DO NOT USE!!

On the day of our move. The 2 men wernt the quickest in the world. Our move needed 2 trips and we needed to have vacated our property by 2.30pm.

They began loading the van with all the boxed items first and then a little furniture but not a lot of it as it wouldn't fit. They then transported this to our new house. By this time is was gone lunch. Therefore myself, my fiance and mother in law had to help offloading the van!! I think if we didn't they would have still been here at tea time.

They then went back to the old house to collect the remaining solid oak furniture, bed, bedding and garden stuff etc. It was raining by this time and they had left their sheets outside so they were all soaked. Because of this they did not wrap anything (apart from the sofas when on the van)! By the time they left the old house it was gone 4pm. Luckily our buyers were ok about getting the keys late!

My main reason for this review is that our VERY expensive mattress was not covered and was also put on the van last so got squashed up against the dirty side and was loaded on after all the wet and dirty plant pots. There was a fitted sheet on it which got stained and the mattress is disgusting! I am appalled that this happened as in the quote it states that sofas and mattresses will be covered.

I know the move is insured so I tried to claim through them for the damage. I got fobbed off for a week by Jamie at the Nottingham branch until I finally got to speak to Andre the owner on his "personal" mobile number. I then had to wait another week for his insurance to come back to him. He did say though if the insurance wouldn't cover it he "personally" would. So I thought great it will be sorted soon. After a week I called him as I hadn't heard anything only to be told no the insurance wouldn't replace the matress only CLEAN it which I was not happy with. So I asked him if he could do it not through the insurance. He said no he could only clean it! I then asked if he could give me a small amount towards replacing it. Less than half of what it would cost. He said no!! This all took place over another week of me having to call him every day as he never called me back! I have resorted to leaving this review in the hope nobody else has the same problem with these crooks.

Thank you so much to Daniel and Peter…

Thank you so much to Daniel and Peter for moving us in on a bank holiday Monday.
We could not recommend Dailymovers or yourself enough to everyone.
You were both very efficient and professional.
You took all the stress out of our move.
Daniel arrived earlier than we were originally told, however this was not an issue, this is a plus in our eyes. Peter arrived shortly after and both men were brilliant.
Nothing was to much trouble for them.

We cannot recommend Dailymovers enough and will definitely be using you again when the time comes for us to move.

Thank you so much Dailymovers and Daniel and Peter.

Absolute Shambles!

Absolute shambles!

Had the survey done and discussed all our requirements. The quote was quick and they seemed very professional. We confirmed the booking the night before and everything seemed to be in place for 2 vans arriving at 0930.

1015 on moving day and one of the vans arrived. The two guys had a quick look around and it was obvious they didn't think they would be able to do the job. 1030 the second van arrives with one more person. We didn't start loading the vans until about 1100. It was very clear they were out of their depth with this job.

They had minimal blankets etc to protect our furniture. Despite measuring the tv during the quote they had nothing to protect the tv and this had to go in our car. With 4 members of my family helping it took us until 1330 to clear the house just in time for key exchange. We hadn't even started on the garage!

Because they didn't have vans big enough for the job we had to go to the new house (luckily local) and unload one of the vans so we could go back for the garage stuff. Again the van wasn't big enough for the garage stuff and we had to do several car journeys full to help get moved. All this time our very understanding buyers and their moving company were waiting to move things in to the garage. Their moving company even helped to speed things up!

We eventually got everything moved in at about 1745. This time was only due to the fact that we help the guys with the moving. I honestly believe it would have taken until about 2000 if we hadn't done this. We had damaged garden furniture, a broken garden ornament and scratch bedroom furniture.

The 2 stars are only because the guys (2 of them anyway) who worked through without a break and I cannot really fault their effort even though they were late.

I had a discussion with their boss on the phone and was disgusted how he dismissed the job as being 'one of those things' and I also get the impression his workers are treated terribly and expected to work like this all the time. We did get some small compensation(£132) for the damage and inconvenience(which this does not cover!)however I would have pushed for much more if I didn't think it was the workers who would pay the price!!

