Atrocious service rude call handler

Having received incorrect documentation I telephoned to discuss the matter, I realise that mistakes can happen, but the way I was spoken to and told that I was completely wrong, when in fact I was completely right was totally unacceptable, the agent just kept talking over me. After serval calls and emails I requested their complaints procedure to make a formal complaint, no reply to email albeit I had an automated response to say received, when I telephoned to request this again, I was told no one could speak to me, and they had not received my email, even though I had proof. After pressing the matter I was told to send it to an email address that I very much doubt was the correct person to address my issues to. This company has the monopoly on this industry, and if the insurance companies didn’t insist that the caravan be registered with CRiS then I would certainly would not deal with them again. A mistake that if handled in a different manor would not received this review, But the service provided was Atrocious.

Customer service when you speak to…

Customer service when you speak to these guys on the phone is absolutely outrageous. The lady's on the phone have customer service skills of a broken pencil. For a paying customer the way these speak to you on the phone when your new to this and all they want to do is fight against you and not actually help. This is not the first time I have spoken to them trying to sort the paperwork out for my caravan but every time I speak to them they are just so rude. Lucky that should be the last time I have to deals with this company.

Security overkill

I purchased a security system for an additional £50 when I paid my £20 registration fee.
When the kit came with various security items there were no instructions with it. I have to go online and ask for this, then print it off myself.
Now I have the kit I think that I would not bother again as I am doing what the insurance company should provide free. If my van is stolen I have new for old so I am in effect paying to reduce their risk for them.I agree with the registration but in retrospect not the additional security.

Another Julie success

Another Julie success! She contacted the dealer on my behalf when the dealer failed to pass on the ownership details onto CRIS. The dealer passed on the incorrect VIN number for my van and again, Julie was back on the case. Julie was reassuring and I felt that I could trust her to resolve the issue

CRiS are antiquated and need to modernise

CRiS are a monopoly and because of this they haven't bothered to update their business processes. Caravan insurers require registration so you have no choice but to use them.

It's a great idea to have a caravan register, but they must modernise. They need to invest in an online registration form and payments, like other organisations, as opposed of relying on a hard copy form requesting a cheque payment. It's extremely slow and frustrating working through this out dated process and a bad customer experience.

I hope this criticism helps them to improve?

Good morning Mr Ballard. Thank you for your feedback.

I understand in this particular instance, you were going through our Pre 92/Import Process and as such, were dealing with our Business Support Team.

When registering a Pre 92 and/or Imported caravan, additional provenance checks are required to ensure that the details provided by you, match those held by an existing identifiable manufacturer. In addition, we check to see if any security alerts have been registered with the UK Police and Interpol at the time of the search. We also do thorough checks to ensure the asset has no outstanding finance on it. All of which, takes a little longer than a standard caravan registration.

A standard registration can be done online via our website, including making payment as you have suggested. Many of our customers use this facility, alternatively, this can also be done by ringing our ISO accredited Contact Centre on 0203 282 1000. Customers can also do CRiS Checks online, notify us of a sale, and order duplicate documents 24 hours a day by visiting CRiS.co.uk. I understand our Business Support team have been in regular contact with you, and you are now at the point of completion with regards to your registration.

We appreciate your feedback and patience, and hope this has clarified the points raised.

Many thanks

Juilie was centrally to resolving an issue of non transfer of ownership created by my dealer Raymond James. Her tenacity in holding them to account and persistence calls resolved the issue. Ownership transfer and chip and vin

The transfer of ownership process is slow and complicated.

The chip and vin packs are rubbish. Shelf life is 6 months, I never used them in time due to my mum being ill, microdots were all dried up. £50 down the drain. Instructions are too complicated.

Not fit for purpose

How can we trust an organisation that is suppose to help cut down caravan theft when they can't get the basics right. Had to phone to do a change of ownership as the online system did not have my model caravan as an option. The original documents have everything correct. Was encouraged to take out the Vin Chip plus for more protection. The caravan has it on already as I discovered later. After three more attempts the document is still wrong and the model is stated as D25 i.s.o TI . The previous owners goes up every time a correction was made. The most incompetent organisation I ever dealt with in my 60 plus years on this earth

Buyer Beware!!!!!!

Very confusing to the consumer purchasing the product.I paid £17.95 for what i thought was to purchase proof of ownership. I called them straight away to explain i thought i was registering my caravan ownership.
The lady i spoke said no you will have to pay another £19.95 to register it now.I explained i thought that was what i thought i had done.Feeling ripped off.

We had an issue with our dealership…

We had an issue with our dealership giving us the wrong caravan (right caravan wrong CrIS number) Julie couldn’t have been more helpful. We are on holiday at the moment and she made all the calls between the dealership and Black Horse to make everything right and to make sure our new van was legal. Fantastic work.
Thanks again Julie.

CRIS

Waiting a month for documents, phoned twice chasing then asked for an email to confirm the details needed to obtain further information from a separate company. Told a central system would be sending the information. The staff don't know what they are doing and have to put you on hold after every question to check for the answer. If we didn't have to use this company we wouldn't. Total waste of time.

They move at the speed of a glacier

They move at the speed of a glacier, seriously, I have never known a company so slow and inefficient. I am only using them because I need to get a warranty transferred. If you don't need to, don't waste your time, it will take forever to get a change of ownership, and they do not tell you if there is an issue - you have to chase them.

Bear in mind this is a privately owned database, unlike the DVLA which tends to be fairly efficient, this service is the polar opposite,

Please be aware this is a complete con…

Please be aware this is a complete con do not fall for this they will take your money and give you absolutely nothing in return, they promised me a 30 day turn around this is now been 60 days and I have nothing for my money, obviously I'm reporting them to the legal authorities and also will be claiming back the amount from my credit card but you just need to be aware that this it's just a fraudulent company
