Superior Service.
Superior Service.
Between last Tuesday and Friday our property has benefitted from the installation of an air source pump, new radiators and pipe work and a pressurised hot water cylinder.
Major work and a couple of days without heating or hot water. However, the work was completed by 3 great people, Antony Manners, Jay Cooper and Aled Dowdells.
They were extremely professional, polite, prompt ( here before 8am despite a 90+ minute journey)knowledgable ,dedicated , thorough and very tidy.
Equally important they were very friendly and good to have around the house.
Antony did his best to give me an idiot proof explanation of the system and little hints to handle it.
If you are fortunate enough to have this team of plumbers then you should have no worries.
Home is now much cosier than it was previously.
Thank you CES and thank you Antony, Jay and Aled.

Calum smith and Arron fitted solar panels to our house and we couldn’t be happier with the installation. We had 20 panels all over the roof across many different pitches in the most awful weather conditions and they worked tirelessly and professionally to get it done. Many installers would have postponed the job because of the weather but they stuck it out and got it done to ensure we met our timescales. Excellent job and lovely to deal with. Highly recommended 👍

Shout out to Shauna James…
I’ve already commented on the wonderful team that were working at Piper Cottage and have improved my property. My property is so much warmer now the new insulation has been completed. All this work couldn’t have been done without Shauna James. What a wonderful lady, so polite, reassuring, would email or call to inform me if there were any changes, when the guys were attending. Shauna also gave me a direct line number to call and direct email. If Shauna wasn’t available there was always someone to pick up on her calls. Overall what an amazing person/team. Thank you Shauna for being here throughout the whole process X

Beware avoid like the plague, dreadful company
Updated after their poor response below
They say they don’t take any responsibility for anything, however they should at least take responsibility for their poor communication and lying, but this just says what kind of company they are! I said to them I would be updating the system myself months ago, but they told me not to as that would change my EPC and affect me getting the grant! To which I got the grant they just wouldn’t make enough profit is why they wouldn’t go ahead with my install, I get that companies have to make a profit but not at the expense of people health
I’ve reported them to ofgen and would suggest others in similar situation do the same!
This is a dreadful company, spent over 6 months misleading me, saying I was entitled to and had the council sign off my grant and it would all be going ahead, for them to spend 2 months ghosting me and blatantly lying to me, they have left me vulnerable without heating or hot water, as I put off having anything installed or making alternative arrangements because of their false promises. I'm now due major surgery in 2 weeks and on my release from hospital I will be in a home with minimal heating and no hot water to clean myself... Id like to say that I was massively mislead by mwumba and lied to by him, he even had the mordacity to tell me I wouldn't understand how the system works- as someone who's a medical professional and its my job to understand complex situations I beg to differ

Futher issues with CES
On the 28th of November CES replied to my review, I have been in touch with CES, after taking advice, to notify them that the review response contains incorrect or misleading information and have asked them to review their response. The review response remains and in my opinion contains incorrect/misleading information so the matter is being refered to the relivant organisations, as companies should not respond to reviews with incorrect or misleading information.
'It is important to clarify that the ECO4 Grant is designed to provide homes with energy‑efficient measures only. Unfortunately, it does not extend to redecoration or the repair of pre‑existing issues within properties, as these fall outside the scope of the grant.'
At no point have I asked for redecoration of my home. I have asked for damaged, caused by CES contractors to be rectified, not even all damage, specifically a broken heater and damage to laminate and wood flooring. There is clear evidence that this damage was not present before CES contractors entered my home and the damage has been acknowleded by CES as being made by their contractors. There is written and photo evidence of this from CES as well as my own pictures etc.
'We are currently awaiting your written response to the correspondence we have sent' and 'In the meantime, we would strongly encourage you to liaise directly with our Aftercare Team, who remain available to support you'
My inital review was left on the 27/11/2025 they responded to the review on the 28/11/2025. I received an email from Aftercare at 9:46am 28/11/2025. The last contact I had from Aftercare was on the 30/10/2025. During that period I sent 4 emails to Aftercare. 30/10, 31/10, 23/11 and 27/11. The emails asked for clarification of an email sent with the 'Final Response' letter, A response to their 'Final Response' letter which needed no response other than clarification of one point, the same point as the previous email. chasing the signable document to receive reimbursement of a broken heater and and email chasing info requested in the previous emails and to notify them they still had not responded to the Subject Access Request (SAR) I submitted on the 9/08/25.
CES can strongly encourage me to liaise directly with their Aftercare Team however this is difficult when they do not respond to emails.
CES also state the Aftercare team remain available to support me, the contact in the last 30 days clearly contradicts this. I find it interesting that when I finally did get a response it was the day after I left a review.
I have since received one email response appologising for the poor communication, a response to my question and acknowledgement of the SAR. However the acknowledgement regarding the SAR was 'We will respond to your SAR in full in line with our obligations'
In my opinion CES are responding 'in line with our obligations' as they have not adhered to the timescales in the Data Protection Act 2018.
Finally I did receive a signable to receive reimbursement of the damaged heater which iwas £65, I have been wondering why CES made it £75 and called it a 'goodwill gesture', and know I suspect why. In order to receive the money for the heater, which they agreed to reimburse and at no point framed it as a 'goodwill gesture', I have to agree to the below...
-Agree it is full and final settlement of any and all issues.
-'Each party hereby releases and discharges, all and/or any actions, claims, rights, demands and setoffs, whether presently known to the parties or to the law, and whether in law or equity, that it, its Related Parties, or any of them has or may have against the other party or any of its Related Parties as at the date of this agreement. This includes the parties or any of its related parties retracting any previous or giving any new actions, complaints or allegations made in writing, email, social media or via any media outlet. This does not affect in any way any manufacturer or normal workmanship warrantie'.
I again sought advice to understand the implications of this and was told that it could be interprated that to receive the £75 I would need to redact the complaint I made, meaning I could not progress with it, which CES knows I am doing. Would not be able to make any futher complaints, even if it was an unrelated new issue. Would have to redact any comments on 'any media outlet' and make no futher comments, which could include review sites like this one.
I have informed CES that I am refuesing to sign the document and will be refering the reimbursement for the heater, along with parts of the oriiginal complaint, to the next stage. If I have not interprated this statement correctly CES have had oppertunity to respond.
I have made sure to quote from CES only what is relivant for an accurate review.

Solar Panels: Leigh Foxall & Team
Leigh had the solar panels installed on the roof in a very efficient and professional manner. He took time to explain what they had done - lining my panels up with my neighbours, showing me photos of how they were attached to my joists, the precision cutting of the tiles, and so on. he has also repaired a hole in the roof beside one of my chimney stacks, replaced some broken slate tiles and taken off and reset my ridge tiles. He was not only professionalin his job , he was also enthusiastic showing that he really takes pride in his work. There was no time wasting and he was well supported by his team. I would happily employ him again.
