My first travel with DV – Very Disappointing
Hey Everyone,
I had travelled with DV first time. Unfortunately my first trip with them was completely ruined. I would suggest you think twice before planning with them.
Might be some people may have had good experiences with DV. up to your choice.
When I booked my travel, I was told the group would have 7–8 people. I asked many times to confirm the group size, and every time I was told the same thing. My flight tickets were booked based on this information.
But just one day before my departure, I was informed that only 3 people (including me) were traveling because others had backed out. This was a complete surprise and not my fault. Still, the experience turned out to be very bad.
Hotel Issue:
From the beginning, I was told we would stay at Gems Sora in Ho Chi Minh. But when we reached on 31 January, we were taken to another branch called Hotel Gems. The hotel did not even have our booking ID. We had to call DV to send the booking details before they allowed us to check in.
When I saw the room, it was very disappointing. It was like a small box with no window or outside view, even though it was supposed to be a 4-star hotel. When we complained and asked to change the hotel, there was no proper response.
We were also told there would be no guide because the guide had gone back to India due to an emergency. Only after we insisted, they arranged one.
Cu Chi Tunnel Activity:
No private transfer was provided. We were sent in a shared traveler bus with many other people. After the activity, there was nothing planned. It felt like a waste of time.
Da Nang Travel:
Instead of booking a morning flight, they booked a cheap afternoon flight. We reached around 7 PM, and the market was 4–5 km away. We were tired and couldn’t explore much. One more day wasted.
Next Day Issue:
We were told to reach at 7:45 AM, then suddenly the timing was changed to 7:40 AM. Because breakfast was slightly delayed, we reached at 7:50 AM. The guide shouted at us for being just 5 minutes late. It felt like being scolded in school.
At Bana Hills, it was rainy and foggy. We couldn’t see clearly and were trying to find our way. The guide called and told us to come fast for the cable car. Because of the fog, we were delayed. She said they were leaving and we should come on our own. When we finally reached, she shouted again. Very unprofessional behavior.
Hanoi Travel:
Again, they booked an afternoon flight. We reached around 7:30 PM and lost the whole day. At the hotel, once again there was no booking ID available. We had to call DV to send it. This happened more than once, which shows poor coordination.
When our group of 3 raised all these issues, we were just told, “We are tracking.” No clear solution was given.
When I asked for compensation, I was told it would be decided in my next tour because DV is in loss. Refund was denied. They offered a 5K voucher, which is not acceptable considering how badly the trip was managed. When I asked to speak with the owner, I was told he is out of India.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and my first international group trip was completely spoiled.
