Top Notch Team

I was a broker on a deal with my borrower Eddie (leaving his last name off for his privacy). This was a smooth process from start to finish. My loan officer Bill Koder is a phenomenal communicator, my loan processor Ernest Mendez worked tirelessly to get me the needs lists, and pushed this loan through to closing. Haley Bakken the underwriter worked through underwriting fast and efficient, gave clear needs and worked with me to get this through to underwriting. The Director of Cogo Capital, Andrew Benton was instrumental in closing this deal as he was able to give a quick and definitive answer if Cogo would help me close this loan. Shout out to Cheryl Myers for working on the closing Docs so quickly and efficiently and for Jaclyn Olsen for assigning the funds so fast.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We apologize for the lack of communication since December 16th. This is not the experience we want you to have. We are looking into the matter and will be in touch promptly to provide an update on the next steps.

LAUGHABLE !!! I have not heard from anyone to provide an update. Whatever decent reviews are left for this company have got to be from people they pay to write positive reviews. I literally hired a dumpster, movers, and had my daughter drive up from FL and take a weekend off work to clean out the house because I had a WRITTEN CONTRACT to buy my house. Do not think that I have not hired an attorney.
Please believe I am a regular person who has had an awful experience. The " salesperson " they sent out to my house was so communicative until I signed...then CRICKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be careful always upselling.

First came across Cogo Capital in the mid-summertime 2025. My wife and I were pitched a $25,000 program with all the bells and whistles.
It was very hard to say no. They basically turned what should have been a 1-hour call into almost 2 hours. Really laying it on thick it but I have to give the guy credit because he did show off some of the programs. I declined and the guy still wanted to a deal together.
Ended up "shopping" around having just got into REI. Wanted to get some second opinions and learn more about options and resources available out there. Back to that later in this story.
Around Aug/Sept I saw a Cogo Capital e-mail on getting a proof of funds letter for $12. Don't recall whether I paid or not but I was convinced in paying $200.00 for a pre-qual letter. I was promised the world, and the salesmen/loan analyst was convincing and made it sound like we were going to do a deal. Too his credit he did send me an assessment form, but I can make better ones on Biggerpockets.
In a week or 2 I sent around a dozen assessments and only received 2 responses. The few times I tried to call him he was either never available or too busy to talk for longer than 1 minute. Sent more requests and made another call or 2 never heard back.
Eventually I called the company and a lady answered she was pretty helpful she ended up telling me the loan analyst no longer worked there. Gave me some numbers, called those guys up but didn't hear anything. In the meantime, all those properties I assessed were either sold or pending.
By the grace of God, that's another thing they claim to be big into Christianity, so much so the new guy I talked with has a religious advocacy as an e-mail signature. So as always, I was telling the new advisor my situation. He then 'recommended" me to a "financial advisor".Up until this point everyone I talked to from Cogo Capital was nice and generally didn't rub me the wrong way.
She called me up and asked about my residual and passive income and told her something in a range. She said something along the line of "that's not a lot at all" she said that gloves came off. Put it this way I was very critical of everything she said at that point. At one point I had to return the favor, she mentioned about getting all my financial information to make a plan. My response "that's what my financial advisors does". She definitely got offended we didn't argue but it was clear we weren't a good fit a lot of back and forth. She wanted to have another conversation. Denied the invitation not too long after and she never responded she probably knew the writing on the wall.
Told the guy who "recommended" that individual it won't work. Of course he took her side didn't expect anything different. So now I'm so discouraged doing business with these characters.
In closing with that shopping around comment earlier, I have come across plenty of private money lenders that don't try to upsell you into a five figure "education" program. I give 2 stars in the end all I lost was 200 dollars and a couple months. So glad my wife and I didn't pay that $25000. Still have 2 months left until that prequal expires but they will try to upsell me again. What you do with your money is your choice. Before you put a lot of hard earned on the line really give it some thought before signing a contract. Try ChatGPT you'd be surprised what you can learn on your own. Good Luck

Very problematic loan successfully completed

This was a challenging loan close. There were a lot of ways it could have gone side ways. But it closed and things worked out. Cogo has good programs that fill a need. Things aren't always smooth but that is true of any loan.

Private Money Lending Course...Don't Go There!

