FRAUDSTERS and SCAMMERS

FRAUDSTERS and SCAMMERS! Beware before you borrow from Comm Bank! Within 1-3 months of your loan they will jack up the loan fees. Mine almost doubled! They are running a white collar scam. Don't fall for any loan offers they have!

Commbank make it impossible to contact them...

Have been a long time customer, but find the lack of access for support unacceptable. There is no way to send an internal email (can receive only), the phone support kept me holding for over 20 minutes (I'm overseas had to hang up). Not receiving NETCODE so completely unable to access the app.
I'm withdrawing my money and closing my account. Useless.

DISGRACEFUL

I was trying to order a business debit card, simply a card linked to my business account to axcess my own money.
The APP couldnt do it and it asked me to call business banking on 131 998, I did this and wasted an hour of my day. I spoke to Anthony and in business banking they do not have the skills set and are not equipt to order a card, OK WT!
It has to be done on the app but the app wantes me to call. DISGRACEFUL SERVICE CBA YOU DO NOT DESERVE MY BUSINESS. Still I am unable to order a card but the business banker was able to make a complaint, thats all he was trained to do! CBA you should be ashamed that you do not train ppl to provide service- you only train them to take complaints.

Horrible Service - Closing all accounts

I recently applied to increase my credit card limit because I have to top up my card almost every month due to increased spending. I answered all the questions, provided all the required information, and I only have one home loan and one car loan—nothing else.

But guess what? Commonwealth Bank’s “smart” system falsely identified an additional home loan that does not exist. Why? Because I receive my salary in my CommBank account, transfer it to ING, and then send it to Bank of Melbourne (my actual mortgage lender), labeling it "MORTGAGE" for clarity. Somehow, their system assumes this means I have another home loan. How ridiculous is that?

Now, they are asking me to prove that something does NOT exist. How on earth is that even possible?

To make things worse, the reason I don’t transfer funds directly to Bank of Melbourne is that their account numbers have extra digits, which CommBank’s system fails to recognize—so direct transfers don’t work. My only option is to send money to ING first and then to Bank of Melbourne. Yet instead of fixing their system, they penalize me for it.

This experience has been beyond frustrating. Enough is enough. I am closing all my accounts, including my credit cards, and will never come back. Customers deserve better than this.

If you bank with CommBank, be aware—this is how they treat their customers.

I rang CBA to enquire about the progress my home loan discharge application, which I submitted over two weeks ago. I was left waiting on the phone for 20 minutes without a real person picking up the phone. It was very poor customer service.

Disappointing Experience with…

Disappointing Experience with Commonwealth Bank – No Protection for Customers

On 30/12/2024, I was the victim of a theft: someone smashed my car window and stole my money, documents, and credit card. The thief then used my card, so I immediately contacted Commonwealth Bank, expecting assistance and protection as a customer.

Instead of helping me, the bank refused to reimburse me and even accused me of knowing the thief, implying that I had orchestrated the whole thing. As if getting my car window smashed, having my belongings stolen, and dealing with financial loss was just my daily routine—only to get a refund!

I find it unacceptable that a bank would rather accuse its customer than protect them in such a situation. For this reason, I do not consider Commonwealth Bank a safe place to keep my money—if something goes wrong, they will be the first to turn their back on you. It’s better to choose a more reliable bank.

Hi Has anyone else had my experience

Hi Has anyone else had my experience? Since I started shopping online about 10 years ago, first using Combank card...None of my refunds went in. They would go into BALANCE but never clear into AVAILABLE BALANCE
. The bank smokescreens me with Sale of the Century Barbie Rodgers hands around the computer......See,this pending, that pending, and so on.I say,I have Debit card. Money comes out immediately when I pay for item.More garble and Barbie hands.Im on a DISABILITY PENSION I notice every cent.My brain is not disabled. I had 3 lots of $205 refunds, went in BALANCE never became AVAILABLE..I was on the app like a rabid dog waiting for that money. It never came. My partner has this happen to him too. Doesn't get the big refunds of over $100 but occasionally a $25 will clear to available He is selling his house. In chit chat mentioned my refund situation to Real Estate agent. Happened to the Agent too.A boat part that didnt work out, waiting for refund...saw it in BALANCE but never cleared to AVAILABLE. . The recent adjustment purchase with Coles double charging,i got 2 lots of $ adjustment. It never cleared into AVAILABLE. NOW READ THIS.One particular refund,it was for my cats pain medication, I again went to bank as refund was in balance, my account was $3 10 business days go by,get my ,pension, exactly to the dollar and the $3 disappears along with $44 return on my statement, gone. Its still not there.Smokescreen again, go higher,Tanisha and Rob(Commonwealth Bank Service officers). Rob is a trainee, just learning, is it OK if Rob sits in? Sure. More smokescreen about pending. Then Rob points to computer and says oh look, that's where it's gone.MANUALLY REMOVED. Above MANUALLY REMOVED Computer facing us,my partner and I see a long list of transactions, the one being discussed highlighted in RED..Tanisha looked at Rob with deep concern. When my partner asked what MANUALLY REMOVED means Tanisha turns computer away from us.Tanisha sent for a senior service officer This lady said that MANUALLY REMOVED was an administration procedure and she could help us no further. .Shortly after I received an email that this $44 went into AVAILABLE on such and such. It never did,how could it it's vanished from my statement. When I googled what MANUALLY REMOVED means on bank statement (its not on mine on app but me and partner definitely saw it on my statement on bank computer).theres NOTHING AT ALL ANYWHERE ABOUT MANUALLY REMOVED. We asked What is MANUALLY REMOVED and were hurried out the door. All these refunds and PayPal payments and adjustments add up to quite a bit of money. Everytime I go in I get the Barbie Rodgers hands and the pending story. I have my statements in paper,I'm going thru all the returns......of course I'm shopping with St George now, they give me my refunds. I'm thinking Ombudsman as the Bank keeps blowing me off...I just want my money but this is happening to 2 people I know so far. How many others? )I'd to know what MANUALLY REMOVED MEANS and how many people's REFUNDS go into BALANCE but never clear into AVAILABLE BALANCE.

I was recently scammed by another company with some used and faulty items. That company haven’t relied to my requests for a refund.
I asked commbank to reverse the charge, they gave me a list of things that I needed to do, including paying out of pocket for someone to test the items. I replied and asked them who to go for to do this, they responded by saying they’ve closed the case. I never asked them to do this. Terrible customer service. Probably work with the scammers for a percentage it really wouldn’t surprise me. Disappointed and will look for another bank.

Commonwealth Bank Locked me out of my own accounts and prevented me from accessing my own money and prevented me from making trades, costing substantial sums of money. All because of their own internal errors. If I could give them zero stars I would. Go to any other Bank, they will provide a better service than Commonwealth.

Terrible service and no interest in doing better.

Tried to lodge a transaction dispute with them for some faulty items I received and I couldn’t get hold of the merchant.
It’s been about three months and I had to load a case with AFCA because the service was so bad I couldn’t even load the dispute let alone get my money back. They requested for “an expert” to review a missing item which doesn’t seem possible, didn’t acknowledge receipt of correspondence, they are inconsistent in their messaging and they are unapologetic about it. It’s no surprise they had over 10,000 AFCA complaints last year.
