It's good to use
Tinting high-gloss tile
Tile color slightly off?
I needed to modify the color of some high-gloss glazed kitchen backsplash tiles. The problem is finding a product to stick to a high-gloss surface without labor-intensive deglossing. After consulting with CoverTec (quite helpful), I decided to try the "GlazeGuard Ceramic & Porcelain Tile Sealer – High Gloss, Wet Look Finish," tinted with acrylic artist's colors (which I have on hand because I am an artist).
This product is expensive, but the sample kit price is very reasonable. It easily covered over 20 square feet of tiles (I painted them BEFORE the tiles were installed; I guess the grout uses up a lot of the product if you use it on installed tile). I added the acrylic to the contents of the larger bottle, then added the smaller bottle. I love the odor-free aspect and easy cleanup. My coat was fairly thick; I think you could stretch the sample kit out a lot further if you go for a thin coat.
I cleaned the tiles with acetone and applied the tinted product with a little 4" foam roller (which rinsed out as clean as new, BTW). It went on beautifully and very fast; a little orange-peel at first, but that flattened out. Some places were a little thicker than others, as is usually the case with glazing, but these were already hand-made tiles, and actually, they looked much richer and nicer AFTER treatment than before. Glossiness is exactly like the original glaze.
This stuff does take a while to dry, so try to keep the dust down. I used a heater to heat my unheated garage up to about room temperature to speed up drying. They were tacky enough to collect dust for at least 12 hours; still slightly tacky after 24 hours. I don't know if this is normal or whether the paint affected the drying time. I let them harden for about three days before handling them.
Afterward, I tested the surface. A knife could, of course, scratch the surface down to the original glaze (though the scratches are hardly visible because the tinting is quite subtle), but no way could I "flake off" any GlazeGuard. Of course, vigorous sanding scratched the surface (but didn't go all the way through). Steel wool simply reduced the gloss in a pleasant and consistent way.
I haven't installed the tile yet, but I don't anticipate any issues in installation, grouting, or maintenance. Potentially a little gloss could be lost in the grouting, but because of the "hand made" look, it probably wouldn't matter, even if the result were a little irregular.
Overall, I couldn't have hoped for any better result. Or an easier application.
CoverTec products are second to none
CoverTec support is second to none, I bought several products for my short term stay rental properties. The wear and tear is great but the GlazeGuard and the CoverSeal Pen55 protects from the heavy traffic and give our properties tile floors and concrete patios a new fresher look that's also easier to clean and maintain!
I am a professional tile installer
I am a professional tile installer. My first time using this product has resulted in a disaster. I will be stripping this product off the floor tile I applied it to. 235 s.f. worth. It has left a sticky film which is picking up any dirt it can find. 2 months later. After talking to company spokesman, he said I may have allowed the product to separate. WHAT? I mixed exactly as they directed and applied as directed. Shame on you Covertec, refund my money!!

My neighbors used a different product and their pavers are faded . I did mine with Cover Tec and it’s still going strong
Looks slippery, but isn't
when you put it on, you feel like its going to be slippery, and it certainly does have a bit less friction than an untreated floor, but it's safe and looks great.
I do wish you would sell smaller bottles for touch-ups.
Interesting product to use it a few…
Interesting product to use it a few times on dark tiles it eventually shows light scratches unfortunately the repair process is significant and they also don’t make any small easy touch up kits Not as durable as I hoped. Process to apply is arduous with cleaning and you must be very careful play very evenly or you may find tiles that have unevenness. You really need to stay off it for 12 hours minimum and have your traffic for a day or two which can be difficult if it’s in a major part of the house

We previously used two different products to seal our customers floors. After accidentally coming across covertecproducts on YouTube we decided to give it a try.
The results were way better than the other products we used, it was a no brained for us to stick with covertecproducts.
Their customer service is one of the best on the market. What I love the most is, that my orders are always shipped out in less than 24 hours.
Great product gloss tile covering
Great product...If applied correctly!
Are used a cover tech satin finish on my porcelain tile floor in my home. The results were eventually outstanding! My tile has a wood grain appearance in the satin finish gave it just the right amount of sheen. I think if we would’ve use the high-gloss it would’ve been way too glossy. We have gotten nothing but compliments on the appearance. I have nothing but good things to say about this product.
The application is where things get difficult. You are using a paint roller to apply the sealer. Be liberal minded when applying this product! If you roll it to thin it will leave roller marks! I learned that lesson and had to reapply The sealer where I had rolled it too thin. There is a corrective process where the floor is taped and sanded and the sealer is reapplied. If you follow the corrective measures as explained by the engineers your floors will turn out perfect. The product is outstanding if applied correctly. If you do mess up, there are people there to help you correct your mistakes.

I've purchased the same product twice now, and I am not the type of person who throws their money away.
That should be all the review anyone would need; however, I would also like to add that CoverTec ships lighting fast, and that too was appreciated.
Thank you!

Dissatisfied
I found this product after searching for a clearcoat to seal an epoxy floor on the first floor in my house. After putting down the first coat, I noticed a bunch of roller marks in the finish when it dried. I followed the instructions for installation exactly as recommended, so decided to order more product and do a second coat. As any other person that has worked with clearcoats knows, sanding and a second coat will generally solve the problem.
I sanded the entire floor, again, and followed the directions, again, spreading as evenly as physcially possible. The old roller marks disappeared, but the new coat still had roller marks in it.
The satin finish could be nice if it set up the way every other paint, polyeurethane, or clear coat I have ever used has, but this is too expensive of a product for it to perform the way it did.
Excellent product
Excellent product
Dilution is key for first coat . Watch their video very accurate depiction. Wet look is staying on for while. Better than any of my neighbors ;)
