An absolutely fantastic platform! My son started to use it when he was 9 and he absolutely loves it! Now, a year after, we are applying for a lifetime subscription with both – Minecraft and Roblox!... See more

Filtering is Jacked

The filtering is really frustrating. The zombie spawn game I had to switch to epic mode to figure it out. Then on the dev tycoon right off the bat the filtering options did not show up. Cool concept but I shouldn't have to use epic mode. Especially when I'm just learning.

You also removed the infinite mining which I was looking forward to. All the games are single player too which is weird to me because Roblox is multiplayer. Please add more about saving player info and an option to enable all code block items in tutorials.

***EDIT (response to your reply)

Thank you for your reply! I do give you guys a 5 star on support and getting back in a timely fashion to all help requests I made on your website. I also really enjoyed the tutorial videos. Lana was entertaining and easy to understand.

Let me clarify what I mean about jacked blocks. The ones I am referring to are not blocks like object = update. They are blocks that represent children or custom functions that are present in the project template but do not show up when doing something like Build a Block. In the Game Dev Tycoon (which I just finished but had to use Epic Mode multiple times) Here are a few of the issues:

#1
At the end the video (Chapter 2) it says to test the game and see all the game carts spawn. This does not happen for me. I put a print in to test when a game cart spawns and they only spawns 1 time for each dropper. After completing chapter 4 i was able to use the GamePrice block I couldn't use previously. So I went back where I had used epic mode to insert it in Chapter 2, I deleted my version and was now able to drag in the GamePrice block. This caused the droppers to start spawning continuously.

#2
In Chapter 5 it wants me to build a child:Unbuild() block but Child is not listed as block I can choose.

#3
Still Chapter 5 on the Collector Reset method it will not list Unbuild() when Building a Block. I get self.FirstButton and then it just lists clone, destroy and object and Parent 2 times each.

The earlier tutorials did not give me any of these problems. I only started to get frustrated on Zombie Spawn moving forward.

Thanks!

Reply from Code Kingdoms

Thank you for your review and sorry about the trouble with code filtering. Hopefully I can explain the problem and provide some solutions so you don't keep experiencing this on Code Kingdoms 🙂.

Whenever a chapter in a course completes it unlocks the blocks for the next chapter for you. If you can't find the code blocks you are looking for, then you have not completed the previous chapter correctly 😞.

Two things might be happening:

1.) If the chapter hasn't quite ticked off (you can see in the top right) check the hints / follow the article attached. This will show the blocks you need, but faded out (as they've for the "next" chapter).

2.) If you can't see the blocks full stop, that means your variables might be missing or named slightly wrong. The editor is very particular with names, so make sure they're spelt exactly right 😎.

The following guide can explain how to resolve these problems in-depth 💪.
https://faq.codekingdoms.com/en/articles/2188913-why-won-t-the-chapter-complete

All code blocks are unlocked once you complete a course or create a custom project. I hope that helps!

Best program and fantastic support team

My son has learnt so much using the program. He is now creating codes for his older brothers so they can play together.

Customer service is amazing, we had a few problems to begin with not the system just my son making small code errors but the support team were amazing with him. Talking him though ideas and coaching him about value of making errors and learning how to correct them. I highly recommend CK

Excellent, but documentation to be improved

I think its a great product, we tried with the kids for a month and then bought the life license, the video tutorials are done very nicely, but apart from that there is no other proper documentation which is the main weakness, after a request we have received a pdf with a list of functions, with no proper descriptions. Once they improve the documentation 5stars