My advice is DO NOT USE this company.

We booked this company as they were the…only ones who could fit us in at short notice.

We booked this company as they were the only ones we could get at short notice. When they didn't arrive at 9am as promised, I phoned them and asked when they would be with us. I was told they were running an hour or so late, but they would be bringing a large van so there shouldn't be any problem. Two men arrived at 12.30 with a small van which needed 3 trips (only local fortunately) and still took until 7pm, despite my husband doing several runs with the smaller boxes. The men were very pleasant and worked tirelessly but still broke a foot off my fridge and muddied my brand new mattress. We complained to them and they rang the office, telling us that because they had been so late arriving, that the boss would give us a big box of chocolates - still waiting ! We should have complained at the time, though I did email them. I never received a reply ! I could certainly not recommend them.

Awaiting bills for the move

I had booked moving on 18 Feb 2018. The contact and handling of request prior was very good.
On the day of move, team arrived on time and made the move for us. Though the packaging of some items were not up to scratch and some of the items arrived wet and soaked due to rain, I was willing to overlook these.
Payment from my side has been prompt.
My problem is not having the bills sent to me still.
I have raised this over phone and over the comparison website and the excuse was snow for not sending my bills.
It is now well over the snow and am still waiting.

Do Not Use.

Daily Movers were extremely efficient in giving me a quote and in getting my booking sorted, however, it was downhill from there.

The day of my move they were supposed to arrive between 8:30 and 9am, I got a call at 9am to say they'd had a member of staff not come in after a late job the night before so would be running late (pretty sure they knew this before this time).

The guys eventually turned up, and had no idea that the booking involved dissemble/reassemble and did not have any tools with them (why a removals company would not just carry tools in their van as standard is beyond me...), their boss suggested they buy some, but they worked with what I had to hand. I asked at some point how payment was to be made, and was told I could do a bank transfer or pay cheque.

The two guys were lovely and worked hard to get the job done. Arrived at my new property and a few mistakes were made - a light fitting was damaged, my fridge/freezer was damaged and an £800 wardrobe damaged (to the point my doors no longer shut, I've made enquiries with the manufacturer and it's not reparable). These were genuine accidents and the guys doing the job clearly felt awful.

They left a little quietly once the job was done, only to ring my doorbell a few minutes later - I had not paid and their manager had told them they were not allowed to leave until I did. I advised that the manager should contact me directly - he did not, I rang him in the end. He first of all said that I should be paying cash as it was a weekend - first I'd heard of it, did not have a few hundred quid cash to hand. He stated that they would attempt to fix my wardrobe and claim it on insurance if this was not possible, but that I must pay the full balance right away (he told me that he had no authority to offer a discount - I've since checked and he owns the company, pretty sure he had authority). After a lengthy argument, of me explaining I currently owed them less than the cost of the damage caused - I agreed to pay as long as they accepted liability in writing, an email arrived, I then asked for confirmation of remaining balance and account details, this email was delayed, so I carried on unpacking. I received a phone call from the manager asking for my money as he'd emailed - checked my email again after hanging up, it had arrived but no balance confirmation. By this point the guys had been allowed to go home and I was feeling less forgiving, so I decided I wasn't risking paying.

I heard nothing. I sent an email requesting we reach an agreement - nothing. A letter - nothing. A second letter threatening legal action - they responded to this one, refusing to anything, of course. I haven't taken legal action, I have a feeling this would be more stressful for me and I may be able to replace the wardrobe with a second hand one that doesn't leave me too much out of pocket. I am in the process of making Trading Standards aware, however.

My advice to anybody booking removals is first of all, NOT to book with this company (especially given I've now seen someone else had a VERY similar experience to mine), second of all (if only I knew then what I know now...) I would aim for a company registered with British Association of Removers (BAR), to ensure that they are reputable - I would say it's worth paying the extra money, the contents of your home is worth a lot more than the money you save booking with this cowboys!

