Obviously a scam company

Obviously a scam company. They get you to pay a few pence for a fictitious service then charge a further £29.95. Good job I checked. Of course the bank cancelled my card just in case. It's no coincidence the next day I got four scam potential fraud phone calls. Please stay away from this lot.
As a response to device tracker. There was no way visible that that indicated that i was contracted into a subscription. The Web stated it was free than when I got to the search stage it wanted me to pay a negligable sum of money. Often used by scammers to get to a bank account. Then I further investigated to find that I was going to be invoiced £29.95 on the 16th of May not the 17th. Giving little time to get redress. Also the so called tracker didn't find my partner's phone. Despite phone trackers reply I firmly believe that they are scammers. Yes I got caught by two other scam sites but only for a couple of pounds because I immediately got my bank to put a stop on any payments to these 3 sites. Yes I was silly but my partner was really distressed and I got caught up in the moment. This is how they prey on people in distressing moments. So device tracker shame on you!

For clarity, we will try to address each of your complaints over the iterations;

1. "You advertised the service as free"

I just want to start by confirming that he service is not advertised as being free anywhere, and never has been at any time.

2. "I had no way of knowing I was agreeing to a subscription"

I can confirm that the pricing is made explicitly clear on website, and again on the checkout, before you are required to enter your payment details and click subscribe.

Furthermore, an email containing all of the billing information, including next payment date, was sent to you immediately after you created your subscription. This email is confirmed by Sendgrid as delivered and read a few seconds after being sent to you.

3. "I was billed on the 16th May, even though payment was due on the 17th"

I can confirm that we have emailed you evidence to show that no such payment was made. The change in your review suggests that you have now had time to review the information we provided.

4. "I discovered that I was due to be billed on the 16th, even though it should have been the 17th"

We were a little surprised by this claim, considering your two previous claims. However, we have emailed you evidence to show the payment was scheduled for the 17th, as per the billing schedule you agreed to.

5. "The service didn't work"

As evidenced to you in an email, after you created the subscription you regrettably did not install the software onto any device, therefore you never had an opportunity to try the service.

We have sent you a clear guide on how to install the software and use the features.

6. "You called me four times the day after I subscribed"

I can confirm that we do not do outbound calls at any time under any circumstances.

Device Tracker Plus is the longest running service of it's kind and has served family tracking solutions to millions of customers over the last 10 years.

I can see from your other recent reviews that you also subscribed to several other, similar services. Considering the nature of your claims it would seem likely that you have us confused with one or more of those.

We are genuinely sorry to hear that your experience of using multiple services has been confusing and slightly distressing, and would love to invite you back to try our service - once you do we are confident that you will agree that it is the best service available.

Possible SCAM - Be very careful with these lot

Be very careful with these lot. I signed up for a two day trial (at 0.99GBP) Then started to read stories about people being unable to cancel and being charged full price .

Tried to cancel, and despite getting a "pop-up" saying that my account had been cancelled ,I have yet to recieve any email confirming this.....another "red flag"

I have now contacted my bank and instructed them to block any further transaction from MOOTPAY dot com/DTP

I should also add, that in addition to pressing "cancel" , I have also email. All this information has been passed onto my bank. I will also be contacting Action Fraud to notify them

So almost a day later, I have now received an email confirming my account has been cancelled (shouldn't take that long for an automated response to be sent out)

Again, just to re-iterate....avoid this service. Life360 is a much better (and estabished ) service.

While we're obviously very sorry to hear you did not enjoy your trial period, we can see that you were able to successfully use the software on your Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, and there do not appear to be any error logs associated with your subscription that could indicate a problem when using a specific feature. Was there a particular issue you experienced when using the service?

I can confirm that your subscription was cancelled at 14:08 yesterday (14/04/2028). This action was completed when you clicked on the 'Cancel account' button within your online account. While we’re very sorry to hear that the cancellation confirmation email didn't come through straight away, we are pleased that the account was immediately confirmed to you as cancelled - hopefully this was enough to put your mind at ease a little while you were waiting for the confirmation email.

We’d really love to know a bit more about specifically what it was about the service and/or the cancellation process you were most unhappy with? As things stand we can see that the service worked as intended on your device, and the subscription stopped immediately when you cancelled it (As confirmed by the pop-up), so it would be good to find out a bit more about the nature of your complaint if possible.

MOOOTPAY doesn't exist so you can not even trace them back, because it will show MOOTPAY instead

I have looked into this for you and can confirm the following;

- You created a subscription on our website and were able to access and use the software without any issues.
- Your subscription fee was actually declined by your bank due to insufficient funds being available, so you were not actually charged the subscription fee.
- You haven't contacted us at any time to make us aware of any other issues you may have experienced.
- I have cancelled your subscription to prevent the declined payment from being attempted again. Unfortunately this does mean that you will immediately lose access to the software.

