completely unacceptable 'international' call centre

Tried 5 times to call the international number from overseas - was put on hold for over 20 minutes each time with no answer. On 3 occasions was just cut off - this is totally unacceptable and no option actually given to have them 'reverse charges' as they say. Still not been able to get my transfer sorted.

I live and work in a semi rural town in…

I live and work in a semi rural town in which two banks have closed in the last year leaving us with only Commonwealth. I went to the bank to get change for our shop so that customers have the option to use cash. I was informed they will not help us unless we bank with them. Just another example of the big banks trying to stomp out cash. Absolutely disgusting.

My experiences with commonwealth customer service online and offline is pretty good.
I have called thru a custom rep.and I wait not less than 15 minutes and I am on qued.
The reps are very responsive,accommodating and helpful. They are also very patient despite that I never speak English so well.

I had issues on unauthorised transactions and scams and they were resolved.
Thanks a lot.
I am grateful I choose this bank since I land Australia.

1 star it's already too much for this RUBBISH COMPANY. But I'm a gentleman.
They clearly only look after the profit.

They sent paper on top of paper on top of paper to do something that with other institutions you do literally in 4 clicks !!!
And this just to manage YOUR OWN MONEY!!! THE MONEY YOU ALREADY PAID TAXES ON IT AND WORKED HARD FOR IT!!

BUT
When it comes to fraud....then NO, they can't do anything, they can't chase anyone, they can't do ANYTHING !! And why ?

For privacy !!!

SHAME ON YOU !!

Very hard to contact someone

I spent 1 hour talking to a bot trying to dispute a scam transaction. In the end, the bot finally said a human would contact me soon. Days later I lost hope and called. And the wait time was really long before I was bounced around to different departments with people that were hard to understand.

only a 1 star as Product review wont let me go lower!!!
You wouldn't think that you could get such incompetence from a financial institution. but Comm Bank certainly shocked me. TO make it simple, we have a trust that owns a company with 50/50 directorship. we wanted to open a business account with Comm Bank. This was a nightmare of a process and should have stopped there. week after week, document after document they requested, our accountant was creating and supplying documents they have never been asked for by a bank before for Comm Bank. Then we finally got the account open... 22APR24. I have been struggling to get ahold of any customer support since this date. Finally, 23MAY24 I finally got onto them to find out why 1 card has not arrived. then we find out that they had set the account up in a single name trading as business name. aka basically a sole trader. I asked how and why with the extensive data they requested, and we supplied how is this possible. the response, not our team that does that so not our issue, you will have to go see a branch and speak with them to start the process again in what you are after. I am just completely amazed that you have one of the biggest banks, yet so incompetent to open a single account. We were warned by so so many not to bank with Comm Bank, and probably should have stopped the same time with the issues we had trying to open this account. but if anyone is seriously thinking comm bank. read reviews, chat to people. DONT DO IT, any other bank but comm bank, as you won't get what you ask for and then trying to get any customer service to get it fixed, impossible. extremely poor in every way.

This bank is great I know alot of people who go there and I have never had issues opening up accounts and moving money is instant. Highly recommend.

Ashwani at Commonwealth Bank Church Street Parramatta is efficient and welcoming

I visited Commonwealth Bank on Church Street in Parramatta, and was very happy with the customer service and attention to detail. All the staff at reception/offices were courteous and helpful, especially Ashwani, who displayed a very warm and welcoming demeanour and opened a term account for me promptly and efficiently. I highly recommend the customer service at Commonwealth bank Parramatta.

CBA has made it difficult to address…

CBA has made it difficult to address problems. I can't copy an email address to reply, All the branch staff, are very helpful, yet the online staff for balances and assistance provide very poor and sometimes completely inaccurate advice.

The most complained about bank in Australia - with good reason

With the rise of interest rates we contacted our bank, CBA to see what they can do to bring our rate down. No flexibility from CBA in reducing our rate despite better options so decided to re-finance through our broker. Contacted the CBA retention team (with lengthy wait times) as a final request for a rate review before refinancing only to be told in all finality that they simply cannot bring the interest rate down and that we were on the best rate they can offer. So we proceed with the transition to another bank via our broker. All the forms completed and one final call to CBA to request a discharge form and the Customer Retention Specialist NOW offers to match the rate. Whilst we would have been happy to stay with them which would have saved time and refinancing fees, the fact they only offered the rate AFTER we had commenced the transition shows CBA's level of (or lack of) support to their existing customers. As a matter of principle and as a result of having our time wasted we will not be staying with CBA. Absolutely woeful offshore call center service and absolutely nothing to show that they value you as a customer.

CommBank connections

Me and my wife found out that the commbank do business with a certain middle eastern country that has questionable ethical values and a political ideology that was created in the late 1800’s that supports a apartheid, ethnic cleansing and currently committing a live streamed holocaust and we do not want to do business with anyone who has anything to do with these people.

I can see by the reviews on here my…destroyed by cba

I can see by the reviews on here my review won’t even see the light of day but I think us people need to stand up & be heard what the cba is getting away with is appealing.
I will try to be as brief as I can but sadly the story is long, the person I am writing about is close to me & because of the way she has been treated by cba I am writing this review. She has been with cba since she was in school & as a adult continued on with them she built her first home lived there for some time then she bought an apartment but sadly due to covid she had to move interstate for work so she had already rented her house out & did the same with the apartment but covid happened then the building had serious building effects her tenants were going to sue her even though the fault wasn’t hers then due to the apartment being uninhabitle she had no income for nine months as well she lost her job however she managed to keep her payments going until she once again found employment she contacted the bank asking them for a deferment on the apartment then things went down hill as they made a human error which has cost her the apartment as they refused to help in anyway the apartment was sold at a loss now she will have a short fall which they so far won’t agree to any suggestions she comes up with to have that transferred onto her house loan & it looks like they may even take the house because according to a financial adviser they can do that so what this has come to is everything the bank asked her to do she has done but everything she suggested has been ignored what can you do you work hard all your life & you have banks controlling you while they themselves are making huge profits at the working classes expenses maybe we should all bank offshore like them & others businesses that’s if we have money left after they take us to the cleaners. There is a lot more to this story it’s hard get it all I. So just some of there tactics, bulling ,threatening covering up ,bad credit rating in spite of payments being met until apartment was sold the on advice stopped paying, it just goes on & on we are going to leave the cba & would suggest others to be careful in their dealings they are not very honest.

Impossible to deal with

Its just so ridiculous the hoops they make you jump through just to speak to someone to ask a question. The people at the top of this organization are clearly intent on stripping out every cent they can in the short term which means your banking experience will be absolutely horrendous.
