Tech support is non existent
Tech support is non existent. I had a problem that my phone does not work with their SIM (No Service), while in another phone it was working. They didn't even care to find out why i cant use it. If you are lucky and the SIM is working then enjoy, if not, then you better search for another provider because they wont help you. I guess being cheap has its costs on support side...🙄

As a mobile operator, we do our best to also help with device specific problems. However, our support has no way of knowing or influencing your devices settings or specifications with a 100% accuracy. As you mentioned that you already did the measures we usually suggest when there are connectivity issues, we simply ran out of options. We thus refunded you for the SIM and the data plan.

I was looking for a wifi for my flat…
I was looking for a wifi for my flat and decided to choose the Flat 300 free-month trial from DR.
My feedback is really positive: the sim was shipped very quickly and I had it at home in less than 48 hours.
I had some issues with the identification through my ID card, but both the phone line and the email support were amazing, and they solved my problem in less than an hour.
The wifi is working correctly too.

Flawless 5G WLAN connection
I work from home and depend on a stable and fast internet connection to do my job. Wingo, my previous operator, worked well for two years until the end of summer 2023.
From that time, I suffered daily internet disruptions that could last for 5–10 minutes. This used to happen when using bandwidth-demanding apps like videoconference. It became a real problem.
After days of research for an alternative, I ordered the Flat 300 free-month trial from DR and tested it for one month, tethering my computer with my phone.
It worked surprisingly well, so I ordered a 5G router from them, along with a yearly Flat 300 plan. It was the best thing I could ever have done. I no longer have to worry or think about my internet connection.

Evasive and Misleading "Unlimited" Data Claims
Digital Republic's claim of "unlimited" data is misleading. Indirect data restrictions imposed by their chosen network provider were not disclosed clearly. Customer support was unresponsive and evasive to requests for clear information on this matter. The blame is shifted to the network provider for acting as the restrictor.

Thank you for your review. As a cellular provider we're offering mobile services, which have to be maintained and operational to all users. This is why under some rare circumstances, bandwidth can be limited. We state those cases in our terms of service:
"Digital Republic or the network operator reserve the right to temporarily restrict or interrupt the service or individual service elements, e.g. due to maintenance and servicing work, to introduce new technologies, to rectify faults or due to capacity bottlenecks."
This only happens on rare occasions and is necessary to maintain functionality for all users. The data volume (to which we refer with "unlimited") is unlimited for all our users, bandwidth (as by the nature of cellular connections) is not.

Disappointing. After 6 months they slow down the speed of internet so you upgrade and spend more money. It was downloading fast until a month ago. I was forced to upgrade, its the trap they set u in. Careful!

Have been using it for a while
I have been using Digital Republic for about three years now. I appreciate the eSIM option and the improvements made (voice option added and now available for Apple Watch). Their customer portal is simple and easy to navigate. I hope that a better price for voice option and roaming packages will be made available.

Update - Kind of an Odyssey for activation
Kind of an Odyssey , One week to have it activated. Got the card After the order had been initially canceled by staff due to address misunderstanding. The troubles were in loading my ID (Swiss) and selfie video. Was helped by staff who could not solve the issue but after one week. A bit too long for a Sim Activation. At least it's working now. Hope It Will work free for the actual 30 days starting from the activation, not from reception of the card. I Need another 3 cards for my family and was going to recommend it to friends, but I'll see if It actually works as promised.
Update: 12/08/2023
After another little problem, SIM Is now working properly and hope It will continue because I need another 3 for the rest of my family . Thanks to customer care staff, especially Jasmine, but also Luciano, Bruno and Fabien, always ready to support.

Delivery was fast. When it comes to ID verification, the countdown timing was way too fast too. Not to my liking. Unlike my experiences with other companies, you also do not have the chance to preview the image taken or retake it for clarity. Please improve on this and it will save you the hassle to manually review ID and cause longer wait time at customer’s end.

When I found out that my Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G was not esim compatible, they simply swapped it with a physical sim card and send it to an address of my choice.

after I bought it and used it, I was very satisfied with both the quality and the support of the team. Scam extra money off you!!! Careful!
If youre not careful they scam 10 extra bucks of you to use voice. Its checked as an add on but in a way that they make it look like if not checked you cant proceed with registration…. Learned that the hard way. Got 3 sim cards and unluckily with 2 i payed extra 10 swiss francs.
Also they say checking ID takes 5min. It takes 2 days - i already saw another review complain about this.
Sad but i guess thats what you get when going for the cheapest!
It really sucks though that they rip you off with the extra 10 bucks - i am sure when answering to this review they say „it has the option to check it off“… but as mentioned then it seems like you cant finish the registration process

We're very sorry for the confusion about our voice option. As you have already correctly guessed, you can enable/disable voice during onboarding as well as in your customer portal at any time.
Concerning the ID verification: There are some rare occasions, where the ID has to be checked manually. This can have different reasons, the most common being insufficient image quality, or uncommon documents. In this case, the ID-check can take longer.