I bought the private money lending course. The sales pressure was intense. Despite knowing my money situation, they only cared about me maxing out my credit card to pay $10k. I was then pressured to hire a virtual assistant and coach for $7k which was money thrown down the toilet. Finally they pressured me to hire a professional for taxes and LLC formation. It is not hard to figure out tax on $0.00!! They had the nerve to ask for another $7k for a virtual assistant. I wish I had NEVER come in contact with this company!

***UPDATE‼️ **BEWARE – READ BEFORE ENROLLING**

***UPDATE‼️ **BEWARE – READ BEFORE ENROLLING** ‼️
🚨 Consumer Warning – Secured Investment Corp. / Lee Arnold System/COGO Nation/ COGO Capital 🚨

I paid $67,500 for their “Master Broker Program” after being told I could broker directly to their affiliate in California and keep my full fees. After payment, I was told that wasn’t true, I’d have to route deals through their coach and split fees. The training recordings they promised were also never delivered. They also told us we would have the opportunity to attend live auctions during our 4-day in-person training. When I scheduled my 4-day, I was told by Nicole that they don't know when the live auctions are, so they can't guarantee that. It was just another sales tactic in my opinion.

When I asked for a refund, they admitted in writing they’d pay me back only if I signed a release that gagged me, forced me to edit reviews to say I was “satisfied,” and waived my rights to ever bring future claims, even if new wrongdoing came to light.

This isn’t a refund. It’s coercion.

I’ve filed complaints with the BBB, DFPI, FTC, and the Attorneys General of California and Idaho. SIC is holding my money hostage while trying to sanitize their public record. They are earning interest on my money(that they never planned to give me) and plan to hold my funds indefinitely or until I sign their agreement.
⚠️ If you’re considering doing business with them: research lawsuits, read reviews carefully, and understand what you’re signing. Don’t let them silence you. Don't let them use their 3-day refund policy against you. The refund policy only covers products not services. Read carefully and request your money back.
Don't let them bully you. Contact an attorney. These people will stall and ignore you while they earn interest on your money that they never plan to give to you.
I recommend you record the live webinars yourself. They aren't going to give you a copy of the webinars as promised. The recordings I got was at least 5-10 years. They don't want you to have leverage because they say a lot in those classes. They even give out tax advice and aren't qualified to do so. They are the only ones who will have access to the live recordings and phone calls. RECORD THEM YOURSELF. CYOB.
You will also notice that they don't let the students network. They won't turn on the chat during the webinars. They don't want us talking to each other or exchange information. This is the only mentorship I've joined that doesn't allow the students to network.

***UPDATE: SIC has already offered me a refund of $67,500, and at one point even offered to return all $74,298.97 I paid in total, which demonstrates that they themselves recognize the legitimacy of my claims. If this were a purely contractual matter, they would not be offering any refund.
The problem is that SIC is conditioning any refund on illegal terms, including:
Gag clauses requiring me to edit or withdraw public reviews and formal complaints so they read as “resolved to all parties’ satisfaction.”
Broad waivers of rights under California Civil Code §1542, blocking me from pursuing future claims even if new wrongdoing comes to light.
Confidentiality clauses prohibiting me from disclosing the refund terms, amount, or negotiations, with repayment and damages threatened if they allege a breach.
These practices are not “contractual disputes.” They are unfair and deceptive acts that:
Violate the Consumer Review Fairness Act (15 U.S.C. §45b) by restricting honest consumer reviews.
Constitute unfair or deceptive acts or practices (UDAP) under both Idaho and California consumer protection statutes.
Demonstrate a pattern of coercion, holding consumer funds hostage unless customers agree to unlawful restrictions.
My formal complaint is that SIC is tying consumer refunds to illegal conditions. This is a business practice that I believe deserves regulatory scrutiny, not just dismissal as a private contract matter.

Great service with my Loan Analyst

My name is Dale Williams, owner of Investment Capital Solutions, LLC. I've had the awesome privilege of working with the very best loan analyst I know in the business. It has been a great pleasure to work with Abie Cole, she's a true professional who gets things done quickly and accurately to move loans through the process. It's no wonder that she has received a recent promotion. While I will miss working with her, I'm happy for her as she moves to a new level with the company. Worst lender ever!!

It is impossible to get a loan from them.
Don't lose money like I and my friends. You will never get a loan from them. They will promise you big numbers, but in reality, the way they make money is by scamming people. They have never closed a loan yet.
All 5 stars you see are fake and paid reviews.
