I withdrew some money. After hitting "preview" i noticed a accidentally hit "instant" which has a huge fee. So I think selected the "source" (withdrawal acct) and reselected '1-3 day" which is free. It now showed me the withdrawl of the full amount. Hit withdraw, email confirmation I am charged the fee. Coinbase support told me "whatever you select in preview is what goes through" even though the UI allows you to change it and shows you a confirmation of not charging you. $262.50 stolen.

I am sixty three years old. I have been investing for a time in stocks and bonds the usual things. Cryptocurrency was new to me so I started small with Coinbase. That was a mistake.
Two months ago out of nowhere Coinbase froze my account. They locked up thirty five thousand pounds of my money. There was no reason for this. They just made some accusation about fraud but they did not provide any evidence or explanation.
What really makes me angry is that Coinbase still allowed me to deposit money into my account. They still let me buy and sell cryptocurrency on their platform. They still let me receive cryptocurrency that other people sent me.. I was not allowed to transfer my money out or withdraw it. I was not allowed to move my money to else. That does not feel like security to me it feels like a trap.
I tried everything to get help from Coinbase. I submitted support tickets sent emails and used their chat feature. Every time I got a person who did not know anything about my problem. I had to explain everything from the beginning. At my age I do not have the energy for that kind of thing. My blood pressure was very high.
After weeks of getting I reached out to Poma Advisory for help. I will be honest getting my thirty five thousand pounds back was not easy. It took time, paperwork and a lot of patience. In the end they were able to help me get all of my money
My advice, to Coinbase is to train their support team. They should give people one person to talk to when there is an issue that is not getting resolved. If they really suspect fraud they should. Freeze the entire account or not freeze it at all. They should not let people keep depositing money while blocking withdrawals. That is not protecting anyone it is holding peoples money hostage.
Would I recommend Coinbase? Absolutely not. If you are stuck like I was do not waste months waiting around. Get help. Poma Advisory made a difference for me. I will never use Coinbase again. Coinbase is not a choice. I do not think anyone should use Coinbase.
This card is the worst card I have ever had. The good things about this card is that I earn crypto and its a metal card. That is where the good things stop. I use the card then pay it off, the payments take up to 5 days to clear. So I have a card that I paid that declines every time eventhough the card has been paid in full. This is embarrassing enough. I call customer service and guess what, its not helpful in any way. They are not set up to be able to help in any way because its though American express. I call American Express and they can't help because its a coinbase problem. So I'm left with money that I'm unable to use for a long time. This is frustrating and I really expected more from coinbase. I am left with no other option but to stop using this card all together because of its unrealistic management. I was hoping this card was going to be my new favorite but its just a dud.

I was scammed by several online investing companies. Rineplex, Blockchain, and recovery lawyers;
1 Rineplex; Valentijn van Gelderen (fake name) manager from Rineplex
2 person from Blockchain
Vervolgens; zogenaamde recovery lawyers
J. P (Lex Legal)
A.S(solicitors Regulating Authority)
M.G (Justice and Right)
A.A a woman who claims to be: the head of the refund department of Coinbase.
They all had the same stories. They could trace the money. They even showed documents to see that the money was found. But to withdraw that money i had to proof my liquidity. I paid more than 10.000 euro to make this happen In the end all my money was gone or not available.
I know I'm not the only victim. This has happened with a lot of people.
I reported it to the Police, Fiod en Fraudehelpdesk. Hope this will not go on.

I’m satisfied with Coinbase. As a beginner in crypto the app helped me a lot to learn about crypto, make little investments and transfers in certain conditions. Although Crypto is still improving, is a good alternative when you need to trade cryptocurrencies.

I am extremely disappointed with Coinbase's automated and incompetent support. I opened my account less than 6 months ago, yet I recently received an email stating that my account has been closed because it was "restricted for more than 3 years" due to inactivity.
This is factually impossible and shows a complete lack of synchronization in their database. How can an account be inactive for 3 years when it didn't even exist back then? To make matters worse, my Coinbase plastic cards are still working, even though the main account is supposedly "closed."
It seems their system is glitchy and their support just sends template lies instead of looking at the actual registration date. If you value your time and want a reliable exchange that knows how to count, stay away from Coinbase.

If I could give a minus 10 I would. They have had me frozen for 2 months with never giving a specific reason. Just accusing me of potential fraud. But they will still allow me to deposit funds, buy and sell their crypto, receive transferred in crypto but I can not transfer out.

