I was really impressed with Deerbox and the way their venison is sourced.
One of the things that stood out to me is that the deer are wild animals living in their natural environment, rather than being farmed. They are humanely dispatched by trained marksmen using a precise headshot, which ensures the animal dies instantly without prolonged fear, stress, or suffering.
This approach avoids many of the issues associated with intensive farming and abattoirs, where animals can experience confinement and distress before slaughter. Knowing the animal lived naturally in the wild and was harvested quickly and responsibly makes a big difference to me from an ethical point of view.
I also believe that a wild animal’s natural lifestyle and diet contributes to the quality of the meat. The venison has excellent flavour and you can really taste the difference compared with farmed alternatives.
If you care about ethical sourcing, humane harvesting, and high-quality wild venison, Deerbox is a fantastic option. I’ll definitely be ordering again.

First order from Deer Box and I am very impressed. The packaging was excellent with everything still frozen solid when it arrived which it did the next day after dispatch. The combination of the wool insulation and frozen water packs would keep food frozen for quite a bit longer I should imagine.
So far only tried venison koftas and the bacon out of our order both of which were excellent and will be having again.
Everything else we ordered is vacuum packed and looks good so looking forward to trying.

Ordered Venison mince whilst on offer, it made a great Spag Bol, looking forward to the Boar and Apple chipolatas tonight.

Quality product, delivered exactly on the date of my choosing. While the diced venison was billed as 'casserole' the meat was top notch and cut in sensibly sized pieces.

The venison is excellent, that’s why I keep coming back for more. Really helpful staff too who put together a perfect order for me.

My only complaint, the choice of delivery partner. In my area DHL are very poor. This time they arrived a couple of hours after their delivery window and simply dumped my order on the front door step without knocking. I only knew it had been delivered when I received an e mail.

Not the fault of Deer Box but I wish there was an alternative to DHL.

I have been a regular and faithful customer of Deerbox for two years now. As a South African meat eater and braai umfundi , I was attracted to Deerbox by the fact that this high quality , healthy meat was harvested WITHOUT THE ANIMAL GOING THROUGH THE STRESS AND TRAUMA OF THE INDUSTRIALUSED ABBATOIR SYSTEM. I have tried to reduce my consumption of beef, pork and lamb for this main reason. As a former hunter and wild game biltong maker the idea of an animal dying with the minimum of stress is an important factor for me. Deerbox venison is harvested from the wild in this manner. I have found all Deerbox venison and boar products of exceptional quality. I love the sustainable packaging, the easy online ordering and efficient delivery system -all outstanding. Deerbox has never disappointed and I have found my monthly order economical and affordable. Five star enterprise, Gold star customer service and Gold star products. I cannot recommend Deerbox enough and will remain a regular customer.
