Crunch app sucks!

This review is only for the Crunch app not the gym! The app sucks big time! I find it hard to navigate and I have sooo many notifications going back two years because you can’t delete them! Nothing works. Also, when I leave a review for my trainer, who sees them? I haven’t been able to. If I didn’t have to use to complete a training session, I wouldn’t use it at all!

Poor Business practices

Poor Business practices.
They charged me every month for an annual fee. The local location blames it on billing and billing blames it on the location location. The billing call-center is in India, the are rude and disrespectful. Its cheap for a reason. You actually get what you pay for.

I have the $10 membership and would…

I have the $10 membership and would consider upgrading to the $30 plan, but the extra amenities, such as the massage chairs, still haven’t been installed as promised. Additionally, I was informed that the gym doesn’t open before 8 AM due to staffing issues, but when I arrived at 7:58, someone was already present but wouldn’t unlock the door. He made sure to tell me, he let it slide this time, which I appreciated—but it still felt a bit ridiculous. Hoping they follow through on what was promised, or at least offer reasonable hours for a gym. Meanwhile, I also have an upgraded membership at Planet Fitness, which includes extra amenities and is open 24/7. So I pay $40 monthly for both PF and Crunch.

Would Not Stop Billing a Cancer Patient

My son was diagnosed with cancer not long after he joined a 3-month trial at Crunch. He went in person to cancel on March 15th before the trial ended. He was told they would cancel it after the trial period ended, but they kept billing my credit card after that time. I called and they said someone probably neglected to note the cancelation and they would take care of it, but they continued billing. I called again, got a person's name and email address and emailed all the details, along with proof of my son's illness, but they still kept billing. I went in person and the manager told me I could "stop all this right now" if I would pay $182. I told her she was out of her mind. She said she couldn't do anything because they had sent my son's account to Collections even AFTER he went in person, and I had called twice, and sent an email as I was instructed on the second call, so they not only ripped me off, but messed up my son's credit score. I finally did manage to find a number to call and a place to send my complaint. They sent a ticket number which included "We'll be in touch..." That was on August 18th and I've yet to hear from them. Unfortunately, I did not save the number I previously called, and I cannot get in touch with them. The phone number for their corporate office answers with the message "We do not monitor this number."

GYM Membership Cancellation ethics violation

Location: Ocoee, Fl - Silver Star Rd. The text message bombarment to get a trainer is exhausting, I actually had to block their number. I requested membership cancellation on 5 Aug, 2025 and I was assured it was by front desk Maria and acting GM Noah. I physically saw in the system they allowed for cancellation but this business is still charging me on a monthly basis. Bri is actually that locations GM not NOAH.. Ego is not your Amigo. The equipment is satisfactory but the AIR CONDITIONER always has issues. If I wanted to workout in the HEAT, I would've joined an outside gym.

Charging fees after cancellation

I cancelled my membership in 2024 because my wife and I had a baby and I knew I wouldn't have the time. Somehow, crunch signed me back up in May 2025 and started charging me monthly. I did NOT authorize this or do it myself. Its now September, and they've charged me $84 in annual dues and $20 month for a grand total of $184. Again, that i NEVER authorized. All of their phone numbers are disconnected and even their corporate phone number is disconnected. You cant get anyone on the phone. Only email. Apparently, you cant trust Crunch...

The cancellation policy is a rip-off

I had a good experience until I tried to cancel. I only kept my membership to work with my personal trainer. When he left, I tried to cancel my membership. It was not clear how to do it online, so I turned off my credit card. They are now hounding me for payment and say I can only cancel by going to the gym. LA Fitness is being sued for this kind of practice and the FTC should do the same to Crunch.

Crunch Fitness of Lake Mary is #1

I joined Crunch Fitness of Lake Mary, Florida mid-June 2025. My fitness as an older person is very important to me and I take it very seriously; I exercise 5 to 6 days a week at the gym.
I was very glad that I took advantage of the Personal Trainers that are available for a fee. Alex was my trainer, and she is incredibly knowledgeable, so upbeat and kind, very empathetic. I was able to use the tools she gave me to decide which direction I wanted my workouts to go.
The daily classes really appealed to me along with spending 30 to 60 minutes each day on the stationary bike and incorporating other exercise machines as well. I've gotten to know the instructors who teach the morning classes. Lauren handles the Evolve classes on Tuesday and Thursday. She is gentle and caring. Lauren takes into consideration each person's capabilities/injuries and is able to conform exercise in a split moment. Stacy handles Barbell class on Wednesday and Aqua Attack on Friday. Stacy keeps the classes lively and interesting. She is very hands on to help and goes out of her way to know each one of us in both her classes.
All the classes grow in new and more challenging exercises as we get stronger. I appreciate that the instructors genuinely care about what they are doing, and they do it very well!
I would also like to mention Liora. She is the Aqua Attack instructor on Mondays. Since Liora is a new-to-me instructor, I have only experienced her once, so far. I came away feeling great! She definitely knows her stuff and did such a great job that it started my week off with a bang! Perfect! I look forward to getting to know her and I certainly look forward to her classes.
If you're looking for a great gym to call home, this one is definitely it!! Come on in, take the tour, and get started living a healthier, happier life!!