Be careful from this scammers. They take 86000 usdt from my wallet. And blaming me that I send it to wrong wallet. But in 5 days I tried to transfer about 10 transfers. Non of them receive. Run away they speaking with you as fca agent. If someone wants I can provide photos to approve all. Last week, an agent contacted me who introduced herself as Bianca Benedetti and said she was FCA. She asked me to download the Coinbase and Base wallet apps. There I was presented with an amount of 86,000 USDT. She guided me step by step on how to transfer the amount from Base wallet to Bit2Me. The base showed that the transfer was approved after a few hours. Hello, it didn't work. I contacted Bit2Me and asked what was going on, why didn't I see my money? They said it was all part of a scam and that they didn't receive a single cent!!!!! I asked Bianca to return the amount to Base wallet and that's what happened. The money appears in a second, but without being able to do anything with it. At this point, I already understood that Bianca is a scammer on your behalf and nothing came of it. Of course, in all these days I was accused by more than five or six of your chat representatives that I entered the password incorrectly, which is a lie in itself. I know how to transfer money between wallets and I also transferred it to see where the mistake was. You're not here, you're trying to steal 86,000 from me, but don't worry, you're already being handled by the authorities. Instead of stealing, you'll learn how to earn money yourself. This is not the way to steal from people who are trying to invest!!!!!!

I used coinbase for almost 10 years. Recently signed up for their credit card and also paid for an entire year of coinbase one since they offered me a discount. Out of nowhere they locked my account. After more than 20 hours they still have not refunded my almost $3,000 that I paid for my coinbase one yearly account. I even went to the credit card and was transferred to a dial tone 5 times. They literally teach their employees to not help. It is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. I paid for something and they did not provide it and are not giving me my money back. Do not trust them even a little.
Look what these complete and utter liars responded to me with.
Hi Avi,
I wanted to follow up with you directly to provide a complete and transparent update on your account, as I want to make sure you have full clarity on where things stand and what remains available to you at this time.
Regarding Your Account Access
While I understand the restrictions on your account have been a source of significant frustration, I want to make sure you are aware of what you are still fully able to do within your Coinbase account. Your account remains active, and you retain the ability to buy, sell, and trade cryptocurrency, receive crypto, and access your full suite of Coinbase One Premium benefits, including zero trading fees and priority support, through November 7, 2026.
The primary limitations currently in place are related to external crypto sends and the use of whitelisted addresses, both of which are restricted as a result of the active flags on your account stemming from the compliance review process. I want to be straightforward with you in that these restrictions cannot be modified outside of that process, and based on the outcome of the review concluded on January 24, 2026, we are not in a position to make changes to these restrictions at this time.
Regarding Your Coinbase One Subscription
Your Coinbase One Premium annual subscription remains fully active through November 7, 2026, and all benefits associated with your plan continue to be available to you. I also want to revisit the Cancel Pending status on your subscription. This does not mean your subscription has been terminated. It simply reflects a cancellation request that was submitted, with the actual cancellation scheduled to take effect at the end of your current billing period. Your benefits will remain intact through November 7, 2026.
Regarding the refund request for your annual subscription, your plan was charged at $1,550 to your Coinbase Credit Card on November 7, 2025. Because your subscription is still active and all Premium benefits remain fully accessible through your renewal date, we are unable to process a refund at this time. Annual Coinbase One subscriptions are non-refundable once the billing period has begun, as outlined in our subscription terms.
A Note on Your Experience
I also want to reiterate my sincere apology for the experience you encountered when attempting to reach our Coinbase Card support line. Being repeatedly transferred to a dial tone is not the standard of service we hold ourselves to, and I have documented this as formal feedback. As a 10-year Coinbase customer, you deserve better, and I am sorry that this was your experience.
Avi, I want you to know that I have thoroughly reviewed your account and have personally advocated on your behalf through this process. I have aimed to provide you with complete honesty rather than leave any uncertainty around where things stand. If you have any additional questions or there is anything else I can assist you with, please do not hesitate to reply to this email.
Thank you,
Michelle

