Horrible customer experience

Horrible experience. Impossible to auto renew commuter pass. Mine expired, forgot to renew the same day and got a fine. Of course they didn't refund even though I have been paying every month for 2 years

Metro, train and bus

Expensive, uncomfortable and non trustable system in general.
Regarding Movia bus driver, 100% do not know how to break without hurting their passengers.

Frustrating Experience with Check-In…

Frustrating Experience with Check-In System and Customer Service

My recent visit was marred by a frustrating experience with their check-in system. The inconsistency of the machine/device was inconvenient, leading to a fine rather than a solution.

It's disheartening that the staff's lack of service manner made it difficult to reason with authorities. A focus on improving the check-in/check-out system and enhancing customer service would greatly benefit everyone.

Trains cancelled twice in same weekend

There is only one mode of transport between Hillerød and Fredensborg and that is the local train. On Friday night (20 October) the train was cancelled without notice and we couldn't get home. Today the 4pm train from Helsingør to Hillerød was cancelled without notice. The train service is really pathetic for a country like Denmark. We expected better.

Appalling problems with the DOT app

We are on holiday in Denmark and have been trying to use the DOT app. It is completely useless as It fails to work most of the time. For example, at the airport it refused to work because it said location was not enabled - it was! - so I bought a paper ticket from a machine. Just outside the airport on the train it said location was set and I could buy a ticket! Yesterday we went to Tisvildeleje on the train. On the way back it was impossible to get a mobile signal at the station and there was no ticket office or ticket machine so we had no option but to board the train without a ticket. The ticket machine on the train was disabled! Luckily I did manage to get a mobile signal further along the track so we were able to buy a ticket. We were told that all ticket machines are being withdrawn in July and the only way of getting a ticket after July is via the DOT app! I think there will be a big outcry from visitors if that happens. Please get your app designers to fix the problems before removing the ticket machines!!!

Changing the bus driver during a trip…

Changing the bus driver during a trip is completely illogical. A commuter must have value of his / her time. I am taking a bus considering a approximate time to reach destination but this horrible logic are delaying my trip. That cause’s missing the connection and sometime in increases anxiety to reach on time. Specifically bus number 10 I have faced the most problems.

Bad experience

Today I left home in Vangede - Gentofte to take a 20 minute trip which turned out to be almost 2 hours . I arrive at the bus stop in charllotenslund and wait 40 minutes, when I arrived I should have waited 15 minutes, I decided to look at the small identification plate of the stop where there is a warning that the bus was not stopping there. I walked another 15 minutes until I reached another stop of another bus, with another number and when I look at the sign, it was no longer stopping there. Until I decided to walk another 20 minutes and go to charlottenlund station where I could probably catch a train to Hellerup and then a bus home. We pay an absurd price for transport in this city and this company should at least offer decent transport.

Black or white

Hi, sorry for the long post. Just wanted to share a story with you, and maybe get your point of view.

This review is not about the quality of services of DOT. As a service, I have to say that the trains are quite frequent. No point of dissatisfaction from that.
But my recent experience with them was something I really didn't expect from them...