Terrible run away fast!!!

I signed up with with crunch because moved and closer to house. I went a total of three times. The equipment was always broken there elliptical machines are terribly out dated and cheap. There was always at least two bikes out of order and again I went three times!! I called in the first week of joining and explained my dissatisfaction wanted to cancel. I spoke with a female employee that said she was the assistant manager and she would talk to manager when he got in, she said more than once , I promise I will call back. news flash I never got a call back. Just disgusted with the entire experience.

Will harass you and repeatedly call you…

Will harass you and repeatedly call you if you miss ONE payment but won't try to find solutions. The card on file expired and i was having great difficulty trying to update it. I went to the gym and they claimed to update and yet I was still having issues. Idk if they don't fix this issue I'm going to close my account.

They are remodeling. Fine. There are no showers. Likely for 4 months. No pool for jacuzzi. No towels newly remodeled bathroom. 2 of 3 dor locks broken off. Much of club pulled apart. Classes packed. And super awful and cumbersome ticket system. Weights from 5 lbs to 150.
0ne set of weights in 5 7.5 and 10 lbs.
The weights women use. And they are not in their spot. No one seems to care . The one thing they have not offered. A discounted fee doe this period. They basically suck

One of the worst gym Franchise to deal with

Just wanted to share my experience. I went to Downgrade the membership from peak results to peak membership just after 30 days of my enrollment. When i evaluate my needs, i thought peak would be best suitable for me. During my enrollment, i was being told that there is no down grade fees as their promotional offer and my contract also states "Change of Membership Type. Any membership can be changed by buying a new membership at the standard price and cancelling the previous membership".
They asked me to pay $55 for downgrade. I was like, you are charging me 5 months of payments in advance as i will be downgrading from $36 plan to $26 plan. When i state that my contract does not mention any downgrade fees, the employee at desk refuse to read my contract at all. Very rudely, they asked to speak with their manager.
Now, I wrote an email and went in today to speak with manager after i did not receive any reply from him. Manager argues that since in their agreement there is a clause
"All requests for membership renewals must be approved by and are at the sole discretion of Crunch. Renewal fees, terms and conditions, as may be posted in the
facilities, are at the sole discretion of Crunch and may be changed or modified, without notice, at any time. Request for membership renewal must be received by Crunch no later
than the expiration date of the existing membership. Renewals after the expiration date will be at the full membership price including any initiation fees"
Now due to this clause thay can charge anything and everything as per their wish. and they do not need to provide any notice to anyone.
Now imagine what they have been doing across the whole North America.
If they have 50000 Consumers and they charge one dollar extra to each consumer that's like extra $50000 in their pocket and They know very well that who is going to fight for a few dollars.
I was amazed to know there was no escalation process and you cannot find a single point of contact to complain about this to anyone.

Can I give zero stars?

Can I give zero? Absolutely crooks. Im reporting them to AG and BBB. Con artists. Dishonest to a fault. Can't cancel membership. Hidden fees. Overcharging rampant. Still paying full membership fees but not being allowed inside. Avoid at all costs, I had issues with planet fitness and even they were better. Horribly inept/dishonest/dumb, and lazy staff and management.

Aside from the inexperienced staff

Aside from the inexperienced staff, even the manager behaves in a way that’s not respectable. I had opened a membership for my daughter and already canceled it by going to the fitness center and canceling directly with the manager almost two months ago. But today, the gym still charged the monthly fee from my account, which is the worst experience. This fitness center continues to behave poorly with no improvements at all.

After that, I called just now, and once again an inexperienced staff member answered and told me the manager wasn’t there, and that the manager would handle it later. That was their response. It’s terrible, and there’s nothing more to say to describe how awful this place really is.

Taking Financial Advantage of Client

I cancelled my membership on July 30, 2025. Management said it would not be effective until August 30 but I would not be charged for September. On September 2, I was charged for a full month. When I asked management to reverse the charge, they would not acknowledge my membership cancellation and refused to refund my money! POOR CUSTOMER
SERVICE
On Sept 24, 2025, Crunch refunded $34 for my Sept 2025 cancelled membership. Thanks for doing the right thing.

DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!

I am normally not one to write bad reviews but I currently am being completely taken advantage of by Crunch Fitness. They charged me for personal training that their trainer was late for one and cancelled 2 sessions. When I asked for a refund they refused and said that the contract says no refund but they are the ones that didn’t show up. Then when I asked to cancel they said I have to wait 30 days and are going to charge me the annual fee before I am able to cancel. I’m am losing out on a little over $400 due to their predatory charges.
