Costar sold us a product knowing our use case, blocked us for the use case, kept our money and kept sending invoices.

Costar sold us a product knowing our use case. Sales approved. Someone on account security decides the use case is not approved. Account closed, no refund, no communication about this proactively until we reach out. Sales people are telling us they will get back to us and never do. They keep sending invoices despite the platform being unusable and being unable to explain their reasoning.

Good before payment, difficult once you want out

Very responsive before I signed up. Sales support was strong, regular analyst calls were offered, and the service was positioned as a serious commercial property platform.
Once I signed up and then asked to cancel after finding a tenant elsewhere, the tone changed completely. The support disappeared, the analyst calls stopped, and everything became slow, corporate and bureaucratic.
A small overcharge then turned into multiple emails, a formal complaint, internal credit requests and bank verification steps instead of a simple refund. The process was completely disproportionate to the amount involved and should have been resolved quickly and sensibly.
My impression is that they are far more interested in winning business than treating customers fairly once money has been taken. Based on my experience, I would not trust them to handle cancellation, billing or refunds in a straightforward way.

I am a disable vietnam vet trying to…

I am a disable vietnam vet trying to sell a commercial property in Tennessee. I agreed to advertised on Loopnet for 3 months October - December 2024, I went online and canceled the Ad but loopnet keep charging my credit card for 6 addition months. I called loopnet's toll free number was told that I failed to contact them ad ask to stop charging my card. I am old and disable and can't afford to be charged $180 x 6 months or $1080 total. Note: they never ran my ad but would still be charging me If I had not cancel my visa card. I personally feel they are rude and dis-honest.

Shady Business Practices

My experience with CoStar felt extremely deceptive. The "Account Executive" that baited me into a $6,200+ annual subscription described a treasure trove of lease comp market data which turned out to be virtually non-existent for my submarket. They also promised cross-platform access to LoopNet's listing service, which turned into their (ultra-tacky) opportunity to upsell me on a four-figure annual Loopnet subscription. When I pushed-back on these egregious misrepresentations and deceitful business practices, my CoStar Account Executive essentially disappeared like a ghost. Word is that he departed CoStar for good shortly thereafter and is now working as a plumber. All of this deception didn't stop CoStar from dipping into their termination clause language, a link to which was buried within the ultra-fine print of my subscription agreement, then auto-renewing me for Year 2 at a new annual rate of $6,500+. The timing of their invoice's artfully-crafted arrival fell just beyond the closing of my cancellation window.

In my mind, the clear reason behind CoStar's intractable requirement of an annual subscription is that most anyone allowed to test-drve their service by subscribing month-to-month would follow my former Account Executive into ghosthood in Month 2.

Potential subscribers beware!

CoStar is almost literally a scam!

There is literally not one good thing that I can say about CoStar. They charge my card $450/month because I signed a one-year contract. They provide very little data and properties and most of the time it is inaccurate. Their customer service is atrocious. They overpromise, underdeliver. STAY away from using Costar! Update: I recently switched to Crexi and it is LIGHTYEARS better!

Truly Professional - Raising the Dead

My Late partner passed away in 2009 having suffered a truly MASSIVE STROKE. Whilst appreciating that large and multinational companies feel they are above the laws of man this organisation goes one better believing itself to be above the laws of GOD and Nature. This morning despite 12 years ago having registered my partners name on the Bereavement Register to avoid receiving painful letters and e-mails I received a post card addressed to him; clearly they believe they can resurrect the dead !!! ( something I believe only Jesus Christ could do). I spoke with customer services who at first found my comments amusing, actually Laughing before changing their tone and being promised - Leave this with me and I will see what I can do....

I have asked that they raise a cheque in favour of Guy's Hospital Rheumatology department to the tune of £1,000 to compensate me for their lack of professionalism in processing mail to my late partner so close to the anniversary of his death and his Birthday.

Today I discovered that they made s paltry donation of £250 hardly compatible to the pain they inflicted on me so close to the anniversary of his death and his birthday... But then perhaps to this organisation GAY LIVES HAVE NO VALUE !!!