Response to Daily Movers response: The difference between this and your insurance analogy, however, being that you guys [should] have already paid your insurance premium, you did not require my payment to do that. What I paid for was a service, so relevant analogies would be those of services - you pay for a garage to fix your car but they break something else along the way, would you pay them before it was fixed? Let's not also forget that all other reviews on this thread where damage has been caused are stating that they have not received compensation from yourselves, I can only be grateful that I did not trust in this process. Where damage hasn't been caused, your customers are of course happy, you do a good job, but as soon as there's a problem you don't want to pay out!

Reply from Daily Movers

Dear Sarah, thank you very much for your feedback. I am glad that you have raised this issue about payment and claims. I will explain the process so in future our clients wont make a similar error.

When a removal is booked you are paying for a removal as well as insurance. Logically you can only claim on insurance if you have paid for insurance. If you had an accident in your car, you would not stop paying the monthly premiums because the insurance company is going to owe you money anyway. If you dont pay them any more they will not pay out on your claim as you have not stuck to your agreement.

It is similar in removals, we explained to Sarah Kent to pay the balance in full, we will then go to our underwriters and claim back for the damages. Sarah refused to pay the balance. From a removal of £528 Sarah only paid £78. Drivers still have to be paid, fuel still has to be paid. The money from damages does not come out of our pocket but from insurance.

If Sarah had followed the correct legal procedures then we would have been paid in full for our work and she would have had all the damages refunded. However the situation is we are £450 down and Sarah is left with damaged furniture unfortunately.

You do not get insurance pay outs if you do not actually pay for insurance. It is illogical.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

As you all can see from my previous review they done a terrible job and now after more than a month chasing them to try and get some money back for my damaged and broken things I got passed for manager to owner to another owner Andre who seemed like a lovely guy over phone but all I got was a sob story about the business not doing well and can't afford to give me less than half my money back which is what I was asking but did offer me a 100 pound to remove my review. So I refused this and posted this review to let you all know that they are crap at handling your things and even worse at customer care DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY...

DailyMovers fantastic service

Afterr reading mixed reviews we decided to take a chance and contacted DailyMovers to use for our son’s move from Derby to Stoke on Trent yesterday and he dealt with Sam who was very helpful all through the booking process. Boxes were delivered as planned the day before and on the day of the move David and Elliott were brilliant from start to finish. Would definitely use them again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend DailyMovers. Thank you for making the move so stress free. An amazing team and good value for money too. Thank you all once again!

Great service many thanks!

In January i was moving houses in Leicester and the two men helping me Daniel and another were extremely helpful and polite. The job got done and they clearly knew what they were doing and were organised. I was stressed about the move but the service from these two was more than i could ask for. I would definitely use this same service again and would request and recommend to anyone these workers and service. Overall the 5 stars explains it, i am extremely happy, many thanks.

Excellent service from Daily Movers
The two guys Dan and Dennis We’re polite , nothing was too much trouble I have been very pleased to have used this firm , and can recommend them for house removal .
The price was fixed for the day of move , everything went smoothly from old house , with several hour delay at new property to unload the vans , as the house hadn’t been packed and emptied ready for me to move in .
Dan and Dennis put me at ease and remained cheerful , even though it was a long day 9am start and 8pm finish .
Thankyou 😊

Terrible Communication

I got an original quote last Friday 5th January, I was unable to speak to them over the weekend due to work and then not being open at the weekend when they state they are open.

On 8th January I rang the derby number several times to speak to someone and everytime it went straight to answerphone.

I then proceeded to ring the Nottingham number which was answered fairly quickly, I spoke to them and they said they would pass the information and get back to me later that day. This was 10.30 in the morning so understandable.

It came to 5.30 in the evening and I still received nothing via email or phone calls. I have tried numerous times again on both numbers and they keep ringing or straight to answer phone.

The quote was needed for an imminent move and due to the lack of communications I am suprised they have any custom at all.