Trading on coinbase is like any casino you pray for the best but there is obviously a lot of algorithms. You should learn techniques on how casinos work and in case of investments there's white list and blackness and the best of all you get to pay a lot of fees. There's really nothing to invest in this day and age. It's very tiring. Being alive on Earth is very disappointing. Soulless and heartless I suggest you just live the day by day and when you die you don't need to feel anything. There is nothing to feel in this world just how empty investments are. Even if you become a billionaire, you still end up in the same place and even if you were poor, you'll still end up in the same place
I wish the app could track your deposits clearly so you can actually see how much money you're losing instead of the unrealized gain or total gain or whatever. What else? The app just looks like s*** like we have AI bro. They can use AI to design better looking apps. And oh my God, how can you not have a stop loss and a stop limit isn't that hard to code in program?

lost 3,000 due to a scam email, which I stupidly clicked on. Unfortunately, the email image of Coinbase that I clicked on no doubt had some code—like a virus of some sort or malware—which then hijacked my browser. Something I don’t normally do, because I am an IT engineer, but my mornings are more fuzzy as I get older. However, I’ve noticed a pattern: it’s in the morning when I’m more fuzzy. I would guess this is a tactic the scammer hopes for.
Thus, from now on, I would look out for this. In each instance, if I get an email from Coinbase (or for that matter anything), **never click on it ever**, because it’s loaded with code that hijacks your browser and tricks you into thinking it’s even more genuine. It’s clever.
Always take a deep breath and pause, and say to yourself: “No. I’m going to go to the app itself.” If the app then asks the same questions, I might consider it, but I will then phone the company up to double-check. Scammers are really clever, and they try to circumvent even your own questioning.
On the email, they put a technical support number, which is clearly not Coinbase’s. Again, I was not doing my due diligence.
Anyway, to provide an accolade for Coinbase: they at least locked my account out from myself initially, very briefly. Then, after a few days, they were satisfied the security checks were good, for me, and they then re-enabled it after ensuring that the hacker was completely blocked from my account.
Just to clarify, it was in crypto format, not in fiat currency which would have been infinitely safer. since I had bought some crypto and I hadn’t yet put it into a cold storage wallet or sold it fiat currency, which I was about to do that very day. Fortunately it was a small amount since I I bought it for 1k, and it multiplied by 300%. Unfortunately, I clicked the link before I moved my money. A hard-learned mistake I will never forget.-$$$$yowch . If that had been my other crypto I'd have lost colossal amounts in fact it would have been my entire savings of the last 5 years. It's quite horrific when it happens to you. It does not make you feel very secure with coinbase's system. I would hope they improve their security so scammers have to go through multiple layers which makes it so time consuming for them that they move on to easier pray all better still a company who doesn't have as good security as coinbase. Unfortunately I trusted coinbase as being one of the potentially that the best and it has proved not much different from any other crypto company in terms of retrieving my money. Until crypto becomes mature enough where it can retrieve a scammer con artist theft then for now exchanges like coinbase are even weaker by a galactic mile than your own bank account is.
Thanks have insurance against fraud I see no reason why coinbase cannot have a similar liquidity buffer for such instances to protect their customers. That way they can choose to invest that money liquidity into security or pocket themselves and ditch the security which I think clearly they have gone down the latter route of pocketing the money and not looking after the customers money.
So again I repeat by yourself a ledger device or a Trezor . Make sure that you buy it from the genuine website and check the website URL from multiple searches including AI and Google and every other web page search to ensure it's the correct one and only by directly from the manufacturers since the cold storage wallets can be bought and then have a hacked chip inside them and guess what. Yes you lose everything. But if you buy the genuine original from the manufacturers they are extremely secure and I haven't had a problem in 5 years with cold storage wallets only online wallets like coinbase I've lost money and several other highly reputable crypto websites that hold your keys it's not a good idea. It's like handing all your money to the company and trusting them. Would you trust all your bank account money with a company that has no liquidity for insurance or chooses not to spend out on insurance or has no technical method to retrieve the money in any way even if it was a
I had to give Coinbase an accolade for at least the security aspect. However, unfortunately, they have no way—or claim to have no way—of retrieving the money. Thus, I am out of pocket completely. Technically, I only lost 1k of my money that I put in. That’s the positive outlook. The connective outlook is that Coinbase isn’t likely to ever help you with your money if it’s lost. You just need to accept that, or make sure you move your crypto to your own cold storage wallet, which is nearly impossible to hack compared to Coinbase.
Always move your crypto to your secure cold storage wallet ASAP. And when you go to move it to an exchange, cash it into dollars or similar, because it’s very difficult for them to change the recipient bank account details.
