It was truly a dream-like week. As expat parents in a foreign country, feeling overwhelmed and not knowing what to do with a newborn, we never once felt alone. Paula and Sonja cared for our baby as if he were their own child or grandchild.

Without a second of pause, they took care of all the household tasks and, on top of that, supported me as a mother with such kindness and warmth that I genuinely felt healed.

Including my mother and my husband, we all felt incredibly supported and cared for throughout this time.

Our heartfelt thanks to the entire team, especially Paula and Sonja. Who knows, perhaps our paths will cross again someday :)

Our experience with Kraamzorg was very pleasant and helpful. Our nurse, Jacqueline, was very supportive and knowledgeable about caring for babies. She was always on time, helping around the house and babysitting if I needed a nap after a sleepless night. She helped me with breastfeeding and establishing a routine, which is now very helpful every day. I would like to express my gratitude to the organization and its staff; you do a wonderful job.

We had great experience with Kraamvogel in Utrecht. 3-4 hours a day with the same midwife who was so patient, nice and calm. She teached us a lot during our first week and helped my husband a lot around the house and with the baby, given I had a C-section and recovery was very painful.
We also had the opportunity to extend care for some extra days if needed

They were all really kind and helpful with everything. I got Laura, Carin and Chanel and they did an amazing job helping me and the baby and passing good information. Thank you!

’m so grateful for the wonderful care I received from the nurse at The Maternity Bird - Famike . She took care of me and my baby with such kindness and professionalism every day for 4 hours, and her presence made those early days of motherhood so much easier and more comforting.

She was always gentle, attentive, and truly understood the emotional side of being a new mother. She not only supported me physically but also emotionally — always ready to listen, encourage, and remind me to rest and take things one step at a time. Her calm and positive attitude gave me confidence in caring for my newborn.

I really appreciated how she shared helpful tips on baby care, breastfeeding, and self-care — small things that made a big difference in my recovery and daily routine. She treated my baby with so much love and care, as if it were her own.

To future moms: trust the process, allow yourself to heal, and don’t be afraid to accept help. Having the right support — like I had from The Maternity Bird — makes the journey truly beautiful.

I received the best care anyone would wish for. I had two nurses (Ellen and Els). There was care, respect and lots of knowledge on the new born. They were kind and clean. I would definitely recommend.

The worst Kraamzorg ever, do not waste and spoil this special time with these unprofessional people, they just care about money, once you subscribe with them it is done you do not have the option to cancel after, they sent you contract the moment you subscribe to protect themselves and gives you 14 days to make up your mind without even talking to anyone or even see who is the lady that would take care of your newborn. They said if you do not feel the click with the one we assign we can send another one! and what if I do not want to deal with you at all anymore??!! no option sorry you have to pay us EUR150 cancelation after 14 days of the grace period!! Completely unprofessionals and robotic people stick to the same sentence "In the contract it is written you have 14 days to cancel!!" I understand what is written in this contract but I do not understand why shall I stay with you if I do not like you and why you are arranging the intake call after the 14 days are passed, let me tell you, to make sure people will stick with you regardless otherwise pay us EUR 150.Just FYI, the proper company they first arrange the intake call or meeting the professional lady first then gives you the time to decide, not based on any contract that you can write whatever you want in!

After you amazing reply and comment below @Kraamvogel, I do not need any wishes from you, you have already messed it up and spoiled this precious time, however my wish to you is for this comment to reach everyone before getting tricked with your contract trap, and never to sign up to your company, and I will make sure this to reach everyone I know and for them to reach everyone they know, you value money over anything else thats why you should not be in this line of Business, this Business means "CARE" over anything else.

This is the second time we used Kraamvogel and both times have been consistently amazing experiences. Such wonderful, caring, helpful and kind nurses came to us each time. Even if there is a nurse that you don’t get along with, Kraamvogel is always open to replace with another nurse.
I must say with a toddler and a newborn, the first week with KraamZorg was such a blessing! Cleaned the whole house, laundry and made sure I was eating properly and taking enough fluids - was like being on holiday!

I am extremely disappointed with Kraamvogel's administrative practices. My midwife advised me to register with several kraamzorg providers due to high demand. When I decided to go with a different provider and requested to cancel my Kraamvogel registration, I was informed of a €150 cancellation fee.
Their terms and conditions vaguely state "cancellation fees may apply" and "as soon as possible" without mentioning a fixed amount or specific timeframe. Kraamvogel claims this fee is due if cancellation isn't within 14 days of a confirmation email, an email I unfortunately missed.
When I contacted their administration to clarify if I could still cancel without a fee (as their T&Cs were unclear), my registration was suddenly cancelled without my explicit request, and the €150 fee was charged. My attempt to discuss this with Annamarie on the phone was met with unhelpful and dismissive responses, including her hanging up on me and refusing to re-open my registration when I tried to explain the misunderstanding.
This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing, especially during pregnancy. Kraamvogel needs to urgently update their terms and conditions to clearly state cancellation fees and deadlines on their website.

