Dexcom one+ unsatisfactory product

When I started using Dexcom one+ I paid 100 dollars every 10 days - totally not worth it. It's now funded. When it works it is good. The last 5 I have used I got failed alerts, one within 12hrs. The others 2 to 4 days. I'm always within the 10 meters. It fails just sitting right next to you. I find it frustrating & stressful. Only use it because I don't have to pay. The support team are good & always replace.

Sensor adhesion and customer service replacement

My sensors always fall off a day or 2 early as being an active working male. Don't get me wrong, the dexcom capabilities with communicating with omnipod pump are impressive and a great tool for younger adults. The one problem I have is it seems the dexcom stock drops and now you can only get 2 replacements a year for sensors. Most insurance won't cover unless the 30 day allotment time is up. When this happens, dexcom users are stuck without a cgm to communicate with the omnipod. Dexcom representatives always advise you to buy overpatches, when the 3 pack of g6 sensors are suppose to last 30 days and unfortunately don't always last. If insurance refuses to cover the prescription early I feel consumers shouldn't have to pay extra for an advertised product that doesn't last that long. I have been personally and mentally affected by the multi-layered Healthcare system of no accountability and with getting and maintaining my T1D life savings medications.

Failure after failure after failure

Failure after failure after failure! Outsourced call center to India so absolutely 0 customer service when you call in you can barely understand the agent or the background is so very loud you cannot even hear the agent speaking to you.

CEO makes 15+mil a year yet they have cost cut themselves down so far that the quality of their product has suffered for it.

Sensor failure adhesion application 11/3
Sensor failure to connect to Tslim 11/8
Sensor failure adhesion application 11/19

I mean come on! This is a medical device that should be quality controlled with a little more attention.

Type 1 diabetic experience

As a T1D, do not get a dexcom. Their g7 sensors work maybe half the time if you’re lucky enough to even get the sensor started in the first place. Absolute waste of time and money.

Very inaccurate

Very inaccurate. My blood sugar over the last few days has been showing it’s 50 to 60 points higher than the finger sticks. My Tanden T Slim Control IQ has been making correction bolus adjustments when my sensor says it’s over 239 when the finger stick says it’s 178. Every time I put in a correction because it’s over 20% off the app on my iPhone says the correction was not used and the Tandem says to test again in 15 minutes. The sensor on the back of the arm is ridiculous as their preferred placement. As a side sleeper I get the lows when I put pressure on it. Even as a back sleeper with your arms by your side there’s going to be pressure on it. The abdomen is the best insertion site but I have yet to get a sensor to last more than 10 days because I exercise almost everyday and the sweat ruins the CGM and it gets errors until it errors out. Dexcom replaces them but it’s a hassle to fill out the online form and I have to take pictures of the box so I can provide the Lot# and the transmitter SN#. The G6 was very good but this all in one unit is not ready for prime time and needs to back to beta testing before its release to the public. A two star rating is just being generous.

CONSTANT FAILURE & NO CUSTOMER SERVICE

Had 3 sensors fail in a 6 months period and whilst replacements were sent expediently, two of the failures were back to back. Thus, my health was seriously jeopardised. Customer Service on the failures beyond replacements being sent was non-existent, despite numerous attempted contacts with the company. Even calls between the advertised business hours for support was a waste of time. Emails fell on deaf ears.

Don't waste your time and money with Dexcom and look elsewhere for a better product and customer service.

Pointless

My Dexcom one+alarm woke me at 3am. I was heading for a massive Hypo. I panicked, I didn't want to fall into a coma, so I guzzled a can of full sugar coca cola and munched a handful of glucose tablets. At 4am the sensor stopped reading because my blood sugar was 'too low to read'. I've only got one hand, so I can't do a fingerprick test on my own. By the time I got a neighbour to test me at 5am, the cola had taken effect and my real blood reading was 17.8. But the sensor said it was too low to read. I had a subscription and the company are good at sending replacements when you report a faulty one, but if you have to keep doing fingerprint checks what's the point of the sensor? In 6 months only about 70% of the sensors didn't crash on day 1. Six months subscription for inaccurate readings = £2400 wasted. Save your money.

