One star would really be pushing it

One star would really be pushing it, our kia sportage is 2 years old, been serviced regularly and was bought for the fact that we wanted piece of mind, well that couldn't be any further from the truth 8 week after purchase (from new) we had an issue with a sensor that had to be changed, 6 months on the same issue this time we managed to clear the fault (basically every 3/6 months the fault needs clearing, we had it pip up again a couple of months ago but every time it's clear the next day it back, we took it to the dealer who charged us £180 to fix even the car is still under warranty, they had the car for 3 days, we collected it and on the way home the same issue popped up, we took it back again 2 days and then cleared but less than a mile into leaving again issue pops up, we took it back for the third time after nearly a week we got the phone call that while trying to repair the car we have broken something else (what!!!) And the parts needed are on back order and will be weeks maybe months, ok well we need a car but guess what nothing available for nearly another week, we was due to go on holiday and have had to cancel the day before so again more money down the drain. I suppose what I am trying to advise is never buy a Kia there is no customer care in fact they just don't care. 🤬🤬🤬

SHOCKING EXPERIENCE WITH CAR SERVICE

SHOCKING EXPERIENCE WITH CAR SERVICE – Check the Price Before Handing Over Your Keys!

I booked my annual car service online for £233, but upon arriving at the Maidstone Dealership, I asked for price confirmation and was shocked to hear that it would be £370!

When I showed them my confirmation email, they dismissed it, claiming the online price "probably didn’t include VAT." However, VAT wasn’t mentioned in the email or during booking—and even with VAT, the total wouldn't reach £370. Then, they suggested I had booked the wrong service, which we quickly clarified was not the case (2nd-year service, under 20,000 miles).

As if that wasn’t enough, they suddenly started offering me a "free car wash"—which I declined since my car had been washed the day before. Eventually, they said the best price they could offer was £270.

At this point, I was completely speechless and had lost all trust in them. I took my keys and walked away—who knows what they would have done to my car after all this hassling? This is totally unacceptable customer service, with misleading pricing and sudden price changes without any reasonable justification. It felt like they were pressuring me to accept whatever they say.

It's also worth mentioning that they breached Section 20 of the Consumer Protection Act 1987, which makes it a criminal offense for businesses to mislead customers about pricing.

I will be avoiding the Maidstone Kia dealership in the future!

An excellent choice of dealership

From start to finish the whole procedure of buying my car was very professional. It is my first Kia purchase, my daughter and grandson both own Kia's, so that in itself is a good testimonial.

Marley was very helpful with regard to explaining the cars features. The whole buying process was seamless.

The dealership itself is well staffed and all are friendly

I saw Luke Fairweather at your Norwich…

I saw Luke Fairweather at your Norwich branch.
He couldn't have been more friendly & helpful. Even though I've since cancelled my order, through no fault of Luke or Kia. Even that he was really kind about, as I felt bad to cancel.
I think Luke will go a long way, efficient, helpful & friendly.

under resourced

it seems clear to me that the Couldson dealership is severely under resourced. It is very difficult to get through to the service department (when I succeed they are helpful). By contrast (surprise) the sales dept seems to answer very quickly. So I end up having to leave messages via them

Lloyd Kia Carlisle - OUTSTANDING car purchase experience

Lloyd Kia Carlisle - OUTSTANDING:

In my lifetime I have bought a lot of cars, many used and many new. I think it’s fair to say that changing your car can often be a frustrating, annoying and demanding experience. However, changing my Hyundai for a Sportage at Lloyd Kia Motors in Carlisle, even after spending a lot of money, was a genuine pleasure.

From the start of the buying process to driving off the forecourt I was looked after by Jamie Turnbull, a sales executive of many years at Lloyds and it is clear to see why the company want to retain him. Unlike the majority of car sales executives (yes I’m stereotyping) he’s non pushy, transparently honest and he actually does what he says he will do. Throughout the entire buying process he kept me updated and informed at all times, he explained every point in detail, he forwarded all the required paperwork in a timely manner and he even replied to one of my questions via email at 7pm in the evening.

Dealing with Lloyds Kia in Carlisle, thanks to Jamie has without any doubt been the most pleasurable car purchase I have experienced to date. I would without hesitation highly recommend them to any of my friends, family and colleagues.

