Scam fees after 6months
After 6 months administration fees for dealing fines 61,00 each are pouring in. We never received the actual fines nor don’t know what we did wrong.

Worst experience we’ve ever had renting a car — avoid at all costs.
After completing a full reservation, we were denied the car at the counter for two reasons that were never clearly communicated at booking:
1. Our credit card was a combined credit/debit card, which they refused — despite it being a widely accepted Visa/Mastercard credit card.
2. They claimed our driving licence had to match the nationality of our ID. We are Italian citizens travelling on Italian passports, but we live in United Kingdom and hold a valid EU driving licence issued there. This is a perfectly legal document across the entire European Union — and their own staff couldn’t apply the rule consistently.
Neither of these conditions is stated clearly at the time of booking. They are buried in the small print of the voucher you only receive after paying — making it impossible to prepare in advance.
We travel frequently and rent cars internationally all the time. We have never been turned away like this. The staff showed zero flexibility or willingness to help find a solution, leaving us stranded.
Save yourself the stress — book elsewhere.

Unauthorised Credit Card Charge - Steer clear
Following a rental in January, I've now been charged 61 Euro's nearly 3 months later for what the firm claim is an administrative handling fee relating to a traffic violation. However not only did the firm take the money from my credit card without any notification of this to me, they are unable to provide any documentary evidence to show this charge is genuine leading me to believe it isn't. They don't have a complaints process to deal with my concerns. I will never use them again

Very disappointing experience with Differental at Rome FCO.
I had booked a Jeep for about EUR 130 per week and provided my Lufthansa flight number during the booking process. My flight was about 30 minutes late, and baggage delivery at FCO took another 30 minutes. Since nobody answered the phone, I informed Differental via WhatsApp that we would arrive later. My message was acknowledged with a thumbs-up, and I have a screenshot showing the booking number and the confirmation.
When we arrived at the counter about one hour late, I was told that the booking was no longer accepted unless I paid an extra EUR 25 per day. That meant EUR 175 in additional charges — more than the original rental price itself.
What makes this especially frustrating is that the rental terms say the customer must contact Differental in case of delay, and that is exactly what I did. I informed them in advance, and my message was acknowledged. Despite that, I was still charged heavily at the desk.
In that situation, there was no realistic alternative. DiscoverCars could not offer a practical solution, and arranging another car at the airport on the spot would have been even more expensive. So I felt forced to accept the extra charge.
To make matters worse, the car I finally received was a Peugeot 3008 with so little fuel that it was already on reserve.
My impression: poor customer handling, no real flexibility despite prior notice, and extremely disappointing value for money. I would not rent from Differental again.

I am very satisfied with the services of this company, from the beginning of the registration until I handed over the car at night, 2 hours before the plane. The staff is very attentive, they answered all my questions, the car was provided clean, comfortable, economical - everything I needed. I give 10 stars to the guy who helped me register the car at the company's reception. Nice price and conditions, I will definitely contact them again.

I booked an Opel Astra at Milan Malpensa Airport. I waited for the shuttle for around 15 minutes, which was fine.
The company provided me with a brand‑new Citroën C3 Aircross with only 8 km on the odometer. The process was quite fast, and there were no annoying attempts to upsell additional insurance—just a simple question: “Would you like our insurance with these benefits?” I said no, and that was it.
After 3 days of rental, I returned the car quickly. Since I didn’t cause any damage, the vehicle inspection was very fast.
The staff was friendly.
I would recommend this rental company in Milan.

They forced us to pay full insurance 750€ for one week, just because we didnt have 2 different credit cards for a desposit.
The car mainted not well, they didnt replace car oil, and they counldnt help us , so we had to take it for private garage and fix it by ourself

Exorbitant fees, hundreds of euros taken from credit cards after returning the vehicle in perfect condition (confirmed by their own staff), cars that break down (we had to change cars three times). A deeply untrustworthy place to rent a car. 6 months after the rental still dealing with their nonsense.

I had the opportunity to use the rental service at the airport in Venice, and I am fully satisfied. The service was incredibly fast and professional. I would especially like to highlight Angela – her professionalism, smile, and attention to detail, including lending me her personal phone charging cable and noting all the car damage, made the entire experience flawless. Avoid this rental company at all cost!!! Especially if you reside in the different country and your driving licence issued by the country you live in, but your passport is different. I've made the booking through doyouitaly, when I arrived at the airport (Rome fumicino ) the girl in the office refuse to give me a car.
The reason being, all documents need to be from the same country!
My passport issued in EU and I live in UK, so obviously have full UK driving licence.

Differental Car Rental at Milan Malpensa is extremely poorly organised and stressful.
The rental office is about 3 miles away from the airport, and the only way to get there and back is via their shuttle, which runs sporadically and seemingly whenever they feel like it — at best a few times an hour. On top of that, it is not clearly explained where the shuttle pick-up point is at the airport.
Returning the car was an absolute nightmare. I waited over one hour simply to return my vehicle. The return process is handled by the shuttle driver, not by a proper returns desk, which already tells you how disorganised this operation is.
I arrived first at the return area and was physically first in line, yet I was served last. Customers who returned their cars after me were put on the shuttle before me, and the bus filled up, leaving me behind.
Why? Because after waiting 40 minutes for the shuttle driver to return from the terminal, I politely asked if she was in charge of the returns. She replied rudely “un attimo, signora.” I explained that I had already been waiting for an hour outside the entrance, exactly where her colleague had instructed me to wait after queuing inside for another 40 minutes.
Shortly after, she allowed later customers onto the shuttle and left me behind once the bus was full.
This level of inefficiency, lack of clear communication, and unprofessional attitude is unacceptable — especially when customers are trying to catch flights.
I will never use Differental again and strongly advise others to choose a rental company with an on-airport location and proper customer service.

I wish I had read the reviews before renting. I hire cars practically every week between uk and italy and never in all my years have I had such a bad experience. They would not accept my credit card saying that it was a virtual credit card. They wanted me to take out at their insurance which was 400 euro on top of the rental for the week. They did not want to accompany me back to the airport . They deserve to go out of business
Absolutely the worst car rental…
Absolutely the worst car rental experience I have ever had.
They demanded an extra 250€ simply because we wanted to pay with a debit card instead of a credit card, even though we had already paid the full amount online using a debit card. This hidden charge was never mentioned in advance.
Because of their misleading policy and poor communication, we wasted over two hours canceling our reservation and having to book with another company.
To make matters worse, the employee who transported us from and back to the airport was constantly talking on her phone while driving. This is completely unprofessional and unsafe.
This company is dishonest, disorganised and shows zero respect for customers’ time or safety. I strongly advise everyone to avoid them.

We rented a car and took out extra cover however when we had a tyre blow out we were left stranded in the alps with a baby onboard and the company did not care at all about our welfare or sending out a recovery truck. We were left stranded for hours and were fobbed off multiple times that someone is on the way extra when they weren’t and we had to sort ourselves out. After all the aggravation they caused they had the audacity to charge our bank card after a few months out of the blue without any notification or explanation. We have tried contacting them multiple times without success. Our only option now is spend more time and raise a charge back with the bank etc.

Rip-off at Rome airport
Please note: this car rental company charges additional fees and refers to them as “insurance.” In my case, I had taken out a rental agreement for a rental car through the comparison portal CHECK24 (broker was Aurum Cars) for a vacation trip and paid the rental fee in advance. On site at the Differental counter, I was only given the car on condition that I pay an additional fee of EUR 315. After completing the trip, I complained to CHECK24 about the amount, but they took the position that I had signed the contract with Differental and thus accepted the additional fee.
