Otis loves Different Dog food so much and practically screams with excitement at dinner time! He loves all the recipes and they definitely help keep him healthy and looking good.

I’m super happy with this brand and company. I’ve tried several dog food companies in the past without success as my little Bertie is super fussy whereas Betty would eat a slipper but both absolutely loved it and wanted seconds all the time. You can tell it’s human quality food just by its smell and looking at it. Very impressed!

I didn't think it worth highlighting our issue using Trustpilot until I read Julie Shaw's review of Different Dog in Feb 25 highlighting almost identical problems.
On 28 December after feeding my Lakeland Terrier, I noticed a fairly large item in the bottom of his bowl and wondered why he hadn't eaten all his food. On closer inspection it turned out to be a 3cm x 1cm black, hard plastic, tab of the type used to ensure plastic containers hadn't previously opened. It was much larger than any I found on any of the domestic food containers at home. I wrote an email to Different Dog explaining I was unhappy at finding this but also giving them an opportunity to inform the manufacturing process and other customers who purchased the same batch number, which I provided with several images of the item.
It would be unfair of me to expect too much during the inter Christmas/NY period and we received a fairly apologetic email in response on the same day. Much of that email highlighted informing the Quality Dept and asking us to hold on to the item for the time being.
We heard nothing between 28 December and on 6 January sent another email asking if there was an update. (I had also received the regular email saying my next order would be despatched immediately so had to decide if I wanted to continue). Again, a fairly prompt response offering to send a pre-paid envelope and once again highlighting the Quality Dept's part in this but that was it. I know Quality/Safety are departments that act swiftly to eradicate any errors and DD appear not to be swift and respond only when challenged. I asked my husband to call DD as I am not good with confrontation.
My key concerns are 1 - my dogs' safety and wellness. Had the dog eaten the item, or had I served the food to my less discerning dog, the outcome for a small/medium sized dog would have been choking or worse, and an associated trip to the vet with the obvious costs. Julie Shaw's review demonstrated the same issue; DD are not the slightest bit interested in helping with vet fees/medicine which could have been significant and all attributable to DD.
2 - If this is human quality food, as outlined on the website, I could clearly expect to be compensated the cost of the meal and my enjoyable occasion. Customer service at DD offered to refund the cost only of the one portion and a goodwill gesture of £10. That is both derisory and insulting. Today they offer new customers 35% off their first order and 20% of the subsequent order.
When I told them they were going to lose a customer I was offer 50% refund or credit from my whole order and after a little pausing that rose to a credit for the cost of that order - £50.
I, like most, accept mistakes happen in all walks of our lives. What I place great credence on is how mistakes are addressed and dealt with and Julie Shaw seemed to have the same issues, so it seems, lessons have not 'been learnt'. This experience shows the customer has to undertake the lion's share of the work, DD are reluctant to treat extant customers as well as potential ones, and appear to offer paltry and insulting recompense for errors which end in their side of the court.
Whilst I thought this was a one off, it appears it isn't and the February '25 review is the very same experience I have had in January '26. We are currently looking at alternate feeding menus for our 2 dogs when the credit has been used. When using the food that comes we will be breaking down the lumps very carefully to ensure our dogs' welfare and health is maintained as best we can.

Home cooked and according to Panda, delicious! We had kept her on a Royal Canin reduced fat diet for years after an incident that caused pancreatitis but now aged 13, we feel she deserves something far tastier. Enter Different Dog which hasn’t let us down on any front. If you can; do 🐼🐶

Different Dog customer service is first class with caring/helpful humans at the end of the phone and the 'difference in our dog' is incredible. Our 'rescue' dog is a cross between a Jack Russell and a Corgi, weighing approx 11.7kg. Annie was 5 years old when she joined us 3 years ago. She was thin and despite me trying all types/flavours of food with her, she would turn her head away. We would give her a treat when going out and she would not eat it until we arrived home! But, at 8 years old, we walk Annie 2 miles a day and she did not seem lacking in energy before ... until we tried feeding Annie Different Dog ... and her energy has increased twofold; she is an even better guard-dog; she is stronger (when pulling on her lead!); she is no longer hiding away, eg. under the table, instead is sitting in the middle of the room with ears pricked, tilting her head and listening to the fireworks. Annie literally adores every Different Dog recipe and seems she is 5 years younger.

I transitioned my 14 year old mini labradoodle from raw to different dog food after he was diagnosed with digestive issues. His poos are now normal again, he really enjoys the food, which is easy to store and serve Deliveries are prompt, and the staff are always available on the telephone, or by email, to deal with any queries.

My dog Is a foodie, but it has amazed me how much more excited he is with the Different Dog food mixed in with his kibble. He goes back a couple of times to make sure he has eaten every morsel. I do a mix of half different dog and half kibble. He has tried other foods before but this has definitely been his favourite. Due to his age and breed he has the stay supple Fish and the hearty beef and berries. I’ve always kept him Grain Free and won’t give him Chicken or Turkey due to allergies.