And for the cynics, James Turnbull isn’t my brother, this is our first Kia and I live over 100 miles South of Carlisle :o)

Feel let down

I took my car for it's second service 3.2.05 in my ownership. When I took it last year (2024) I rang them on my return home and told them the air filter hadn't been changed and was still dirty and also I was dubious about the oil being changed as it was jet black. I was angry and they told me to return the car to check it over, this should not be happening. When I got the car home yesterday I was gobsmacked to see the air filter had still not been changed again and it's filthy. There is not one finger mark under the dusty bonnet. I rang them again and was told the same thing, return the car to which I replied that I would get an air filter and fit it myself I know it's done then. I will never use Kia main dealers again.

Kia Middlebrook Bolton

Kia Middlebrook Bolton service department. My experience began on Friday the 13th December ironically! I was booked in to have a new front wheel arch cover fitted which had come loose. After maybe 15 minutes i was approached by a member of staff who advised me that their technician had "had a look" and said it needed a new part as the old one was cracked . No problem . I was told they would order the part and I would be contacted when it arrived. Days turned into weeks so I rang them on the 27th of December to be told the part had been in for a while??? OK. Stay calm. Booked in for 9th January 2025 to have it fitted. On the 9th Jan I arrived at 1430 and asked if they could also fit a new courtesy bulb in boot as the current one wasn't working. So I waited for about 2 hours in the waiting area and was approached again to be told they had ordered the wrong part. They has ordered mud guards ??? Obviously these were not what I required and I was told they had the correct part in stock all along!!! Come back tomorrow. At this point I asked for a discount and was told after some time that they would give me 10% and not charge me for any work they had done today (oh the bulb had been fitted) . I returned on the 10th Jan 2025 and they fitted the correct part at last. On receiving the bill they had indeed knocked 10% off the bill ( about £15 ) . I got home, examined the invoice and they had the audacity to charge me £15 to have that bulb fitted!!! I couldn't be bothered going back again to complain. I WILL NOT be returning.

Kia Maidstone

Car had its first service recently and Charley and her team were great and I hope my response to survey made this clear. There were a couple of things to follow up. Car was booked in and everything seems to be working fine now. I also had a call from Michael to discuss my concerns. It is great when companies have a focus on dealing with the issues and I can only recommend these guys for their service and commitment to sort things out. Hoping to have a long lasting relationship with Kia Maidstone.

From the first time we went to Kia…

From the first time we went to Kia showroom, Tom Chaplin made us welcome , showing us sorento , explaining which model had what . We decided to go for the Sorento 4. There was no hard sell which we liked. He explained about the process in detail. We asked lots of questions which he answered clearly. Tom was polite knowledgeable and very helpful. We picked up the car yesterday he spent a good hour showing us the gadgets and there was lots of them. He set up my phone to the car etc. always with a smile. Thank you Tom for all your help. Kia he is a great asset to your team. Sure he will go far.

Disappointing Experience with Kia

Disappointing Experience with Kia – Lack of Accountability and Respect for Data Protection

I expected much better from a globally recognized brand like Kia, but my recent experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. After purchasing a vehicle, my personal data was mishandled by a Kia-recommended dealership, Ashford Orbital (part of the JCB Group). My information was used for unsolicited marketing without my consent, in clear violation of GDPR.

Despite raising the issue and submitting a formal Subject Access Request, the dealership failed to respond appropriately, showing a blatant disregard for data protection laws and my rights as a customer. Kia’s response has been equally disappointing. Initially, they seemed keen to help resolve the matter but later backtracked, refusing to take responsibility for the conduct of their affiliated dealership.

What makes this worse is that Kia’s own Customer Services recommended this dealership to me. I trusted their endorsement, expecting high standards of professionalism and legal compliance. Instead, I’ve been met with contradictory responses, emotional stress, and a complete lack of accountability.

As a disabled customer, I am appalled by the disregard shown for my privacy and rights. This experience has severely damaged my trust in Kia as a brand, and it’s clear that they prioritize marketing and financial gain over customer care and legal obligations.

I had hoped for a reputable company that values feedback and strives for improvement, but this experience has been diabolical. I will think twice before ever considering Kia again and would urge others to be cautious when dealing with their affiliated dealerships.

KIA Feeder Road Bristol

I went to KIA Feeder Road Bristol this morning because I had low tyre pressure on the off side front wheel which would not right itself. Although I did not have an appointment, KIA service department went the extra mile to help me. The two staff were amazing both reception Claire and Technican Alan. A big thank you for getting me back on the road.
I would recommend.

Andy Harkness Kia X-CEED 24 plate

Bought a used Kia X-CEED 24 plate in November from Kia Carlisle and the salesman Andy Harkness went above and beyond to help us. We didn't have a car as we had sold ours previously and were let down by another Kia dealer. Andy got us a loan car until the car was prepared for us. I picked up the car and it is perfect. Thank you Andy for all your help!
