I have bought 7 cars through cranky ape over the past 10 years. I bought one today and did NOT have a good experience to say the least.
I drove 4 hours to pick up the car. I call the office and tell them I am 10 minutes from the Hastings location and the time was 4:20pm. Kelly, who was the least friendly person said that they close at 4:30 and lock the doors at 5:00pm. There is NO mention of this on their website. There’s even a special notes section under their hours of operation and it said nothing about this. AND, when I called at 4:20, I asked if there were people signing papers to buy their cars… she says nope.
I am now driving 4 hours back to my home and I am NOT picking up this car because of these lazy employees at Cranky Ape Auctions and I will be charged a penalty because of it. I will not use cranky ape again. The worst part was the way this Kelly receptionist talked to me. She said it would take 30 minutes to do the insurance portion of the paperwork for the car. I had insurance prior to my arrival. How could it take 30 minutes? One look at her and I suppose it makes sense, sort of. But Kelly, change your store hours to 4:30, not 5pm. And no, I doubt your manager told you the store closes at 4:30. I am just livid about this. I am complaining to any review site I can for the next 4 hours.
