exceptional service we received from the crew in particular Freddy and Bariki, these guys are an asset. The rest of the crew were exceptional, the chef the waiter and the rest of the support was beyond my expectation. My only worry is the occupational safety issues of porters and this will mostly be due to the fact that as a trade unionist those are fundamental issues that I will always propagate. More can be done to make sure the porters have basic safety gear to meet the inherent challenges of the mountain. Over and an above that I give you guys 10 out of 10.

We did the 8 day lemosho route, 5 out of 5 made it to the summit SAFELY. Nelson and his crew was awesome, start to finish. You won't regret picking this company to fulfill your dreams!

We had a team of 7 successfully summit Kilimanjaro via the Machame route. Our trip was truly amazing! The climb for our team was successful and really enjoyable. The entire team who took care of us exceeded our expectations. We started planning the trip over a year ago and the entire process from beginning to end was incredibly smooth. Our guides and porters made us feel at home and did everything they could to make us comfortable. The food was increadible and our camps were always so nicely set up. I would highly recommend using your company for a climb to any friend or family who would like to make the trip.

Just came back from the 7 day Machame route (1-7 September 2019). The trip has been amazing, from planning through to execution. The Climbing Kilimanjaro team has made everything easy and went out of their way to make the whole trip as comfortable as possible. I have the utmost respect to both the porters and the guides. This trip would not have been possible without them. We have been treated like royalty to the point where I really felt guilty sitting back. We have been looked after with care and interest from the team. Then the food….oh my, the food. The chefs impressed us with the variety and quality of food offered so much so that “eat BIG” was not a difficult task. I have actually gained some extra weight from this trip 😊. Unfortunately, one of our dearest members could not summit with the team due to health concerns. The chief guide, David, acted professionally and swiftly in assisting the member back to safety for proper care. Hats off to the guide and porters for transporting our team member quickly off the mountain. Overall, I have had an awesome experience and many fond memories. Thank you! I highly recommend Climbing Kilimanjaro to anyone looking for a tour company to realize their bucket list item in the adventures they offer.

I just came back from the six day Machame Route with my 20 year old daughter. We couldn't be happier with the experience. The level of luxury was outstanding. On the first day, we saw every other group sitting on rocks eating sandwiches for lunch. Our team pulled out a table with tablecloth and chairs and served us a three course hot meal. More importantly, the whole team, led by our guides, really cared about our comfort and safety. I got a little sick on day four. The guides closely monitored me the rest of the trip and happily offered to carry my day pack the rest of the trip. The support staff was top notch as well. Questions by e-mail were always answered quickly. They met us both before and after the hike to make sure that we were satisfied with everything. I've been on other similar trips in my youth. None compare to this level of service.

The 9 day Lemosho Route with summiting Uhuru Peak was a great experience for us. 4 out of 4 climbed Uhuru Peak. John and his team made this experience to a big success for us. We cannot state how helpful and friendly the whole team was. Under really difficult circumstances they supplied a fantastic service to us. They have been very professional and client driven. We have always felt safe and very much individually taken care. The food was excellence, their motivation to/for us and their whole effort, too.
