Creworks 9x24 brushless lathe

Right out of the crate and onto the bench, the lathe was making excessive noise. I assumed it was just break-in noise. After a short run time, something sounded like it shred out. I pulled the gear/belt cover and found the auto-feed idler gear that turns the auto-feed gearset was toothless. I wasn't even using auto-feed.

Gear destructed due to a 1/8" misalignment between the spindle gear and the auto-feed idler. This misalignment was also causing the belt noise. I fabricated a 1/8" shim to correct the alignment problem which fixed that and ended the belt noise.

However, when installing my shim washer, I found that the auto-feed gearset was siezed. Now I have to troubleshoot that problem as well.

Seller has been great and is getting me replacement parts from the Chinese company. But I do not have anything good to say about Creworks lathes.

I had to align the cross-feed because it wasnt parallel with the bed and was cutting with a taper.

The safety shield is worthless because it only extends out to the end of the chuck. The part is normally further out than the chuck, so I have to wear eye protection when using the lathe. I will have to make a longer rod to allow the shield to extend out over the part being turned.

The 3 jaw chuck jaw pieces arent true to rotation. To get a part to indicate in, concentric to the spindle, I had to turn the jaw faces, and perpendicular faces first on each opening so that the jaws are true.

Now parts will indicate in good, but you shouldn't have to machine the jaws before you can turn a piece in them. All jaws (both inside and outside) weren't concentric to spindle at all steps. I had to machine all the steps on all 6 jaws. Just pure crap!

ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE! IF YOU LOVE PAIN THIS IS YOUR COMPANY

ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE!! LITERALLY ZERO.
DO NOT BUY CREWORKS. They literally have no voice customer service. Chinese crap with customer service technical support provided from a shipping agent after 10 days of emailing. On top of that they lie. I was promised a free refund and return shipping in writing in an e-mail. After zero support and not wanting to be tormented the rest of my life if I needed support I asked to return the product for the free refund. Mind you it's never been used or even plugged in. No response now. RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY FAST AND FAR.

No Contact! No support!

I made an order Friday night online. I realized right away that I needed to cancel, as I made a mistake in what I needed. There was no mechanism to do so on their site. I emailed support right away with the confirmation number and the page pdf printout; it did not contain an order number, only the confirmation number. I replied to the order confirmation email with the same request. The chat wasn't selectable. Support hours are listed as PST. I called Monday several times during those hours, and it went straight to VM, but the VM is full. I've received a "shipping" email that seems automated. I knew the product was Chinese, but it lists California as the address. Now, I think this is a completely Chinese operation. I don't know what, if anything, is at the California address. It's certainly not anyone answering the phone. I've been trying to cancel this since ordering it. I'm guessing no one will "read" the emails before shipping. So be very wary of this company. I made a mistake and there is no good way of contacting the company in a timely fashion, if at all. The chat doesn't work with Firefox or Chrome. I'm doubting it works at all. The phone number isn't answered and VM is full. Be wary.