My two whippets Rosie and Molly are different dogs much healthier happier and clean bowls every time! Amazing so different and no tummy problems. Lovely customer service and easy to order. We loved the festive box and Christmas dinners too. Thank you!

We transitioned our 8 year old Cockapoo Luna from raw food to ‘different dog’ to support her recovery from two spinal surgeries within the last four months. She is on the healthy options because she is carrying extra weight and it has most definitely suppprted Lunas recovery. From losing weight to having more energy and a better smelling breath! Her go to is the steak and blueberries but we like to mix it up with the Turkey too and Luna is a huge fan of the bone broth. We heat it up on the cold days and add to her food and to her water. So good for her bones. Wouldn’t be without a Different Dog! 🐾♥️

Absolutely love different dog! My Whippet Baxter loves your food and we’ve had so much issues in the past with his food and upsetting his stomach or it’s a hassle making fresh food from scratch so it’s such a relief to find a company that not only provides fresh quality healthy food but also a lovely company too! Excellent quality food. My dogs are thriving on it — great digestion, bright eyes, shiny coats, and noticeably healthier skin. They’re happy, full of life, and always excited at mealtimes. I wouldn’t go back to cheaper kibble food after seeing the difference this has made.

We wanted to feed our dog with a greater percentage of home cooked options but without the faff of doing it ourselves. Different Dog provides the quality, the variety and the added bonus of balanced added vitamins and minerals that would be difficult for us to provide. The website is easy to navigate and the account easy to manage. The ethics of the company are in line with our own. Yes, it's an expensive option, but what price on a healthy dog, if affordable? And she loves the food!

My dog was under the Vet suffering with what she diagnosed as Pancreatitis. She advised a low fat diet which we immediately searched for ...something that specufically identified digestive issues. I settled on the Different Dogs dietary range. The wide ranging choice is wonderful and my dog loves it, whichever flavour. He cleans his dish every time. And since we started him on it there hasn't been another flare up of pancreatitis. We would recommend the Different Dog way of feeding 100g Thankyou

My little G was a fussy eater & I've tried several different foods. But always a clean bowl now, I warm it a little add a small amount of kibble it smells good enough for me to eat.
Her coat seems to shine more now to. If you afford it it's worth it, she happy in happy.

My dog had sepsis from a perforated stomach ulcer summer 2025. It meant I had to completely change her food. It was terrifying but Different Dog provided a vet that I could speak to. I was reassured and slowly swapped my dogs over. They really enjoy this feed and I’m confident that I’m providing the best nutrition. Customer support is excellent.

Bought it for my elderly dog with no expectations. She absolutely love it and at 15 I've noticed improvement in her behaviour and digestion in matter of weeks. I would not change it for a world! Never too late to improve dogs diet and I just wish it was around when we got Tess first! Food is fresh, clearly full of flavour but she looks forward to each meal and gets excited when delivery box arrives.

Getting the right food for Mr pops is always my goal .When I saw different dog and researched the company I was very happy .Real food all natural ingrediants and you can also get natural treats bone broth and other things .And you can speak to some one on the phone .This was very important to me with out this service and even though the food came tops I would not have gone with them .Becouse speaking to some one about Mr pops is right up there with the good food .It does come frozen which I was abit worried about .But afder how it is delivered I'm fine with that now .And I have to say the food is lovley I my self have tried it .So as long as nothing changes with the company of the things I think are important. Mr pops will have this food always. I under stand if you have a few dogs it's not possible .But if there's a way you can I would highly recommend this food .it took me weeks checking all brands out and this for me was tops .

I have tried so many different types of food and am so glad I have found Different Dog. The customer service is excellent too. I watched the advert and I think it is spot on as my dog loves his delivery and his head is in that box as I'm unpacking it. He has more life and bounce especially on our walks.

Different Dog is honestly the best food I’ve come across in 13 years with my dog.

Nutrition has always been a major priority for us — my dog is older and has a sensitive stomach, so finding something that doesn’t upset her has been a real challenge. Different Dog has been brilliant for that.

What I really appreciate is that it doesn’t have that strong smell you get with Bella & Duke, and the ingredients are clearly natural. When I’m serving it, I can actually see what my dog is eating — it feels more like proper nutritionist-crafted food rather than factory stuff.

She eats it happily, stays comfortable afterwards, and for us that’s absolutely huge. For anyone with an older dog or one with a sensitive stomach, I genuinely couldn’t recommend it more.

Really agree with my dog she seems a lot fitter and healthier even at 11 years old. Smells amazing too. I get all the extras goats milk powder and bone broth and she enjoys it as a fussy dog
