This was a lifechanging experience
This was a lifechanging experience, it opens your eyes to a new world and pushes you closer to the edge of your abilities! Best choice I made in a while!
Great course, with amazing supports to help you every step of the way
Ive just completed my Diploma in Full Stack Software Development with Code Institute. I found the course to be challenging at times and the learning curve quite steep, once the basics were completed. But there's no reason why anyone could not complete the course when they can set aside the time and dedication it requires. I was a chef for 13 years before I started this course and now I'm a software intern at a leading tech company with the prospect of being promoted to an associate role at the end of the internship. Without this course that would not have been possible.
Code Institute has a team of dedicated tutors waiting to help you at every step and each student gets linked with their own mentor, who works in industry and who's guidance is invaluable through each of your projects.
Overall I've had a great experience with Code Institute over the past year and through their Full Stack Software Development Course I have been given the tools to change my career and build a solid foundation as a Software Engineer.

I learnt more from ChatGPT than I ever did from code institute. At its core this is £6000 for an online course of prerecorded videos. Do you think it’s worth it?

Taking part iAn Empowering and Unforgettable Hackathon Experiencen this month’s Code…
Taking part in this month’s Code Institute Hackathon was one of the most exciting and inspiring experiences in my tech journey so far.
What truly stood out was the incredible support from mentors, the well-structured organization, and the collaborative, encouraging spirit that filled every moment. Our team felt seen, challenged, and uplifted — and I’m incredibly proud to share that we won first place! 🏆
Code Institute offers so much more than technical training — they foster a real community. This hackathon was a perfect example of that. I highly recommend participating to anyone looking to grow their skills, build confidence, and connect with like-minded peers.
What I like here, connecting or networking people together. Learn new Technology and technics and above all have fun
I had super experience of working or networking with different kinds of people , different opinions and different interests.
Grateful to be one of Code Institute family
Joining Code Institute has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my career. The Full Stack Software Development diploma is structured, practical, and incredibly supportive. The course material is up-to-date and relevant, and the student support, from mentors to career services is outstanding.
I especially loved the hackathons and community events, which provided real-world experience and the chance to collaborate with amazing fellow students. It’s more than just a course, it’s a gateway to a whole new tech career.
Highly recommend for anyone looking to switch careers or break into tech!

It was easy enough to follow.
Loved everything about it... but one thing....
I honestly loved everything about it, but - not the way each new part of an exercise lost the code I'd been working on, reverting to the tea recipe 😆 I had taken the initiative to make my own recipe/images/icons but I kept losing it. So, I would go back and copy and paste from the last section and it worked 🤗 That was honestly my only issues!

For someone with little to no coding knowledge or experience...
If you're someone like me who was looking to learn coding to build my own websites & fix issues I've come across then I would recommend you give it a go. I did the Full Stack Developer course, and it was a huge commitment that takes a lot of learning. At times I really did feel like it was impossible and I'd never get the hang of it, but I honestly surprised myself and got through it.
There is support to reach out to, weekly cohort online meet ups, mentor sessions as well as access to past students projects to help along the way.
For someone with little to no coding knowledge or experience it's a great course (just be prepared to put in the hours and feel like an imposter half way through 🙈😂) and there's plenty of other resources online that you can find help from when you get stuck or something just doesn't make sense.
Overall I'd a great albeit stressful year doing the course and I'm delighted I challenged myself

With little to no experience in coding it was a great insight into the world of coding completing the 5 step coding challenge, I really enjoyed doing it and it has furthered my interest in pursuing coding and a career change. I would definitely recommend doing the 5 step coding challange

