Crash Courses Driving School  

I would warn people to be very wary of this company. I paid a deposit of £344 for lessons for my son back in November. The school was unable to find an instructor and promised to return my deposit within 10 days. This was on 5 December. I am still waiting and the owner? Nicholas Jackson is now not returning my calls or answering my e-mails. I have now reported him to the DVSA and am starting legal proceedings to get the money returned.

I paid deposit couldn't get hold of company for days I'm awaiting my refund and have already reported company to the police and my bank. Thanks to review's on here I realized I'd made a mistake in going with them

My daughter booked a course and was called to tell her she would have to travel an hour to get to her lesson each time.

After he shouted at my daughter, I called Nick and his attitude stinks.

Only got my money back after threatening legal action.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL

NICHOLAS JOHN JACKSON IS A SCAMMER. A COMPLETE AND UTTER FRAUD WHO THINKS HE CAN TAKE YOUR MONEY, AND WHEN THE 10-DAY PERIOD COMES AROUND, HE WILL SAY THAT THERE ARE NO INSTRUCTORS AVAILABLE IN YOUR AREA. I WAS DUPED AND HAD TO CANCEL MY DRIVING TEST BECAUSE OF THIS, AND HE THEN LIED AND SAID HE WAS 'WORKING ON IT' AFTER I BOOKED WITH HIM ON 2ND JAN 2024. HE THEN TOLD ME ON 19TH FEB I WOULD BE REFUNDED IN 10 WORKING DAYS. THIS TIME CAME AROUND, AND NO DESPOSIT CAME. I TOLD THIS MAN IF HE FAILED TO REFUND ME, I WOULD TAKE HIM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT TO GAIN MY FUNDS BACK AND REPORT HIM TO THE POLICE FOR FRAUD. AFTER FEELING THE PRESSURE, HE FINALLY REFUNDED ME VIA BANK TRANSFER. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS ABSOLUTE DEVIANT; HE WILL TAKE YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY AND TRY TO SWINDLE YOU. LUCKILY, I GOT MY FUNDS BACK, BUT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE NOT BEEN SO LUCKY. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just absolute joke from the start. Mentioned that 10 days before you start you hear from your instructor, however I ended up having to chase them for them to say the one they had couldn’t do it anymore. They eventually got me an instructor who was 10/10. I phoned them and emailed them again as it was now the end of my course yet they had not provided me with a date for my test. To my surprise they hadn’t found me one and said that there were none they could find. Strange that as my instructor managed to get me one straight away however I would have to pay out of pocket for this. Trying to get my money back for the test fee was something else why did it take a stupid amount of emails saying that I would be paid that day for it to take 3 months and the only way I managed this was to create a case through PayPal if I didn’t I would still be waiting!!
If anyone is in the greater Manchester area go with Manchester driving school!! My instructor usually only takes people from here but decided to go with crash courses driving school (me being the first person he had from them) and said he would never use them again.

AWFUL - I would avoid at all costs. As a mother of twins I booked this course for the Christmas holidays after many driving lessons to try and get them through the final test. Nick booked them in the test at Burgess Hill at 7.00 in the morning (each) - we had a horrible female instructor (Brighton area) who was rude, chippy and clearly not happy to do her job. The evening before each test at 9.30pm she insisted I pay an extra £150 per child or she would not take them on the test the next morning - she said it was extra fees as it was so early. She had me completely cornered - if I did not pay she would not take them to the test. I contacted Nick - he didn't respond - and bearing in mind he booked these crazy test times he should have told me in advance that this would happen. The experience cost me a further £1600 and they both failed. So if you get "driving by Deb" turn it down straight away. Go on to Testi - book your own cancellation - and use your current instructor. This company is appalling - they take your money - if you book extra lessons direct with the instructor as you are concerned they need more the price goes up from £36 an hour to £45 - and they fail to get you a normal test cancellation time (probably to make the extra money for early hours). I wish I had known what I know now - there was 38 cancellations available in Burgess Hill in December - they said there was none - honestly - do it yourself - save yourself a fortune and avoid one of the most deeply unpleasant females I have ever met.

We booked an intensive course to start the week before Christmas as a birthday gift for our son. The terms and conditions state that the driving instructor would be in touch no later than 10 days before the start of the course. We did not hear anything so we chased up. The guy called Nick advised us that the instructor that was assigned to my son’s course was unwell BUT he had got another instructor lined up and was just confirming the details and would be in touch. Anyway…. This basically went on and on with Nick not finding another instructor, refusing to provide a refund as he was “still trying to get an instructor” and basically just fobbing us off.
3 days before my sons course was suppose to start we were no further forward and demanded a refund to which Nick was hesitant and kept saying he would still try to find an instructor - bearing in mind it was now Friday and the course was to start on Monday.
Nick finally agreed to a refund but refused to send any confirmation of the refund and said it would take 10 working days to go back on the account.
Of course we had Christmas and New Year in between and therefore we allowed longer however come the 11th working day…… still no refund! No surprise there.
Luckily I paid on a credit card so I have been able to raise a dispute and get the money back but whatever you do… DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
I wish we had looked at the reviews before handing over £389 deposit and wasting time!