Goopy Glue

Reads too low most of the time. This is not in itself bad to error on the low side, but the alarms keep coming and you cannot defeat them.
Additionally, the glue seems to have been changed in the last year ? Removing the sensor is extra difficult to get off. For me it turns to mush and I end up having to grab the side of the unit and pry off - actually a scary event always hoping the wire will stay on the unit and not in me.

The G7 system is ridiculous

The G7 system is ridiculous. It provides inaccurate readings and send low alerts which you cannot acknowledge and stop it from alerting. It also requires multiple finger sticks multiple times in order to "calibrate' which does nothing actually. This system really just sucks. The G6 was so much better. Of course you get no help from Dexcom Support because everything is perfect for them.

Bought during the Buy 2 get one free…

Bought during the Buy 2 get one free promotion. Usually use Libre but as they aren’t subsidised for me I wanted to find a somewhat more affordable alternative.i shouldn’t have bothered. The first sensor had an error immediately and didn’t register. The second sensor lasted about 30 hours and failed. I contacted customer service and got no response. Since I pay out of pocket this is ridiculous. I’m paying for something that doesn’t even work properly. I’m not surprised by these reviews. I’m just going back to Libre.

Not happy many no reading alarms in the middle of the night

Every time you have a problem with the sensor you have to fill out all of your information and for an old man with diabetic nerve damage it takes me a very long time. When I did get in contact with Dexcom after a fourth five minute interview by Dexcom they sent me a coupon for a new sensor I gave the coupon to my pharmacy and they told me that when they submitted it it came back as being expired. I’m now asking my doctor to prescribe me a different maker of the monitor. But I believe that my insurance will only pay for this specific device Dexcom. I have notifications of no connection of phone and or sensor malfunction. Even when my phone is in my hands I will get notifications of not connecting to my phone. So frustrating.

Not great so far not a great experience

Not great so far. Continuous downtime as sensor seems to switch off. You wait it comes back but happens again. I’ve already had 2 replacements for failures.
Also customer service is not good enough and website restricts when you can change shipment dates and pushes dates at you instead of asking when you want it.

Faulty product, money wasted

Wish I had read the reviews before making the purchase! I bought Dexcom One from Chemist4U site. I wore it as per instructions. It worked for just 1 hour and then stopped - giving error "Remove the sensor". I tried several times for it to work and then eventually removed it. I wrote to Chemist4U, they said I have to write to Dexcom (they were happy selling a product but not dealing with returns - strange?). I wrote to Dexcom, they now want me to fill a form giving them all my personal and sensitive details, not just the order number and email id. Purchase was very easy - just a few clicks and payment done. Return/Refund is made so difficult that I suppose majority will give up, like I have. Never ever will buy Dexcom in my life or recommend to anyone.

We love Dexcom !

I don’t understand the bad reviews for this company. My teen son has been using Dexcom’s since he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes over 4 years ago.We started out using the G6 and have since changed to the G7 because it works with his Omnipod 5 . I find that my son’s Dexcom is almost always accurate when we compare his reading to a finger stick. I also want to add that Dexcom has some of the best customer service out there. They replace any sensors that fail before the 10 day expected use time and I usually receive them within a few days .
Dexcom has made managing type 1 diabetes much easier for my son.

I was having low sugar readings all…

I was having low sugar readings all night, and I did a normal finger stick and got a more accurate reading. I called DexCom customer support and they advised me about the calibration process, which I was totally unaware of. The woman I spoke to was named Mai, and she was very sweet and kind, and extremely helpful. I learned a lot of new information about the sensors that I never was aware of. I highly recommend DexCom users to call the customer support team when they have issues.

Continually receiving major false readings

Continually receiving major false reading alerting me my blood sugar is 40-50. Actual reading around 110-115. Going off 3-4 times in middle of night. Then eventually the app notifies me the sensor is faulty Insurance company forcing me to use. SOOOO NOT USING. I have called customer service and all they would do is provide a replacement.
