Let down by customer service

We were very happy initially with our 5 new radiators, then after a year our 2 raw metal lacquered rads started to go very rusty. ColumnRads admitted that this had been a manufacturing issue. They replaced the radiators - offered no compensation. I asked if we could at least have the cost of the plumbers invoice reimbursed as a gesture of goodwill (Not asking for much considering we ended up with no heating in the downstairs of our house for 6 weeks in October!) Was told 'yes' the manufacturer would reimburse us. Well 5 months later and no money reimbursed and no-one is now answering any e-mails. You speak to the customer services department and they don't have the authority to do anything!

Were excellent to deal with when radiators leaked

The raw metal radiators looked fabulous - much admired by visitors. But almost exactly 5 yrs in both of them started leaking. I contacted the company and they were absolutely brilliant in terms of a quick and no fuss replacement - delivered promptly by a very helpful delivery guy. Would definitely deal with them again. Would have been 5 stars if the radiators hadn’t leaked which was pretty stressful - but that is more a manufacturing issue than this company. Happy to have same ones again and 🤞

Absolutely LOVE our new radiator

Absolutely LOVE our new raw metal lacquered 3 panel radiator, it looks amazing. We bought the 2000 h x 490 w size and it gives off a great amount of heat along with looking the part.
The price was the best on the market too. We upgraded to the fancy valves too, well worth the investment as they really look the part and are superb quality, very heavy.
No issues with delivery either. Very pleased with my purchase and would recommend.

Keep your fingers crossed...........

From reading these reviews - they seem to fall into 2 camps

1) no issues - everything worked as it should

2) I had an issue - Column Rads did nothing to help

Unfortunately, I fell into Group 2.........

My story - lorry driver couldn't deliver due to a car parked on a corner outside the permitted parking zone. They called me but didn't get me as I was in a meeting. There was however somebody in if they had knocked on the door, and the driver should have just bought it down on a pallet truck.

I spoke with Laura CS manager (I lost my cool a couple of times - apologies) Laura admitted that it was no one's fault just one of those things. I said ok then why don't we split the redlievery charge. 50:50 and got..................a flat no.

Column Rads UK you could fix (I'm guessing 80%) of the bad reviews on here if you had just been a little bit more flexible. It seems to be that your CS department is all about stating T+C's and winning the argument - rather than trying to help your customers.

Note to the MD - if you really want to take your company to the next level, have phenomenal growth you need to help your customers and not fight with them.

For anyone who has got this far - if you do choose to use them, good luck I hope for your personal sanity you don't have an issue because If you do there will be no help

Poor customer service

In the last year I’ve been renovating my old house and have had to purchase new rads as and when I can afford them. My first and second orders were free delivery but today went to order another £700 worth of rads thought I would ask via Facebook if I could get delivery free again. They gave me the coupon code but the website said code not valid. When I queried it I was advised the code would only work once to which I replied that’s a bit tight considering how much money I’m spending. Nevertheless, they came back with “that’s the only code we have” rather than “we will refund the delivery after order” which would have been better customer service. Not impressed !

Nice radiators but only last a few months

Ordered a lovely radiator. Cheaper than some competitors but far from cheap.

After around 9 months the radiator started going rusty due to a fault in the coating. I contacted Column Rads who after around 3/4 weeks of chasing eventually admitted the fault and replaced the radiator.

The replacement has been fitted for only 5 months and already going rusty. I think I'll spend my time sourcing a replacement from elsewhere.

Lovely looking products but clearly not fit for purpose.

We are sorry to hear this, If we have already exchanged a radiator on your system with signs of rust after 9 months it would have been part of an identified batch and handled by the manufacturer. if the same problem is persisting, regardless of where you buy a replacement I would strongly recommend that you check the water in your heating system with a proprietory water health check from someone like Fernox. systems with none or insufficient system inhibitor may have high acidity and will make any radiator rust. I recommend this strongly.

30 day return

30 day return? They're not telling you something.
Unless you are 100% sure what you want, do not order from here. We were unhappy with the finish of the radiators we ordered, so wanted to return them and get some replacements sent. Our only option was to either hire a van and drive them ourselves to the warehouse in DAGENHAM, or find OUR OWN COURIER. They wouldn't even recommend one that they use and us pay the fee. Customer service were shocking, passed from pillar to post as if we were the first person to ever want to return a radiator. It's honestly not worth the hassle, shop local.

Great radiators

Great radiators, but let down by the customer service. Ordered a custom colour radiator, and was aware it took 15 working days to colour it. However I didn't expect to have to phone the company 6 weeks in to see where the radiator was to be told "it was in transit, I would get a call within two days for delivery". Another week went by so I called again, to be fobbed off again. I was not happy so rang back and finally got a delivery date for two days time. Delivery date came but the radiator didn't arrive, I rang to complain and was fobbed off and was told I would receive a £10 refund for the delivery cost. Poor service all round. Would definitely not buy anything from this company in the future.

I have had 3 separate orders

I have had 3 separate orders, all have arrived quickly and no parts missing. 2 of the deliveries had 1 item each with minor damage but they sent out replacement parts within 24 hours with no fuss or questions
I would reccommend column reads to anyone

Poor all round service

Purchased a number of raw metal radiators. On opening realised one of the rads had been sent out the wrong brackets (white in colour). Emailed Columnrads making them aware of this error. Did not hear back so I sent a message via their website and still did not hear back. Been waiting over 7 days for a reply so called Columrads only to be told I would need to take this up with the delivery company, Compass Plumbing. Rang Compass Plumbing made to hold on the phone for over 10 minutes. Very poor all round service. Will not be shopping here again.

Really disappointed with Columnrads …

Really disappointed with Columnrads customer service. Purchased a hammered gold column radiator in late January 2017 but, when it was unpacked, it had a chip in it. Since we had not reported this defect within 72 hours of delivery, Columnrads refused a replacement or repair and tried instead to charge us £40 to have it re-sprayed. Spoke to Matthew, the Managing Director who accused us of causing the damage! We now have to start legal proceedings if we want our money back...

Nice rads poor service

Have bought from this company a couple of years ago bought again and very nice radiators and valves arrived promptly. Installed by plumber and after 1 month valve is faulty. Reported this back to Columnrads, with no communication from them I was passed directly over to suppliers who blamed everything but their valves and were not very helpful. As a second time customer I feel really let down by the aftersales service and would not purchase again.