Could you please either reply to any of the emails you have received from us since creating your subscription, or contact us on support@devicetrackerplus.com to clarify how it is we can assist you? Please note that if you are enquiring about the declined payment we will be unable to assist you with this. You will need to contact your bank directly for more information.

On a final note, thank you for pointing out the typo in the descriptor - this has now been corrected. However, I have searched the descriptor in Google and can see that, even with the spelling mistake, it still takes you directly to the correct website, so feel free to submit the contact form on the website to contact us if that is more convenient for you.

SCAM

SCAM.
was under the impression that I was to pay 0.99p to sign up to this service and then to my amazement they charged me £29.99 2 days after signing up. Disputed this with the 'customer service' team and they were no help at all!!
Customer service is dreadful and not in the least helpful.

1. You created a subscription that was based on a special offer 2-day trial. The information on the checkout makes it clear that if the subscription is not cancelled within this trial period, then the full subscription automatically begins. The full billing information, which includes the precise billing amount and frequency, has to be agreed to before the subscription can be created.
2. You contacted us after the member fee had been processed and we explained to you that the software had been installed and activated and was still in use. We provided the precise details of the device it was installed onto, as well as confirmation of how it was activated.

We're very sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the outcome. We do try to make it as clear as possible how the service and the membership works, but I will pass your feedback on to our marketing team.

CON ARTISTS, DIRT BAGS

If possible i would have given them a negative rating.. it's bullshit, I tried it out and used a number to locate, but already knowing that mobiles location for a fact, which was in Point Cook Melbourne! But this site was telling me that it was somewhere in Central Australia... it's A BULLSHIT SITE, THAT'S RUN BY DIRT BAG PIECES OF SHIT.. DON'T TRUST THEM OR GIVE THEM ANYTHING

We're really sorry to hear that you have misunderstood how the service works. During the sign-up process we allow you to put your phone number in so that we can show you the 'approximate location' of the phone. At this stage this is usually just the country, and to unlock the full location of the phone you just have to create a subscription. If we gave you the full location at this point, you wouldn't need to create a subscription in the first place :-)

So this is why you saw a pin on a map that was "somewhere in Central Australia", and not on the exact location of the phone.

We do try to make this as clear as possible by adding "Approximate Phone Location" in a large, bold font across the top of the screen at this stage, and to be fair I don't think anyone else has ever made this mistake over the last 10 years, so we're pretty confident that it's generally clear enough. I will ask our team to review it now though, just to see if it is actually possible to make it any clearer.

Our team can see from the logs that you unfortunately didn't make it past this stage of the sign-up process, so if you would like to try using the service, just reach out to our team and we can make it happen for you :-)

I feel more relaxed about them being independent

I downloaded Device Tracker Plus so I could stay in better contact with my teens. We use the chat function quite a lot which I find it more reassuring than WhatsApp. You know exactly where they are without nagging them to tell you. The app even tells us how fast they are driving! I feel I can be more relaxed about them being independent. Sometimes we share pictures of our day in our family group. The app is everything I hoped for and more. Would recommend.

Complete con

I signed up, tried to cancel immediately but have been charged for 18 months since. When you try to cancel there are error messages, logging in is almost impossible, the support help on email claim they can’t find your details, despite communicating with you via the registered email. Don’t do it.

Anyone reading the reply below, it’s false. Actually double checked both email inboxes, and the account with device tracker.

Would avoid. Awful customer service and complete scam

I have reviewed your communications with us and can confirm the following;

You first emailed us in March 2024. The team replied within the hour to inform you that there was no active subscription linked to the email address you had contacted us from, and requested some additional information about the payment to help us to locate your subscription (date, amount etc.). Despite not receiving a response from you, our team persevered and over the next 18 months sent more than a dozen emails reminding you that they needed the additional information to be able to locate your subscription and process your request.

When you came back to us today with the information we needed, the team immediately located the correct subscription, cancelled it and sent you a reply to confirm. In the reply that was sent they also informed you of the email address you had used to create the subscription, which was different to the one you had used to contact us.

We deeply regret that this situation was not resolved months ago, but the team have done absolutely everything they could to help you, going above and beyond to try to get the information they needed from you in order to complete your request. While we obviously don't know why you wouldn't reply to any of our communications over those 18 months, if you did not want to deal with us directly you could have contacted your bank at any time during that period to stop any further payments being made.

We're also very sorry to hear that you had trouble accessing your account via the website, but I can now see from the logs that you have been trying to login using the email address you contacted us from, and not the one you used to actually create the subscription.

Hopefully you will give us another try in future, and our team will again do everything they can to assist you whenever you need us.

Beware of Subscription

I tried this 1 time and got set up to a monthly subscription. Naturally I forgot to cancel. 18 months later I realized I was still paying for this. I didn't receive a renewal notice. Not 1 email in the entire 18 months. Beware if using this service.