We are 100% happy about Kraamvogel! Everything went well during our week with the kraamzorg (thanks Leonie for everything you've done!!)
The advice, the availability, the communication for me as a non Dutch speaker, the understanding, the care, I could go on.
We recommend Kraamvogel to anyone who is looking for a good kraamzorg

We were very happy with the care we received. Jacqueline was very hands on and helped us become familiar with the basics of caring for our first child. She also provided lots of explanations and additional guidance as needed, including plenty of good notes for us to look back on afterwards. Thank you for making this such a pleasant experience!

Very helpful with getting breast feeding going and sharing practical care advise. Also, really helped that I could sleep during the kraamzorg visits. We had two really great ladies for the first and last four days, first half was half a day and the second half full day. Very grateful for the support. Communication around scheduling could be improved

I had the pleasure of having Fleur as my maternity nurse, and I couldn't have asked for a better caregiver. From the moment she started, she was incredibly kind, patient, and supportive, making my postpartum experience much smoother.

Her dedication and professionalism were evident in everything she did. She provided excellent care for both me and my baby Oreoluwa, always ensuring we were comfortable and well taken care of. She was knowledgeable, attentive, and always willing to help, offering great advice and practical assistance that made a big difference.

Fleur’s warm and compassionate nature made her feel like part of the family. I truly appreciate her hard work and the love she put into her care. I highly recommend her to any new mother in need of a skilled, caring, and supportive maternity nurse.

Wonderful Kraamzorg Experience with Angelique.
We moved to the Netherlands only 7 month ago and I was a bit worried because of the differences with my country of origin that they have here regarding birth and child care during the first days but it turned out to be a GREAT experience even though I was home from the hospital only 4 hours after giving birth where a first Kraamzorg (Ria) along with the midwife helped me during this process and made for me a completely natural birth possible.
After that, I had the pleasure of having Angelique as our kraamzorg during the first week of our son Leon, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. She was truly amazing from start to finish. With over 30 years of experience, Angelique’s expertise shone through in everything she did and taught us. She always shared the most up-to-date information and practical tips, clearly staying on top of the latest research in childcare.
Angelique helped with all aspects of caring for our newborn and ensured we felt comfortable every step of the way. She also helped us with some shores of the house and checked my stitches and recovery after birth.
Her calm, caring nature and genuine love for her work made our first week at home with our baby so much easier. We are grateful for her support and dedication.
Using the kraamvogel service is truly the best way to bring your child into the world. Personally I think the best you can do for your child is share this first week with him/her and your partner only. There is plenty of time for family and friend afterwards that sometimes do not have the best advice and can be stressfull for you and your child. On the other hand, the kraamzorg is a professional maternity nurse that is there to really show you what you need to know about your child.
With great experiences like this is easy and wonderful to bring children into the world.

Jannie is not only a fantastic professional, but she is also a fantastic person. It is clear it is not just a job for her. She cares about people and she can navigate all personalities very well. She is very respectful and kind, she made us feel very at ease with our baby. She has equipped us with the knowledge and tools to make us confident we could take care of our son well, even if we have zero experience. She is full of tips and tricks and she is has a great wealth of information. She has many years of experience and that shows in how much she knows and how well she can teach. She does not mind a thousand questions and she is always happy to help. She is proactive and she made sure we were taken care of as much as our baby. We have enjoyed having her with us immensely and we were so grateful for her. Our baby had to go to the hospital for one night because of high bilirubin and the planning team made sure we could have Jannie back when we came back home; we are so grateful to them for that, too. We are not people who feel comfortable having strangers or even visitors at home, but not only did we not mind having her with us, but were extremely glad for it. We wish she could continue coming every day forever!

We had a wonderful experience with the kraamzorg through De Kraamvogel. After coming home with our new baby we did not have much knowledge on baby basics such as breastfeeding, diaper changing and sleep schedules. Dagmar helped us get on track during the course of the week. By the end, I had learned so much and now feel confident with breastfeeding and am continuing to make progress with my new knowledge. It was also a great help to have someone on hand to help us for the early days. We are very grateful for this service.

More than we could have ever asked for! As internationals in the NL our caregiver was like our mother and our child's grandma, Danielle was truly the best caretaker we could have had!