Great pricing! Terrible communication

Excellent service today from Daily …

Excellent service today from Daily Movers. They offered an extremely competitive rate with just two weeks notice. Moving 3 days before Christmas is particularly stressful but the two lads took everything in their stride. They packed boxes, insisted on sorting the fish tank (something I was dreading) and disconnected the tv and washing machine. All above and beyond what they had quoted for. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic service- made our move easy and enjoyable thank you Shaun and Damien :)

When initially contacting moving firms we found daily movers to be the most friendly on the phone and reasonable in price. We moved into our new house on 30th November with the help of Shaun and Damien at Daily Movers. From the time they arrived to the moment they left they ensured our every need was met. They showed respect and extra care for our property and when transporting the furnituire into the new house. Although there was a lot of waiting around (not their fault) they did not complain or moan!!

Thanks guys you made our move so much less stressful and we felt that you went out of your way to get the job done, we would use you again in a heartbeat :)

Daily Movers Diabolical Outfit

The so called manager Sam Ilyas had arranged and quoted to move our house contents last week (4/10/2017)but no one arrived, I called to ask what was happening, he said I'll find out, he never came back to me at all, later in the day some driver phoned and said "do you need a man and van" I said if you are associated with Daily movers definitely not, I cannot trust anything to do with them. I eventually got a reputable firm to do the job they were supposed to do, but had to pay emergency fees because we had to be out of the house that day. If they were linked to any trade association I would report them, but I don't believe they will ever be good enough to belong to one. Apart from insulting the so called manager that gave me the quote and promises I am still considering what to do from here, they are no more than a subcontracting agency, but if they can't arrange the transport they will leave you high and dry as I know to my cost. Do not believe the glossy brochure they introduce themselves with. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, I WISH I HAD
In response to Daily Movers reply I was never asked for a deposit and I have e-mails to back up what I have said and their reply proves they back track when defending their bad practices, do you think I would sabotage my own house move for the sake of a deposit which I would have to pay anyway as part of the final bill I repeat don't trust them.I am also telling the truth when they let me down with packing materials ordered for sat 30th Sep which they were going to deliver to my bungalow and I was told "it could be difficult today because one of the surveyors had phoned in sick" so we went to Homebase for this (receipts available also logged call info) I have no reason to make this up, please make your own minds up! I wish I had never contacted them

Further to your latest response today (20/10/17) from the company, does this company spokesperson have a contact number and/or address? as companies do not write responses on their own. The apology is welcome although it will not compensate us for what we have gone through, I say once again I/we were never, ever asked for a deposit. I phoned Sam when we came back from the solicitors on 27/09/17 and asked him, how are we for these dates Tues 3rd/Wed 4th October, he said loads of availability for those days. I then said I would buy some packing materials, when can you deliver them. Saturday, he said, still no mention of a deposit. On Saturday 30/09/17 when I phoned Sam re; the materials and someone was off sick ( so we got our own) he confirmed to me that the van was going to be at our bungalow on Wednesday morning at 8 am for the move. Never in any of these conversations was a deposit mentioned. I am not abusive to your staff, whoever you are, your staff have been abusive to me, that's the whole point of this terrible review you're getting. Do you think I should be giving you or Sam an accolade or something, We're the victims here. Sam has never spoken to me since me calling him on Wednesday 4/10/17, at 08.20 hrs, is that a good manager?

Thank you for your feedback on our service, we always appreciate honest feedback to help us improve our organisation. What we dont appreciate Mr Frost is your constant harassment of our office staff. It is not Sam who personally dealt with your move. its the company daily movers. So please stop leaving abusive voicemails on Sams mobile.

Its a simple misunderstanding, it happens time to time. You forgot to pay your deposit, therefore your move was not booked. When you did call us on the day of the move, this was explained to you. We felt bad for your circumstances so we tried our best by arranging a crew who were off that day to come in. This takes time sometimes. The called you to let you know they were coming, you admitted in your review that they called but you refused. You decided to book with another company and pay unnecessary emergency fees when we were willing to move you for the price we quoted you. I dont understand what more we could have done.

Once again Daily movers wish to offer you a sincere apology and hope you have settled in your new home. If i could just request you stop the abusive voicemail's to our staff.
