I recently bought a VPS server from Contabo. The low price and large storage space (over 100 GB) were the main reasons that led me to purchase a VPS from them. However, I think you should offer a few software packages to choose from, depending on what the user needs.
For example, you could provide 3 to 5 software bundles to complement the VPS control panel, at a fair price.
To conclude my feedback, I would also suggest offering an anonymous privacy option for the VPS server.

I’ve been hosting my websites with them for several years now. There have been numerous occasions where my sites went down for more than 24 hours.
Today, some anonymous person filed a fraudulent activity complaint against my perfectly legitimate website. Contabo gave me 24 hours to respond. I replied immediately, expressing my frustration that they would take the word of an anonymous source over a long-term loyal customer. Despite this, after the 24-hour mark, Contabo suspended my VPS, claiming I failed to respond to the complaint on time. My VPS has been down for 12 hours now, and their support is completely MIA!
I absolutely hate this hosting provider!

When I contacted support, I received a generic response claiming these hikes were due to "AI booms" and "hardware costs." It is ethically questionable to charge long-term customers for investments meant to attract new ones. Furthermore, I am being forced to pay for "features" I never requested, such as AI assistants and 1-click apps.
To make matters worse, the support team (or their AI) cannot even distinguish between my name and my server ID, repeatedly addressing me by my domain identifier instead of my actual name. As a user who values German business ethics, this experience has been a total letdown. I have already decided to migrate my servers to a more reliable and ethically-driven provider.

Der Support rechtfertigt dies mit dem "KI-Boom" und "Hardwarekosten". Es ist ethisch fragwürdig, Bestandskunden für Investitionen zur Neukundengewinnung zur Kasse zu bitten. Zudem werden mir Funktionen aufgezwungen, die ich nie bestellt habe, wie KI-Assistenten.
Erschwerend kommt hinzu, dass der Support nicht einmal in der Lage ist, meinen Namen von meiner Server-ID zu unterscheiden. Ich hatte eine höhere Erwartung an die deutsche Geschäftsethik. Meine Entscheidung steht fest: Ich werde meine Server zu einem ethisch korrekten Anbieter umziehen.
Update: The QA Manager reached out and offered some temporary solutions, including a 3-month postponement and a currency swap. While I appreciate the effort, my concern is not just a few dollars or a few months; it is the lack of long-term ethical pricing and predictability for loyal customers. I am still waiting for a commitment that doesn't feel like a "loyalty tax" before I consider updating my rating.
UPDATE (09 April 2026): After my initial feedback, the QA Manager (Gil) reached out personally. We had a professional discussion about loyalty and ethical pricing. As a result, they provided a very fair solution that I can accept. I appreciate Contabo for listening to their long-term customers and taking responsibility for a fair resolution. 5 stars for the recovery and Gil's professional support.
