Steven and his team provide an outstanding service and I would t hesitate to use him again. At a time when everything feels overwhelming and it’s so tempting to employ an expensive funeral director to just take care of everything, it was brilliant to be able to simply order the coffin my father would have wanted at a fraction of the cost and then only deal with the cremation services. Even though it’s been four years since my father passed I’m still very grateful for the excellent service I received.

I came across this site by accident on one of the sleepless nights after our son died and will be forever grateful that I did. On the website I found a beautiful woven grass coffin and then put together a funeral plan... Steve then sent this to all the funeral directors in our area, so they could contact us with competitive quotes. The responce in general was poor, as it seems most funeral directors are not prepared to be competitive in their pricing and sadly rely on people's grief to ensure they pay over the odds. However, we were extremely lucky, as we were contacted by a lovely independent funeral director (Clive Harries Funeral Directors) who helped us put together a funeral we could afford and which was appropriate to our sons age and our wish for intimate simplicity.

I realise this approach may not be for everyone. My own family were dubious and tried to steer me towards the traditional route. But for me it felt right and it gave me some comfort to know that after bringing my son into the world, with help we were able to plan a very personal farewell. I have no regrets. The service we received from comparethecoffin.com was nothing short of excellent. Steve offered advice, kept in touch and kept us updated. The coffin we bought was half the price compared to buying directly from a funeral directors and we didn't have any issues around it being delivered to our funeral directors. In addition to this, without our plan being sent out, it's doubtful we would have found Clive Harris, and he was so honest and helpful, which was what we needed...

Dear Reader, It has taken a little while following the death of my father for me to leave this review. This is because I had to get over it. I would highly reccomend this company. The owner went above and beyond to provide my choice of cardboard coffin for us. He carefully delivered it to the funeral directors in good time, when they themselves could not source one. In addition many people commented on its sophisticated simplicity. Thank you enormously CompareTheCoffin, for your care at what was a very challenging and sensitive time.

Great price and great service. Highly recommended if you want to save on the costs. Very helpful - they liaised with funeral directors directly on my behalf and got everything sorted. So grateful!
