Never to this bike shop

We took the bike to this bike shop due to a flat tire. The tire and tube had been renovated in another bike shop only 2-3 weeks ago, but this time we took the bike to Dennis due to it's proximity. I myself can do a lot of technical jobs but that day my wife had the bike. Dennis then contacts my wife and raises a lot of other issues which was not asked for. He told that the tire is not a good quality (although it was new Schwalbe) and tyre and tube both has to be exchanged. Then he says the pedals are scratching and has to be renovated. Also the brake pads (disk brakes) and brake's entire hydraulic system has to be fixed. So, for a flat tyre as an initial problem which would take 150 DKK to exchange the inner tube according to their own price list he gave an offer of 3681 DKK. This is exceptionally unbelievable! Sorry Dennis you can claim that you have 8000 happy customers, you can also say 80000 if you want, but reality shows something else. The fact that you have SO MUCH time to reply to your negative reviews with such looong texts indicates you are really out of job. Your extremely rude and insulting to your reviews shows exactly your cheating character. I was lucky to got to know of your offer and block it immediately. Good luck with writing your insulting replies to your "happy" customers and I am confident your business will be smashed to the ground very soon.

Hi Mehdi!

Thanks for taking the time. I'll keep this short and sweet:

With you knowing how to do technical things, I suspect none of this is new to you.

1) The tire on the bike, you know, the one that LITERALLY blew off the rim, was indeed low quality, and has a damaged wire bead. It's in no shape or form a tire that will support you, let alone your cargo bike.

2) I'm sorry you feel that I raised a lot of issues "you did not ask for". As per our policy, we ALWAYS go through bikes tip to tail. We ALWAYS let customers know what we found, and let them decide weather or not to fix issues.

3) We do not replace tubes on giant cargo bikes with electrical motors in the rear hub for 150,-. Not even close. Going to a place that charges you 150,- for that IS WHAT GOT YOU IN THIS SITUATION TO BEGIN WITH.

4) Thank you, we're up to about 13.000 happy customers now. Well, 13.000 minus Mehdi. I will happily not take your business, thank you.

5) As to how we're "out of job", I will implore you to remember when you came by our shop to pick up your key. Did you notice the 40-50 customer bikes there? Remember how I wiggled to get around them? Truly a sight to behold. At this time of writing, which I do on a Wednesday night, on my time off, we have 46 bikes due within the next 7 days. Good times.

6) Your wife called me, and asked specifically if we could help, as the tire (remember, the high quality one you had fixed for 150,-) blew out, on the bike you transport your kids to school in (super safe, grade A). The school is close to our shop, and out of sympathy, I agreed to help- EVEN THOUGH WE DO NOT WORK ON CARGO BIKES. I'm glad you decided to intervene on us helping you out, especially with your technical acumen in mind. You've got this.

Thanks Mehdi!

Customer Service Meets Technical Expertise

You WILL NOT FIND a more technically competent or service-minded repair shop in the city, perhaps even the whole country.

Dennis is a master for hydraulic brakes, wheel building from scratch & countless other repairs. There’s nobody else I would trust.

The personal touch is something that I struggle to place a value on, they are simply the best. It certainly will not be the cheapest, but I guarantee it’s the best. And servicing a bike with Dennis is just the beginning of a relationship that will last for the rest of your cycling life:)

Only Bike Shop The City Needs

I have been going to Dennis for years now, I suppose it’s time to write a review.

One’s sense of community is reinforced by the small shops and vendors that you know and drop into sometimes just to say hello. This has always been my experience with Dennis’s shop. I can’t tell you how many people pass by for a quick piece of advice, or even just a small chat when I’m there doing the same. On top of professional service and expertise, these are the traits that make shops like this invaluable to the city. Dennis is the kind of guy that welcomes you into his place in the manner of a friend, not a customer.

For jobs big and small, Dennis is the man. He know his stuff and always gives you the answer you need (occasionally not the answer you want to hear, but that’s the nature of being a qualified professional).

My corner cafe, my florist, my doctor, my wine bar… these are the places that make living in my little section of the world amazing. Add to that list, my bike shop, and my world is complete. Thanks Dennis and see you soon
