A very bad experience with DEAS

A very bad experience with DEAS. DEAS admin are not cooperative and helpful at all-this is my experience. Always remember you will not get deposit back even one has to pay more on the top of deposit.
my story (two bedroom apartment 53 sq met): 1. DEAS is very nice when you moving in but very bad when you are moving out. 2. I lived in DEAS apartment, 3. before moving out I called a person from DEAS to guide me what to do and what not, He came for inspection and he told me to do only paint the rest is just common usage and fine, and then I painted the whole apartment according to the instructions, on the moving inspection day the caretaker was checking each and everything not visually but by touching hands. He mentioned that the celling of one room (5 cm spot) was not painted nicely, and two windows pad and one door, so for these they charged me 6000 kr.
4. the inspection person also noticed by hands that three tiles on the washroom wall are not cleaned enough because he can feel dried water drops:) and kitchen bench common usage, for these they charged me 5250 kr.
5. for Floor polishing they charged me 3188 kr. So what happened next was that DEAS sent me faktura (invoice) to pay +1300:) more.
Even I requested them before giving notice to use my maintenance fund (which is 12000 kr associated with my account) for this apartment. I do not know where my maintenance fund will go:)-if these are the rules-then very very strange. I saw also in the reviews-DEAS replied to all please send information to their email ID they will look into matter...they do not reply.

When a tenant renovates the apartment before moving out, it is important to keep in mind that both quality and materials must be at the same level as if you got a professional craftsman to do the work. The new tenant will – rightly – expect this.

If, for example, the quality of paint work is not at a craft level, or has not been painted with the right color or quality, the landlord will be forced to repaint before the new tenant moves in.

The same goes for the cleaning of the apartment.

Awful support

Never again with DEAS A/S

2 months before we moved out of our apartment the administration changed to DEAS.

At the last inspection they where very kean when it comes to finding every little scratch or skrew that needed fixing, it took 2 hours. But that's how it is in Denmark.

So, we waited to get news about our deposit and hope to see the bills. Unfortunately we heard nothing for 2 months long.

We called them 25th of May, about 5 weeks ago. They said they are still waiting for the painting bill, but we would get the money ASAP.

We indeed got a bill, but it was for us. They increased the rent from January retrospectively, so we owe them a few months extra rent. Then we got another bill which said we didn't pay the increase in rent from the year before, so that will also be added on top. Nice.

Even until today, there is still radio silence about our deposit. We tried to call them the last couple of days, and suddenly it's very hard to get in contact with the right person. They are not calling back even when they promised they would.

This is not ok. More that 10 weeks after we gave back the keys, all we received so far are more bills and a lot of frustration. Next time I will do my research and not rent from anywhere again where DEAS is in charge of the administration.

We have been living in a DEAS-managed…

We have been living in a DEAS-managed apartment for more than 2 years. Everything was smooth from the moving in. If we had any problem, we just opened a ticket in DEAS's app and they come and fix it. Great service, I can only recommend them!

Decent living, bad service from administration

The accommodation is fine, the building is fine, the super is actually nice, but the administration talks to you like you are a simpleton, makes you feel very unwelcome, and generally is not service-minded at all. Probably would have had a lot better experience of living here if the administration realized that they are actually a service provider, and treated the tenants with just a little bit of respect, even when they deliver bad news or the tenant is in the wrong.

Please "stram op" in your administration, DEAS.

Scam

Scam. They hunt newcomers to Denmark. I stayed more than 2 years in their apartment. They have always responded to my issues very late and with the cheapest products.

When I moved out they charged me 1 more month. They claimed that I notified them 1 day late because my message was not in the office hours. If you want to meet with very poor, cheaty, and dishonest people and services, go ahead.

After I moved out they put it in another ad which is 300 DKK cheaper than my rental price.

Poor, pathetic service minded

I have been living in the apartment from DEAS A/S for 6 years.
In the last 2~3 years, there has been a frequent backflow from the drain at the kitchen sink. We were informed that this is because the main pipe cannot hold all the oily stuff from households.

We have experienced several times of severe backflow that made the dirty water flow out from the sink and soaked everything around it (use your imagination).
Nevertheless, we could only call the service on-demand only when the water actually filled the sink. Otherwise, we had to arrange the schedule to get one.

Despite the extremely stressful situation, DEAS said since they are providing the service (no matter what, it is damn slow and unfriendly), they did their job and cannot provide any compensation. Still, it seems that they don't care about replacing the main pipe!

However, the sad part is they will still get a decent amount of rent every month, increase the rent regularly and take all your deposit (abandon your hope!).

Only cares about money, not the customers

Professional company, I have been involved with them for 4 years. Apartments of good quality.
Every time I asked for a small service, got denied.
But you can be sure they will lift mountains to get every pennies.
You also can expect to lose most of your deposit.

Wished they would be more empathetic

I really really wanted to like this apartment but because of how DEAs have little empathy for its renters and is indeed simply a money collector as mentioned by others in a few posts below.

Moved into a new apartment in Sydhavn and issues started to arise:

1) Move in date was 1 june but was told end May that we might not be allowed to move in due to them not being able to get the permit in time. (Even though they said apartments were ready to move in from the 15th of May) This sent us to panic as we had ALL our furniture that we had to move.

