Pros and cons after 3 years with Comc

I have been with Comc for about 3 years and have about 400 cards listed with them. In terms of limiting the work of selling a card they are great. Their cost to sell is reasonable compared to Ebay where one has to do all the work of picture taking, packing, shipping, and mailing. If you choose their least costly services expect it will take a month or more to buy or prepare cards for sale. I have not had any administrative problems with them.
The biggest issue is supply and demand. Too many cards for sale and not enough buyers. I have cards sitting there for multiple years and to move them have to practically give them away as in 10 cents. For reference my cards are from the 50's, 60's, and 70's and try to sell them for the best cost and condition value for the buyer.
Now when I send them cards, I check the sales for the card and look at how many have sold in the past year and how many are available. Even a good ratio does not mean a quick sale. Bottom line they take most of the work out of selling a card, prices are fair, but sales are slow.

Ordered cards without issue

As a buyer, I purchased a single, hard to find trading card (with the toploader option) for delivery to the UK.

The delivery only cost $5.34 and it arrived 2 weeks later.

*Update* - I have since ordered a few more times without issue.

Not happy ripped off

I’m not very happy with COMC, I sent out a package of cards to be sold, they listed many of the items wrong such as Bowman under Armour cards. They called them all America. Even though 99 percent of normal investors knows them as under Armour. They never fixed this. Waste of time and money. I sent them a pair of wander Franco DUPLICATE serial numbered cards. Graded error. After weeks they finally put the correct small yellow label on that showed duplicate. The icing on the cake, I opened a pack of cards and got a Jahzare Jackson OTE signed “baby Shaq” it said congratulations on the back of the card etc. I sent the card out for grading it came back legit, and graded. Comc listed the card on its site for several months .during that time I sent them a second package of about 400 Jahzare Jackson cards to help offset the fees of the potential sale. I waited months for them to be logged in. Right after they logged the cards in the pulled my Jahzare Jackson auto claiming that they could not find any proof that topps made this card. “Even though the card said congrats on the auto. Comc claimed that I could of wiped the auto and signed it “baby shaq” myself. Also that grading card company made a possible error in grading the card. I offer to send the card to BGS or PSA and regrade the HGA label. They refused. I advised them that I wanted to terminate my business with them and I should not have to pay the fees for the logging of the second package. They insulted me, wasted my time and I am not happy. Also I should not have to pay fees on the second package as that was sent in strictly Jahzare Jackson’s to offset the fees for this card that they listed for MONTHS. They refused to refund me. When I spoke with the manager in the phone he said that I do not have to pay the fees if I just list the cards on there site. I told him that I would list them then and he said because I already started the return ship, that it was too late even thought it’s going to take weeks to get to sh

COMC grading agreement with CGC and CSG

I've noticed over the years that COMC makes a lot of administrative errors....that are always in their favor.

Today I noticed that COMC has decided to have a few of my expensive cards graded with their new grading service without asking me!!!! I do not believe this is an error because, like all the other errors COMC make, it is in their favor!

I understand COMC management is launching a new product and I'm guessing it's losing money due to a terrible deal COMC management negotiated! I believe they are sending customers cards to be graded with asking customers to make up for a shortfall in revenue!! DO NOT SEND EXPENSIVE CARDS TO COMC. CHOOSE A MORE REPUTABLE DEALER!

Crooked cards

They're basically charging everybody tons of money to do what we could do ourselves for free in all essence. The way they explain it to you is that you send them cards it cost you only 25 cents to load them on the site. But you have to go in and make all the changes all the pricing all of that stuff yourself. So what is the point of this company other than ripping people off.

Bad practice scammy

I think it is a good site and i have made a lot of sales there. However i figured out that if i list a card for a set price they are actually selling it for more and only giving me what i listed it for. I think this is crooked and it slows my sales. They need to stop this practice.i only deal with cheap cards on the site for this reason.

