Fraudsters

It looks like I'm another person scammed by this company. 2 direct debits taken for £7.95 for a company I have had no dealings with. Now they say they cannot refund me and it is up to my bank to get the money back. They offer services in Fraud Prevention and are actively committing fraud themselves.

Fraudulent direct debit set up

Fraudulent direct debit set up. I removed it straight away. However, Creddible will not get back to me bar telling ms that no credit report was taken out in my name so must have been someone else's which I find hard to believe. A credict check company that cant check bank details match a name??When I have pressed them to understand what legitimate details (in order to protect myself) the fraudsters have used they are ignoring me. I would like an answer and also to understand why so many people are having their most personal details shared in this way. Surely their checks arent sufficient??

Woke up this morning to find that a dd had been set up and £7.95 taken from my bank which has left my account in overdraft. Never heard of you guys or used your service so not sure what is going on but i want my money back immediately. I have emailed your help service but must have this sorted out today!!

You guys should have a better way of vetting dd’s or something because by other reviews, its happening way too often to innocent people!

Sort it out and give me my money back.

I had great experience with Credibble which I came to know after falling victim to an identity theft back in July. The team helped me with this unpleasant situation. They showed empathy and clearly explained what had happened and what the following steps would be.

They are very informative, quick and diligent.

I had a good experience in my dealings with Credibble

I came across Credibble after falling victim to identity theft. I am writing this review because I do not think Credibble are to blame here, and when I reported my concerns to them their response was excellent. Basically fraudsters gained access to my personal information and were able to create an account with Credibble. I noticed it straight away as I received an alert from Equifax. If I had not noticed, then a direct debit set up by the fraudsters may well have appeared on my account. When I contacted Credibble they provided me with useful practical advice and reassurance, and closed down the fraudulent account straight away. I have no knowledge of this company as a direct customer, but I certainly do not think they are out to defraud customers and they have nothing to gain in doing so. The people I dealt with came across as professional and very much concerned about the issue of fraud. I thought it would be helpful to share the advice they provided:

1. Contact your bank or credit card company to check for any unauthorised payments.
As you are covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee, your bank will assist with any refunds you are owed. Refunds are typically processed immediately by your bank and are removed directly from our accounts. This also allows the bank to investigate the episode of fraud. We do not financially benefit in any way from episodes of fraud.

2. Get a copy of your credit report directly from a credit bureau to check for any fraudulent credit applications.
This can be obtained via Equifax, Experian, or Transunion. You may wish to apply to all three bureaus as they often hold different information on your credit report.

3. Sign up to CIFAS Protective Registration
CIFAS Protective Registration will prevent fraudsters from applying for loans or other credit products in your name and prevent any further access to your credit report.

4. Contact any lenders or companies which you do not recognise on your credit report.
In the event that you identify any new accounts or hard credit searches (credit applications) in your name, we recommend that you contact the lenders directly as soon as possible. This can often put a stop to credit applications and help prevent your credit from being ruined.

5. Report your case to Action Fraud.
We recommend that you report details of your case to Action Fraud at their website.
The Action Fraud website also includes details on any further actions you can take.

6. Email passwords
We suggest updating and changing any passwords for all email accounts you may be using. In some cases of fraud, we have noticed fraudsters using the victim’s genuine email address. This is obviously a huge source of information and therefore keeping your email secure is critically important.

Dear Lisa,
Sorry to hear that you have had an unauthorised direct debit taken from your bank account.

As we are a credit building company, it may be the case that someone has impersonated you to access your credit report. In this case, you may be a victim of identity theft.

It is however more likely that a genuine user has miss-typed their bank details when registering for our service. As a result, your bank has set up a direct debit without making the proper checks.

Please contact us on 0800 228 9998 as soon as possible so that we may investigate this matter for you immediately. You can also email us a help@credibble.com with your full name and direct debit reference number.

With regards to any payments taken, you are covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee, and your bank will be happy to process a refund.

We hope this provides some insight on your matter and are happy to assist you as best as we can.

Waiting their CC response before denouncing to actionfraud.police.uk.

Dear Liseyloo,
Please accept our sincerest apologies for the unauthorised direct debit set up on your bank account. Credibble is an online credit checking service that helps users improve their credit to make borrowing easy. We are fully authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and work with some of the UK’s leading credit agencies.

If you have found a direct debit set up on your bank account, it is likely to fall into one of two scenarios.

In most cases, a genuine customer has mistyped their bank account or sort code, leading to a direct debit set up in your name. This is quite common, as most banks do not perform name checks when setting up payments. Fortunately, banks provide a Direct Debit Guarantee Scheme, where they will immediately refund your money when this occurs.

A second and rare scenario is that a fraudster has obtained your bank details and has attempted to set up a direct debit on our website by impersonating you. Like any other website, if the correct account details are presented for payment, your bank will set up the direct debit.

PLEASE NOTE: We would strongly urge you to contact us at help@credibble.com with your name and direct debit reference number. This will allow us to properly investigate this issue and help you better protect your bank account and identity.

Once again, we are incredibly sorry for any trouble this has caused you.
