Stay far away
One of the front doors was broken but they never fixed it regardless of how many times I asked them to come repair it. We could have been robbed. Some of the doors inside the apartment itself were broken too and we had to fix them ourselves.
The freezer was broken and leaking, and it was never properly fixed either.
The wooden floors were in such bad condition when we moved in that it gave us splinters in our feet.
We received none of our deposit back.
And finally, as the cherry on top, I got a bill from them for nearly 13000 DKK, months after I had already moved out from this neglected apartment. They had renovated the floors that should have been renovated years ago, and decided to charge us for the expense! It is illegal to expect a tenant to return the apartment in better condition than they had received it in.
Fortunately, I went to huslejenævnet for help and they ended the case with the conclusion that danhousing had acted illegally. I had my 13000 dkk returned to me and Danhousing will be fined an additional 6000 dkk for the case.
Illegally charging people for renovations on their behalf is probably something that they have been doing to people for a long time, and been getting away with because people don't fight back. Well, I refused to accept such treatment without a fight.
Danhousing, you should really be ashamed of yourself. It is exploitative and wrong to try and take advantage of financially vulnerable young people like that. Absolutely shameless. It baffles me that this housing company is still allowed to stay standing.