THINK VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THIS COMPANY
Contacted this rather appropriately named company and admittedly was a little desperate to get some lessons for my son - who I might add was ready to take his test. The contact was very persistent in getting us to commitment and shared with me a lot of personal information about his poorly daughter (felt a little taken in by the whole thing but as always I showed great empathy from my side).
The Instructor turned up late on both lessons and was what can only be described as a totally miserable woman (avoid - Brighton area). She really didnt want to be doing what she was doing and agreed to do a Sunday only to change it to Saturday - which was not good for my son.
She then refused to let my son take his test in her car (as agreed) as she said he wasnt ready to - and of course he was completely devastated.
Fast forward 6 weeks on and he has just passed with flying colours.

Absolute scammers, paid £260 deposit in July 2020 them knowing full well they couldn't book me in for my test as we was in lockdown!. I then had to pay a driving instructor named "Guy Martin" £300 for 10 x 2hr lessons, this guy is a real pompous bloke bragging about how he's the "instructor to the instructors" 🙄 he overloaded me with irellevent info i didnt even need to know by talking for 1.8 hours so to save money on petrol then allowed me to drive for 10 minutes at the end of each lesson... knowing full well they couldn't put me through for my test but still happily take my money! SCAMMERS! Do yourself a favour and AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS!!!

Go with John Parry driving school instead now thats a proper driving instructor no nonsense has you in the driving seat first lesson no messing around and you'll pass in no time.

Scam - avoid avoid avoid

Absolutely brilliant company I had 16hrs with an absolute fantastic instructor and passed my driving test first time very reasonable prices wish I had gone with these guys first instead of wasting my money on my past instructor

The actual instructor has been great. I didn’t realize the company subcontract out to instructors so not his fault but Crash driving school awful customer service and very rude.
I booked the 15 hours week course including test.
No test has been booked and the instructor does not have further availability to finish the course within the week. I question why they booked with an instructor who could not complete in a week and why did they not tell us a test was not booked and no alternative date for test offered (as per terms and conditions). ‘Bob’ was extremely rude - even hung up. I called back and he said he’d said ‘bye’!!!
So my son took a week off work has ended up paying around £70 an hour and no test. It start on Monday test on Friday!!
I would not have booked if they could not fulfill this. I wish I read the reviews. I am so angry. I said well refund me the the money for the test and we’ll book ourselves. He then said well there was one tomorrow but it’s gone now. I asked why this wasn’t offered before or booked? He then said there’s one for Tuesday! It’s a shambles.

Couldn't complete the course due to changes to work and attempted to cancel the course. Sent emails using they provided no response after several emails. Called eventually trying to fob me off and have yet to be able to get in touch with them again avoid this company at all costs.

They're a scam! Please read the 1 star reviews and don't make the mistake I made by reading the better reviews. They're either fake reviews, or CCDS decide to take some on for the reviews and then scam the odd persons for easy money. Didn't answer the phone, reply to my emails, and just never turned up. That's me out of pocket, god only knows how many others they've scammed. Hopefully, they get shut down for this type of service. Awful service, awful company!!! I've never understood the mindset of thieves, low lifes.

Disgusting fraudulent company took our deposit never answered phones or emails after and never contacted us about our son starting his course, going to the bank for fraud as this is what this company is do not book anything with them. £400 odd gone and not a word from them. Sick

(Update) finally got my refund back after 9 recoded phone calls and threats to ring the police do not use this company. The man nick has a vile attitude and once pressured a little bit finally releases your money . Nice try nick in trying to scam me you chose the wrong customer Took my money over 8months ago have not give me a date, I have asked 7 times now for my money to be refunded for it not to be, was told on phone by the man if I leave a review then i won’t be getting my cash back company is a scam run by cowboys should be ashamed off what there doing

If i could have given them no star i would however i had to put a star on for the review i have continously tried to contact them on the phone I am now seeking legal advice regarding the intensive driving course with test in same week. I commenced this on the 18th september 2023 the only thing done right was the instructor who was fantastic and i cannot fault him. However I had made contact regarding receiving my test date which has included emails and various phone calls which was met with a rude staff member telling me not to call back as I was blocking the phone lines I have now had to book my test myself and pay the fee so a test that was due on the week of the 25th of September 2023 has now had to be booked and paid for by me for March 2024. I feel extremely upset and angry, and I feel that this company promotes a service which it cannot deliver on and i feel that they have taken my money £ 409. 00 fraudulently.

SCAM!!! Avoid at all costs. I booked in July to start September. I was told I’d be contacted end of August to arrange lessons/test. I was never contacted and the guy ignored my calls. Eventually he got back to me the day I was supposed to start with an elaborate excuse why he had no instructor. He proceeded to ring around multiple driving instructors who were supposed to be able to help, their diaries were full and could offer me 1 hour per week (not an intensive course) I went back to crash courses who said he found an instructor in another county (16 miles away) who could help. Obviously I don’t drive, this was not possible.
He eventually agreed to refund. He said it can take 10 days. I waited 2 weeks before contacting him again, he said he’d look into it. I waited another 4 days and he said he will look into it again and call me back. He is now ignoring my calls and I have received no refund. Absolutely shocking attitude from the offset. Do not pay money to this scammer. Find an intensive course provider who have their own instructors.

AVOID!!! he scams you out of money, books a test to find cancelations even though he tells you they already have available tests and refuses to refund you any money and ignores phone calls, this is not a crash course at all