2) No rubbish dumping area for at least 3 weeks plus there was no information where I could dump my trash at all. At least some signage on the notice boards with information or something...

3) You couldn't google my apartment for MONTHS so postman/delivery man could not find my apartment.

4) Could not connect the lights as they were using a new system that i was not used to in the old apartments. So they sent TWO electricians to come to my place for a grand total of 5minutes and i was BILLED 1000kr. They could have simply offered us some advice through the building manager or gave us some suggestions on what we should try to plug into instead if they really cared. i mean we are living in corona times, the best they can do is to have EMPATHY.

After reading the reviews and experiencing the above myself, I am scared to death of what they might charge us when we move out. I just wished that they would try to put in more effort in remedying solutions and not just charging people immediately.

DEAS takes over the property when it is ready for occupancy, after which we try to do our best to make the new residents happy and satisfied. Often, however, it is the former contractor who is responsible for errors and omissions from the construction period, and therefore it is the contractor and not DEAS who must rectify these errors and omissions.

no answer , no deposit

This is my exact experience with my apartment from DEAS and their service:
I rented an apartment in Odense, Gartnerbyen for less than 1 year. At first they seemed to be very careful about their customers but then they appeared with no response to phone calls and emails.
I moved out from my apartment 2 months ago but despite their policies about deposit which says i should receive my deposit back after 6 weeks , and also their delayed email which says i should receive my deposit after 8-10 weeks i still have no deposit back and also no response to my emails and phone calls.
Be carful about your deposit guys.
Im still waiting to hear from Deas about my deposit

Very poor service, totally inconsiderate

Many reviews describe DEAS as being indifferent to the tenant, inconsiderate, untrustworthy, and I couldn't agree more. Use them at your own risk, as you will have to follow up on everything, and deal with their incompetent administration. I actually followed the advice of the many reviews here to stay away and cancelled after going through the whole process.

After applying on Findbolig.nu, I received a notification of a viewing time, which I had no say over. After the viewing, I was first on the list, but I wanted to view the apartment again, so I asked if I could have a second viewing. They initially said no, then after a couple days, informed me to see it at a specific time. Again, they did not ask whether I would be available at that time. Then, on the last day with which I could sign my contract, they informed me the viewing appointment is cancelled because it is too close to the inspection date, even thought they set both dates themselves. This tells me that they just want to cut corners and save all costs at the expense of the tenant. Based on the reviews I read, I had expected to lose my whole deposit (and maybe more). Also, given the higher price of DEAS apartments, all I ask for is some decent service, but this is not something they can deliver.

Consider carefully if you want to use this company

I was going to rent an apartment from DEAS, that had been empty for a very long time according to neighbours (3 rooms, 15500dkk/month). I agreed to start the rental 15 days earlier than needed, per request/advice of the presenter of the apartment, in order to "ensure we get the apartment". The showing the apartment -part was done well, with a helpful and friendly person. This is apparently a service DEAS buys "from outside".

I was given an written offer on findbolig.nu according to the agreed, and said yes to it. A few days later i receive a contract for signing, but it was not according to the offer given - they tried to add the full month in advance. I thought it might have been a small mistake, so i pointed it out, including a screenshot of the offer i had been given. After a few to-and-fro emails bordering on rude (basically claiming i did not know what i had agreed) with the "Administration team" I was sent a screenshot of the contract - with the errors i had pointed out in the first place - as proof that i was wrong, and should just sign up and pay the extra ¨8000kr.

This seemed very odd to me, so I checked the company here, on Trustpilot. And can see that there is any amount of complaints about this kind of incidents - basically trying to squeeze any petty extra amount out of the customers, with what appears as a very lax approach to agreements and even legal limits. Combined with all the reports of the troubles with getting deposits etc back, I decided not to place myself in a position of dependency of what seems like predatory way of doing business - even if it at this point presented a big problem to us since so much time had already been wasted, and we needed a new apartment urgently.

I would also suggest that you consider the polarization of the comments in here, currently with a roughly 50/50 division of 5 stars and 1 star (and also check how many of the good reviews are "invited" reviews).

DEAS seems strangely hell-bent on prioritising bad service over satisfied customers, even when you actually try to give them money.

It depends

Your experience will vary depending on whether you move in or out.
It was quite good experience with moving in, quite ok when living in and very bad when moving out.
When we moved in, the check-in was very relaxed and the guy made an impression that not everything needs to be reported as faults as they will not be so serious when we move out. That was a mistake that you will pay for.
They are rather slow on doing the maintenance of the apartment in case something goes wrong. E.g, our drier did not work when we moved in. We reported that and although smb was supposed to come and fix it, nobody ever came. Since we do not normally use the drier, we did not insist on fixing it. But then we ended up paying for fixing it when we moved out. Otherwise they did fix most of small things, but, yes, sometimes you needed to follow up on those fixes.
The check-out inspector was very rude, we had never met such a rude guy in Denmark before. Looks like their personal bonus depends on how much money they will claim from your deposit. We had the walls and floors fixed and they could not take money for that. So they would price ridiculous amount for other things. E.g. we had two tiny spots on the bathroom doors that we could not clean. They claimed that they would need to replace the whole door for that. Let’s be honest, they charged us for that and never changed the door. But since we don’t live there anymore, we cannot check that.
