I recently purchased a 2 year old BMW at Colm Quinn BMW Athlone. I found the whole experience exceptionally relaxing and exciting. I got none of my usual anxiety when buying a new car. I dealt with Rob McGrath- an excellent salesman and gentleman at most!! He gave us great liberty with time and freedom to test drive the cars we had interest in. He gave us valuable information on great eateries nearby and recommended we go off and take time to make our decision.
The showroom is very pleasant with lovely coffee bar and facilities. I got a great first impression of the whole setup when meeting the very pleasant chatty young receptionist on arrival. I am 100% satisfied with my experience at Colm Quinn BMW . Well worth the 3 hour drive from Wexford. Wishing you all many years of great business in Athlone!

I took my BMW 5 SERIES to Colm Quinn for a recall to have the egr replaced. I booked 2 weeks in advance and was told I would have a curtesy car available to use while the replacement was being done. When I arrived at 9am I was told there was no curtesy car available and the work would take 4 hrs. I called back 4 hrs later only to be told it would be another 1 and a half. I returned an hour and a half later only to be told it wouldn't be ready till 5 and eventually I got my car back at 5.30pm.
When I spoke to the staff I was told that I couldn't have booked a car as that wouldn't be something they would do. The experience left me feeling very dissatisfied, frustrated, stressed and I would not recommend going to Colm Quinn Athlone if you are looking for an honest,prompt, reliable after service.

Worst customer service ever…so disappointed as Bmw deserves much more then people who is working there and never pick up phone and never call you back…

Bought a used car, paid in full. They haven’t finished the body work. Their sales team is terrible. It’s been a month and I still can’t drive it since motor tax needs to be paid and log book is somewhere.. I live in fear of taking it to be serviced, I might skip that altogether and go to Blackrock where I should have bought a cheaper BMW, but I was lazy and went to Drogheda Colm Quinn. Big mistake. Huge.

Awful service and support from this garage.
Happy to engage when buying a car and do all the joys to sell you a car but once you have a car they won’t even return a call.
It took seven calls to their sales department and despite even asking for sales manager they finally responded.
I have never experienced such painful service from a garage.
And don’t bother even asking for a trade in or a buy back on a car as they will insult you with a low ball offer way below market value on one of their own cars.

Very disappointed with the lack of communication. I put a deposit on a car on April 11th had a mechanic check the car on the 13th. The tyres were badly worn with nails in them, alloys in terrible condition and a few scuffs on the car which I asked to be repaired. The salesman said it would be a few days. I said no problem I need to know when I'll have it though because I'll need it for work and I've an 18month old that I need to get to childcare. The communication was vague and poor I had to ask multiple times before I'd get an Answer or update. I ended up having to hire a car myself and continually reshedule work, plans and arrangements. Then to be told the car would be delivered on the 29th of April. The inconvenience was enormous and very frustrating waiting to hear what was happening. A car should be in top condition and ready to leave the garage at a high standard if its up for sale. Would not recommend this dealership to anyone. They didn't seem to care either. I requested calls from a manager which fell on deaf ears.

Huge thanks to Robert (Service office) as well as Eoin and all the Service mechanics in the Colm Quinn Galway Service team for the fantastic service provided to me and for the great job they did on my BMW520. Having been towed into Colm Quinn Galway on a Thursday needing a new EGR cooler and replacement manifold, despite the difficulty getting parts the car was repaired and they had me back on the road the next day in the early afternoon. Nothing short of 5 Star service or what I would call a "Platinum" level of service. Thanks a million to the fabulous Colm Quinn Galway team.