They are holding my cards hostage until…

They are holding my cards hostage until I pay them $1,422. I sent them cards and they're saying the won't list them until I pay them $1,422. This is a complete surprise because they want all my cards and all my savings JUST to even list the items. I said no, I wanted my cards back, but they're not willing to send them back. EXTORTION and BLACKMAIL at its finest here. Because I won't pay them to do something I never asked them to do, they won't send me back my own cards. What a joke!

Absolute worst experience ever.. DO NOT TRUST THESE NEGLIGENT THIEFS

Absolute worst experience ever! These are the most UNPROFESSIONAL, HapHazard, POORLY RUN, garbage customer service , and just all around junk… If I didn’t not already have so much invested as is the case with most of the 100+ former local card shop owners forced to stash and sell our inventory while we take on a full time job I would file theft and negligent delays on my personal property… You would expect them to have some idea of what a SEALED PACK is and THEY CLAIM TO OFFER GRADING SERVICES ONCE YOU SUBMIT THE ITEM.. Now finally I was able to find a fellow card collecting LAWYER and we are planning a WHOPPER of a Class Action Suit… First they open a ALMOST UNIQUE sealed pack / set that I only had plans to grade… then they take ZERO RESPONSIBILITY for hiring clowns to open and process what sometimes to us is invaluable…. Rendering a POTENTIALLY UNIQUE COLLECTIBLE into useless garbage .. FOR THAT ALONE I RECOMMEND DO NOT START OR INITIATE SERVICES WITH THESE HAZARDS TO THE INDUSTRY…. As if that’s not bad enough they hide behind Covid to produce ATROCIOUS AND FRANKLY MONEY LOOSING DELAYS where they were not “Behind” THEY WERE NEGLIGENT and allow me to explain how… I am now waiting over 9 months for items that when I paid and contracted the dates were three months … now if they were consistent I would not complain but then why would they have the audacity to even allow rapid processing and not even delay this until they can catch up and HONOR contracts rendering them NEGLIGENT.. Did they not fail to complete contractual obligations wile accepting and honoring newer contacts first? Additionally We (My Lawyer And I) decided to record and test different methods including EBAY … Please explain how new customers on ebay are somehow able to get thier items in time but us the loyal customer is neglected and frankly breaking a valid agreement & sales contract when we PURCHASE and pay per item to ship … So frankly I have tried over three months to get a sad sack of potatoes from there on the phone instead I get NOTHING … so now I call upon all the other customer and any collecting lawyers that wish to join we are already at about 19 valid cases of contractual negligence and we Welcome more … please search platinum collectibles from white haven and I’m happy to discuss !! I Think Tim Getsch the ceo is may be the worst thing to happen to the collectibles market since the Topps Contract with MLB & Soon to be the Fanatics Catastrophe…

Worst experience ever

Worst experience ever. Paid for 2 cards. One of the cards received was the wrong version. The version they sent me was wrong color, and cheaper. To add insult to injury they didn’t contact me to give me credit or anything just going to try and take my money.
On top of that the card was damaged. This company has a good idea but obviously doesn’t know how to implement it. Filing complaint with police department. This company is shady.!!!!

Good place to donate your cards

I love the idea behind the company, but there are many fatal flaws that make it a huge mistake. I sent roughly 1000 cards, each with an eBay comp value between $2 and $80. Not only did it take months for them to onboard the cards, so I requested a return of them and was told not only would I be charged the onboarding fees, but also a $0.25/card removal fee for their “earned commission.” After several weeks, I was able to reach them and they “settled” by applying a credit to my account. I ran sales on the site nearly daily for several months and sold 90 (roughly 10 per week) cards for a total of $80 in proceeds, paying an additional fee to run the sales. I now am paying storage fees and some day, after I finally liquidate at least most of my cards, I’ll pay another 10% to get my own cash back. Ultimately it breaks down to about $0.70-$.80 per card in costs, that sell verrry slowly at an average selling price just below $0.90, for cards that should be worth far more. Since I can sell a card for $.20/each all day long myself, I would be much, much better off selling as a lot on Craigslist. Word to the wise.
