All is good unless something goes wrong.

Ordered 12 conifer type trees at over 2 metres each so were not cheap, due for delivery in Nov. First delivery driver arrived, realised my trees were not loaded and so just drove off leaving us standing on the doorstep wandering what had happened.
Second scheduled delivery did arrive and trees looked ok and were all dorment. All were planted with 2 days of arrival and all seemed to survive the relatively mild winter perfectly fine.
Until we got to March when the trees started to come out of dormancy and then started to lose their greenness. We fed and watered them throughout winter so have no idea why this occurred so contacting David Fairley several times and showing pictures of the trees in decline to where they are today which is dead and brown he agreed that they were dead and that we would go 50 50 on replacements. That was the last time he spoke to us and after contacting him several further times he has now gone quiet. Not sure where to go now but am contacting Citizens Advice as I think I can claim through Section75. GOOD LUCK IF YOU BUY FROM THIS COMPANY AND THERE ARE PROBLEMS.

Delighted

We ordered 3 x Italian Cypress trees online and are delighted with the quality and health of the trees.
Most impressed - acknowledgement of the order was fast and delivery was efficient, the driver was super helpful, friendly and knowledgeable - an all round great experience.
We would definitely recommend!

Disgraceful

Disgraceful,
I ordered 2.5 trees , got 2M trees , planting was a disgrace , trees are sun standard and not healthy, dirt left all over my lawn , support sticks that I paid for not used ,
Avoid this company

Great service but delayed delivery.

I contacted David Fairley gardens because we wanted four evergreen screening trees for our garden. I spoke to a guy called Max who was very helpful which ended with us ordered 4 trees (x2 magnolia grandiflora, x2 photinia x fraseri) at a cost of £850. We paid in full straight away and this is where the communication broke down with Max, he avoided/ignored a few phone calls. Eventually he gave us a delivery date but on the delivery day I was unable to get through to Max, 10 minutes after leaving several missed calls I received a text from Max saying the van is on its way, it left at 10.30am. 2 hours later and still no van I tried to call Max but again no answer so I rang David Fairley, David said there are no deliveries today and he was unsure why Max told us they would be delivered today. David arranged for our trees to be delivered and planted the following Monday. On Monday morning our trees were delivered and planted by a very helpful and informative man called Jamie, he planted the trees exactly where we wanted them, he cleaned up the mess and then explained how to care for the trees.
We are very happy with our trees and I would definitely recommend David Fairley Gardens but when arranging delivery I would speak to David.

Delighted with the care I received and…

Delighted with the care I received and consideration when asking questions and for advice. Great quality plants and excellent service at all times- even after phoning because of a delay due to the current situation i was treated with politeness and efficiency and the trees ended up coming sooner than I'd hoped- with a helpful courier! Can't say enough to recommend - i will use David Fairley for all my major plant orders.

Plants diseased and infested with aphids

Ordered two plants the same, they arrived crammed together in one box, damaged, diseased and infested with aphids, they certainly were not lush green or healthy as they claim on their web site, rang 3 times left messages and finally received a call from David Fairly in total denial, only answer now is to request a charge back on my debit card through my bank and to destroy the infected plants, avoid using this company for plants go else where if a beautiful garden is your dream.

Good service and price

I never review things but as the only review of this company that I could find was negative, I thought I would share my experience.

I had 6 mature trees delivered and planted. The price was significantly cheaper than the competition and the planting services was great. They were very friendly and respectful of my property and even cleaned up afterwards.

The owner (David) had contacted me prior to the delivery to arrange times and dates and generally I felt it was a very high quality service. I would definitely use them again.

Horrible shop, they clearly don't care about their customers. AVOID!

The website is ok and fairly straight forward to use but is very basic. The prices seem good until your receive the plant.

I have ordered from them twice. First time: I waited 7 days and there was no dispatch, so I sent them an email asking them whats going on etc. They replied saying something was wrong with my postcode ( which there wasn't as it they got it from paypal which I use a lot and have no issues ) after a couple of emails they magically sorted it out ( more like they forgot I ordered ) then two days later my plants arrived in a VERY sorry state ( pictures to prove but cannot upload here ). The box was battered to pieces and the plant was snapped ( but survived ), I emailed them they said sorry and they are going to sort it out with the deliverer and then gave me a small discount for a next order.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered again.

Second time: I waited yet again 7 days and emailed them, which was ignored/not seen. Waited a day and emailed them off my last set of emails, waited a day got a reply and then they were dispatched. It shouldn't take an email for them to remember my order and finally dispatch it. Arrived next day even though it was 48hour delivery so no complaints... again the box was smashed around and actually half open this time, no snapped plants but even better, 75% look half dead and are all bone dry. One plant was described as a small plant when I bought it but when I look in this big box with no protection, it had been just thrown around the box all transit, I had to physically dig out the plant from the soil, I'll be surprised if that lives.

Do yourself a favour and just avoid this company, I tried others and they don't arrive in such a shocking state.