I recently took the 5 day challenge for Full Stack Developer along with a handful of others from around Europe.
The following is my assessment of this experience, of Code Institute, and the way forward as I see it.
We had a shared slack group with a host and the challenge itself was delivered in daily pieces by way of slack introduction and a browser based interface. It's then a mixture of instructional videos followed by hands on activities closely based on the videos, and the code itself is provided but with gaps for you to complete. Buttons to Test then Submit, with AI deciding if you're good.
Each day is meant to be roughly an hour of work depending on your previous experience. Code Institute promotes absolute coding beginners do the course. It would take them longer and one or two of the group struggled although eventually got the idea and completed the course. I myself have previous other coding experience and found it fun but very easy. But it's a taster and I can't say I didn't learn anything though. It made me more likely to continue with this provider and I gained confidence with this tech.
Code Institute appears to be a reasonable provider and although the provider themselves may or may not impress a potential employer, they will know what Ofsted Outstanding means, links to BCS, and accreditation by a Scots University defines the course (as EQF level 5 which apparently is equivalent to a 2nd year degree module).
The next step would be to talk to their advisory and sales staff about doing the full course and they offer links to arrange this.
Having looked at their course content and looked at many of the full stack jobs available, the contents looks appropriate for an entry level job, with many of the buzz words reflected as long as you don't want Microsoft training. Your portfolio looks to be critical and the organised hackathons will probably help further if you do these.
My conclusion is that the challenge is a really good introduction, the provider has done a lot to qualify themselves and their course to employers that I could put in a CV, and course content is in line with other providers, their conversion of graduates to jobs is very high (98% within a year of graduation we're told) and their delivery looks pleasant.
So far so good then.
However, given that I have previous experience, it's likely I won't make full use of the careers support, I'd take the learning without too much need for mentoring or tutoring from a human (Google is your friend), there is no actual guarantee of a job (no job placement, just support with CVs and suggestions, and events), and the costs are very high.
So then, it's a nice soft landing but I think for me personally, I'll approach this another way.
For an actual beginner who will need more support, assuming Code Institute do actually provide it as they say, you might consider the cost as a good price to pay to get into a high paying industry with plenty of headroom as your experience grows.
From Total Beginner to Tech Job: My Life-Changing Experience with Code Institute
When I decided to transition into the technical world, I knew I needed a course that was fast-paced, up-to-date, and designed to get real results. After extensive research, I found Code Institute—and it didn’t just meet my expectations, it exceeded them by a mile.
What stood out immediately was their thoughtful approach to onboarding: a free 5-day coding challenge and access to sample materials helped me assess whether the course would fit into my life. That alone showed they genuinely care about their students’ success right from the start.
Code Institute is university-accredited and highly reputable, with a strong focus on practical, hands-on learning. You’re not alone on the journey: from a vibrant student community and weekly cohort calls to a personal mentor and responsive support team, you're surrounded by people rooting for your success.
Make no mistake—this course is challenging. You have to meet your targets and stay committed. But the rewards are incredible. From being a complete newbie, I built five fully functional websites. And what is the most incredible, I landed a job in a technical company before graduating!
If you’re looking for a solid, supportive, and practical path into tech, I couldn’t recommend Code Institute more.

A Transformative Learning Experience with Code Institute
I recently completed the Full Stack Development course with Code Institute, and it has been a truly transformative experience. The course provided me with in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in software development, from HTML and CSS to the latest frameworks and technologies.
One of the standout aspects of Code Institute is the exceptional learning content and materials, which were comprehensive and well-structured. The support from the community was incredible; whenever I faced an issue, there was always someone ready to help.
Beyond the technical skills, I gained a network of amazing people from different countries, all with the same goal of mastering full-stack development. A special shout-out to the supportive team, especially Ion, who was always there to assist.
I highly recommend Code Institute to anyone looking to dive into software development. It’s not just a course but a community that supports you every step of the way.
Thank you, Code Institute, for this incredible journey!
Great learning experience
After a long time of trying to fix bugs whilst creating more, self doubt blood sweat and tears (it wasn't that dramatic actually). I feel Code Institute has provided me with a strong foundation of skills to manage to land a job in tech, Hackathons were and still are a great boost of confidence and knowledge.
