Dean's Car Check is a UK vehicle history check. You put in a registration and we tell you what the official record says about that car — before your money leaves your hand. The free check confirms the vehicle and gives you MOT and tax status, make, model, year, colour, fuel and engine. Paid reports go further: insurance write-off and salvage markers, police stolen markers, scrapped status, imports and exports, plate and VIN history, previous keepers, mileage history and anomalies, and the full MOT record with every pass, failure and advisory. Our upper reports add the two money questions — whether finance is still owed on the car, and what it is worth. Our Guided Gold report goes through every section and explains what your car's own results mean, and what they do not. We use official and licensed sources: DVLA vehicle data, DVSA MOT history, licensed provenance and risk data, and finance data powered by Experian. Every source is named publicly on our site. Two things we will not do. We will not guess — where the record holds no fact, we report Unknown rather than dressing a gap up as good news. And we will not pretend to be something we are not: this is a check of the official records, and nobody visits the car. It is not a mechanical inspection. One payment per report.
