I was looking at this company website…
I was looking at this company website and the name appears to be “CMD – Certified Moissanite Diamonds.” This terminology is misleading. A stone is either moissanite or diamond; it cannot be both.
In addition, the seller claims: “Lab Grown – Chemically identical to mined diamonds, grown with precision.” However, the products being sold appear to be moissanite, not lab-grown diamonds. Moissanite is silicon carbide, while diamond is carbon. Therefore, moissanite is not chemically identical to mined or lab-grown diamond.
The seller also describes some jewelry as “18K gold.” However, the items appear to be 18K gold vermeil over sterling silver. Although this is disclosed in the product description, the disclosure is less prominent and may easily be missed by many.
