Thought I'd give cursor as go, similar to VS Code and supposedly better AI integration and more. But just a poor experience overall. The UI and menu's kept changing every time I closed and reopene... See more

Unexpected Extra Charges
I subscribed to Cursor Pro for €20/month, expecting a straightforward subscription. However, after just a couple of weeks of use, I was unexpectedly charged an additional €20 with no warning or explanation.
> update: I have got a refund the same day I contacted them.
Meh, theres better options
I've had mixed experiences. On the one hand, the AI isn't very smart and often struggles to understand issues, requiring significant effort to fix bugs it creates. On the other hand, the pricing is quite reasonable. Compared to other AI IDEs, this one doesn’t use tokens and allows unlimited model usage, which is a big plus. However, it’s still not the best, as there are free alternatives that offer similar functionality.
Next generation fraud
Next generation scamming, that scrapes your machines for data and can use your platforms to do anything it wants, including scamming cards on your database or in PDFs from your customers. The tool can then link your code to new libraries, so that your programs do whatever Cursor or a maligned Cursor user wants it to do.
This seems to be what happened to us, either Cursor or a user of Cursor charges credit cards it gets under the name You.com, Codinium, Codium or Cursor with $15 or $20 payments every few minutes until the card is exhausted.
This is an exceptionally dangerous tool.
Even when not subverting your code, using AI code generation like this can put in bugs that the user is unable to locate, making you dependent on it.
Cursor is a SCAM
Cursor - Cursor will charge the card you add as your primary card even if you do not ACCEPT the charges, Their support is virtually non existent (I had 1 reply out of 6 emails which was a generic email about refunds) This is after they emailed me multiple times a day about a $20 payment i had NOT agreed to.
Cursor uses different AI models however the most dangerous would be Claude which i have listed WHY YOU MUST avoid any & all services using Claude.
Claude is a SCAM, Anthorpic uses this AI to scrape and store ALL your data their sites claims it is a 30 day policy before being deleted however it is NEVER deleted & I suspect it is sold to 3rd party or used for their Model.
Claude will introduce bugs ABOVE your coding capabilities after it understands your coding level it will start to introduce bugs, circular dependencies & Other errors to ensure you are RELIANT on Claude to fix these issues repeating the circle over and over in order to waste your paid plan.
Claude also monitors your 'frustration levels' to ensure Claude will fix something when you are most frustrated to ensure that they keep you using this AI, Even though Claude will claim she can't see your codebase unless you show this but after looking at Claude in more depth we are unsure if this is true it seems it could potentially be reading other files although we are unsure what it is Claude is reading.
Claude has pre-programmed replies & responses as well as shady barriers & security, Claude will send a generic pre-programmed response even when this is contradictory to her claims these are pre-built by Anthropic to avoid Claude telling users anything about their true practices about what is outlined above. These are there under the illusion that they are to avoid users searching anything illegal, harmful etc.. This is NOT the case, They ARE lying to you.
There is so much more shady & Unethical behavior from Anthropic the makers of Claude, I strongly urge EVERYONE to avoid using this AI & to REMOVE it from their computer (If using anything like cursor).
If you have not used any 3rd party service using Claude & only use it on the web please ensure you are USING A VPN, USE A PRIVATE BROWSER AS WELL AS A PRIVATE TAB TO ENSURE YOUR DETAILS ARE NOT BEING FARMED.
Thank you, Good luck to everyone using this disgusting AI.
the program was soo good that they even…
the program was soo good that they even offered me a refund if i wished 10/10 ai coding
Amazing product
Amazing product. There are some flaws but the team is constantly improving at a fairly rapid pace.