Initially went here for a software update. Dealer did a 'health check' on my car and informed me the car needed 2 x rear shockers and a rubber O ring for a leak in the gearbox (I was also informed the front alloys were buckled). Price quoted for the shocks was €1000 for the pair and €12 for the O ring. So, off I popped to my own garage who quoted €350 for the shocks supplied and fitted. Happy days. Yesterday I went back to Colm Quinn to have the O ring done (my own garage wanted to dismantle the entire gearbox leaving me without a car). Colm Quinn did complete the O ring the same day but charged €26 and initially wanted over €320 also just for labour. Made a 'deal' for a reduction (I was never informed how much the labour cost would be) but still ended up paying just shy of €290 for an O ring and labour. An absolute disgrace!! Oh and this time when I left I was also informed about 'oil in the DIF) and that it would cost around €3000 which I'm sure doesn't include labour. 🤔

I see a few bad reviews here but I have to say I left 100% satisfied with the service I received at Colm Quinn BMW Athlone. Got rear discs and pads replaced on my 5 series. EGR recall also carried out. I suppose it’s all about people and John, (the service manager) was a pleasure to deal with and I wasn’t ripped off (I priced around). Based on my experience I have the in-laws X5 booked in already. Thanks again John 👍, Doug.

Second BMW dealership I’ve been to and yet the experience is the same! You must have to have poor customer care experience to be eligible to work for them. Issues with Athlone originally so went to Drogheda for a recall. Was told the part wasn’t in but it’ll be in the day after and the work done. NO CALLS OR UPDATES!! Car was left in at 8.30 am on the 11/012024. Still waiting on a call back the car has been in there for 5days!, I’ve no way to work. It’s funny how when you ring them they tell you they’ll ring you back. HA USELESS. I’m sorry but a BMW problem should be resolved by them and they should be providing a courtesy car! If they can provide this maybe they should be paying me my loss of wages!! Absolute joke of a company! Wonder what they’ll say next when they receive a solicitors letter.

We had an bad experience initially. After a stressful back and forth over a period of months we thankfullyl reached satisfactory resolution..

Very poor after sale service at BMW Athlone. Level of service is way below standard. Rob is awful and never ever keep to his words. A number of times he said he would call back but never did. I even drove 2 hours to the garage to get help. He said I should go that he would call two days later. Its 3 months now and has not called yet. Stay away from these bunch of liars. Dont waste your time.

Had to take my car to my nearest bmw dealer which is 60 mins drive for a RECALL. Then to be told that they have no courtesy cars available for customers! On the recall sheet is said the works to be taken out would take two hours I’ve been here for 8 hours now stranded in drogheda as they won’t give any courtesy cars. A business I would want nothing to do with. Tried to pass me off on other garages suggesting other garages may do it quicker when I complained about the time taken. Their services team seem like they want to come in do nothing and get paid!!!!!

Update Dec 2023- Diagnostics errors were wiped and nothing was resolved. Have had numerous issues on a weekly basis since car was last in with Colm Quinn.

Never had a problem arise until the recall fault was fixed at the Athlone branch. We have been to a separate garage since who have fixed issues.

27/10/23- car was checked and damaged parts were supposedly fixed. But less than 24 hours after being given the 'thorough' all-clear from Colm Quinns, the DPF filter had crumbled and shards were found in exhaust system. Reduced power in engine and dashboard lighting up numerous warnings. Essentially the car has been plagued with problems since its first visit to Colm Quinns Athlone branch. And it has cost a significant amount of time and money to resolve.

The service team the attention to detail and the customer service was excellent. From the time I arranged to get my car serviced to the completion of the service was top class . Attention to detail 100%

Colm Quinn Bmw Drogheda I would highly recommend James Muckian. I have purchased afew cars now from the Drogheda branch. I recently bought a new i4 and James got us a beautiful mineral white for my wife. I wanted to trade my x5 for new model and spoke to James in matter of afew days he sourced the x5 I wanted. I picked it up this morning. I can't compliment James enough he is an amazing guy to deal with such a fantastic guy and went above and beyond and a pleasure to deal with. I sat with James for over half hour. I have never experienced this level of custmer care in a garage. He went through all the new features on the jeep and set up everything for me. If ur looking to buy a car I would highly recommend Bmw Drogheda and to go see James. All the staff are friendly and so easy to deal with as soon as u walk in until u leave. They have such a selection of cars on display.
