Clydebuilt Windows & Doors Reviews 

Was told this through the help to buy windows scheme. At first everything seemed fine. Sales guys came out, think one was Michael but he was just shadowing the other guy who was doing the main pitch. Was given the usual chat. After bring informed it would only be an hour, it turned into 3. Decided to go with them, did it so we would pay up monthly and told credit checks were fine, so we paid the admin fee of £399. Only for me to then get an email saying credit checks hadn't gone through which is strange cause husband's credit is high. Then told oh it'll be refunded tomorrow. That was 23rd September last year, numerous emails and excuses from them from people off sick to problems with the accounting team. Finally got refunded in November last year. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Payed £799 deposit for 2 doors. cancelled on 26th January 2026 phoned after 21 working days about refund. 33working days and several phone calls still no refund

I had a door &3 windows done in August the 2 guys worked hard but i am afraid they can’t fit windows or doors the glass in my living room had to be changed 4 times before it was satisfactory and i mean satisfactory and no more,the bedroom window was scratched and had to be replaced,they turned up on one of the with all the wrong kit, burst the wall when removing my door, they burst the wall when removing my bedroom window and my door is not installed plumb.I would not recommend this company to anyone they don’t even return calls all they do is tell you somebody will call you back but that never happens,my opinion is they don’t employ any trades people being a tradesmen myself i can see what is right and what is wrong.STAY CLEAR

Wouldn’t even give 1 star. Avoid this company like the plague. My 80 year old mum sat through 3 hours of hard sell then signed and never noticed part at the bottom giving permission for quick access under 7 days so when she cancelled they have refused to get her the deposit of £1300 back saying that they have ordered the material. This is a hard sell company who are using this so called “clause” to swindle money out of people.

I received a visit from a sales rep from Clydebuilt who was helpful and polite if a little heavy on the transparent sales tactics. When he ‘called the office’ to finalise the quote, they clearly weren’t aware I could hear the member of staff on the phone who proceeded to randomly belittle and make fun of me even though I’d never spoken to him, making the sales rep visibly uncomfortable even before he knew I could hear. Every reason I gave to confirm I wouldn’t be making a choice today received a cheeky, disrespectful and sometimes bizarre answer from phone guy (I think his name was Tom), with him trying to employ comically manipulative sales tactics including the interest rate somehow going from 12.9% to 0% by, I guess, magic. I found the whole thing funny to be honest, and satisfying in telling the sales guy that literally nothing could make me go with Clydebuilt after that nutso experience in my own hallway. But the fact that the government ‘partners’ with them for Home Energy Scotland is extremely concerning.

Very pleased with my windows and service. Very nice and knowledgeable salesman, we were booked in quickly and the windows were done in a few days, the workmen were very friendly and cleaned up thoroughly after themselves. Really happy with the end result, we have a much warmer home. Would highly recommend.

Salesman Stephen came out talked us through all the styles, designs and showed us sample, the quality of the window was really impressive and after a fair price for the quality we decided to go ahead,

Eddie and his team came out to install the windows and doors and done a great job, boys were neat and tidy, in and out within 2 days with very little mess, couldn’t recommend enough

The worst company ever.
Keep away from them.
After instalation zero contact with them.
The repairs under the guarantee is impossible, they ignore the clients.
I'm waiting 7 months for the repairs and still don't have any dates.

In response to a general advert in January about government finance help towards new windows a representative from Clydebuilt Windows and Doors was sent to us. We were very impressed with what we heard and signed up for 5 large windows. Later that evening we realised we had broken a number of our own rules about signing up for any 'big' project so next morning we cancelled. CBWD accepted our reasons and our deposit arrived yesterday on the day as promised. Email and phone communications have all been courteous, professional and efficient. Well done CBWD!

I experienced this company under another name as they have numerous times,October 2024 I purchased £4.800 worth of outfits for roofing and in March 2025 I was told they were in liquidation, told I would get my money back in payments if i didn't put anything up on social media, I did put a rant up after 6 months of stress and a break down when not paid, and then was contacted to say I have broken the agreement, ,so i agreed to take it down, I've not received anything from this Clydebuilt Phenix company, who rebuild under the same address and telephone number, this horrible experience happened in October 2024 and still have not received a penny back of my money

Our experience with Clydebuilt Windows & Doors has been extremely disappointing from start to finish.
Since the installation, our home is noticeably colder, with significant draughts coming through several of the new windows worse than when we previously had old wooden frames. This is clearly unacceptable. When we raised concerns during installation, we were repeatedly told that everything was “normal” and “fine".
While two members of the installation team (Justin and Jamie) were professional, the overall workmanship was poor. The draughty windows were installed by an apprentice, and our concerns were dismissed rather than properly investigated.
The standard of cleanliness was also very poor. It took us over two hours to clean our home inside and out after the work was completed. No shoe protectors were worn, resulting in additional carpet cleaning costs, which should never be the customer’s responsibility.
The sales process was equally frustrating. The sales representative, Paul, stayed nearly three hours instead of the promised one, repeatedly interrupting my working-from-home schedule. He was over familiar, spoke over us consistently, and focused more on personal anecdotes than providing clear, concise information. We asked repeatedly for a straightforward cost breakdown, but instead experienced over-promising and under-delivering. Even the installation team commented that the sales department appears disconnected from the realities of installation.
We chose this company based on its association with a Scottish Government recommendation, which makes this experience all the more concerning. After numerous failed attempts to contact their after care team we feel we have no other choice but to contact the Ombudsman and also legal advice. Overall, this has been a stressful, time-consuming, and costly experience, and not one we would recommend based on our experience. They take your money, provide a very poor service and then ghost you. Avoid at all costs!

Really happy with the work that has been done. 2 doors installed in half a day, no mess or fuss boys just got on with the job.

Over all really happy with the service, couple of small issues originally with installation as I have a really old property, but my guarantee was issued straight away and company was back within 2 days just to fix the last couple of finishing touches around cills and surrounds.

Now that it’s all finished I’m delighted with the work and how quickly was finished off, it’s made a real difference to the house.

Our windows are great , really well built frames are broader & more robust than the ones we had taken out. Look fantastic & you can feel a difference in temperature once installed.
The installation was very good boys never stopped till the windows were all installed.