I am a loyal customer of DOT, the Danish Metro. I am living in Sweden and working in Denmark. I use Metro to commute to my work. From "Orestad" station to "Islands Brygge", and vice versa. I have never missed paying for any ticket, in either direction.
Every day, like a robot 🙂, I get in "Orestad" and get off at "Islands Brygge". It doesn’t matter if I have had my morning coffee or tea, the move has becoming mechanic 🙂. When the work finishes, I do the opposite move. Taking the metro from "Islands Brygge" and getting off to "Orestad". Same robotic move.
On Monday the 28th, after my work, I had to do my eye test, to Amager. So they daily routine was broken that day! And instead of taking the metro from "Islands Brygge", I took it from "Amagerbro". The two stations are around 10-15 minutes walking distance, quite close to each other. "What could be different?", I thought. I looked at the application, and I filled the destinations for the ticket. From Amagerbro to...O, O. Without too much thinking, I saw "Oresund", and pressed the OK button 🙂.
So, I got on the train, and at "Oresund", I got off. Started to go up the stairs...but something was not right. And realized...what. Oresund was not Orestad; like, my tired from work brain, thought 🙂. I looked at google maps, how far away Orestad from Oresund was. But I was tired from work, so I thought, since I was tired to walk, it is fine to take the train to Sweden, from Copenhagen Airport, instead of Orestad. The metro was going to Copenhagen airport,
So, I jumped on the next metro train, and continued towards the airport. The train was approaching its final destination for the airport. I was quite happy, since I was very hungry and felt that the home food of Malmo, was getting closer. Almost when we approached the end, the ticket check personnel came to check the tickets. I took my mobile and showed mine, ready to exit the train. "I am sorry, the ticket is not valid" he said.
What? How can it be? It was already activated and promptly paid. "It is valid for 2 zones, while you need one valid for 3”, he added.
Full of surprise, I told him, that every day I take the same ticket, two zones as the application tells me. he repeated, "you need 3 zones ticket”, he repeated. I understood that probably he was not expert in teaching the zone system of metro 🙂, so I looked up the map. And realized that he was right: There is an indication on the top of the stations, that denotes the zones.
And although "Oresund" was in 2 zones distance, airport was in another zone. Oups. I asked him if I can pay the difference. He said no, and he started writing the fine...
I explained him, that unfortunately, I confused Oresund with Orestad. And I had a ticket, it was not my intention to trick anyone or save 16 DKK (around 2 euros) today 🙂. He didn't show much interest in my today’s story or my mistake.
In the end he told me. "I am sorry, your ticket is not valid. And I see things BLACK or WHITE". So, I decided to write to the Danish Metro , because I was curious how Danish Metro see things.
I raised the issue to the customer support service. I attached them my bank statements, with proof that I am a loyal customer, paying every single time the correct ticket. Explained in detail my case. Maybe a reduced fine would be more appropriate.

It turned out that they see things exactly the same. The case I reported KA-2021-0000605795, was closed. They said that the fine was correctly give to me. I never argued that though.

So, no room for mistakes, no room for a foreigner to confuse names. No excuses, the full fine is for either the persons that try to steal from DOT, or the loyal customers that made a mistake. For me it is not about the 750 DKK. I am just sad that DOT see their loyal customers, as just numbers, potential outlaws, riding their train.

I wish there was no monopoly in metro, so people could select a company that sees them as humans , appreciates their loyalty, and treats them like humans not a number.

Even when ones makes a crime , the case is examined by the court, and then judged. So now I know: For Din Offentlige Transport, our cases are black or white.

It's pretty simple

It's pretty simple, anybody who has ever had anything to do with these people, absolutely despise them. I hate them with a passion, both their horrible website, and their disrespectful personel, but I only deal with them because I have to...

This is conserning the dot app

This is conserning the dot app, which mind you, is the only app you can use to buy tickets.

So the app keeps crushing all the time, so how is it normal that i had to pay 100 kr for a 24 kr road, just because the app crushes and cannot connect to mobilepay normal almost never.

I also had to pay 3 times for a 2 zones commuter card that’s 1000 kr, from which you can refund but you lose money when you refund it, because of their charge of 7 days or however much it was.

There is no way I can get a refund on the tickets and as they have no appropritate customer service, but a phone number you have to call, you can’t get any help for anything tickets or the mobile app related.

As the only app that is out there for tickets, it is beyond trash. It always, alwasy has problems connecting with mobilepay and you end up losing money almost everytime.

Also if you are in a rush you literally cannot count on being able to buy a ticket 10 mins before your departure..

It’s been years now. How about you fix it.

Plastic instead of a ticket of paper

Plastic instead of a ticket of paper. Even worst the access to your data on your phonemobile.
Since 19th Januar the Pubblic transportation in Danmark forces the people to have the pass or with a plastic badge, that costs you 8 euro or through the mobile. Why? to steal more money and to check wich bus, train or metr you take and to go where. Big brother. They say to save paper, ridicolous because daily tickets are still on paper and because they waste a lot of paper just to advice that a zone changed from here to there.
And the customer service thinks all the people are satisfied with their poor, but poor, answers.

Constant delays and cancellations

Been using public transport in Denmark all my life and no matter how many times they change their name to get away from their bad reputation, they continue to fail meeting the average European standard.
I used to commute between Zealand and Jutland every week for a couple of years and the delay was around 45 minutes in average, usually because they didn't have an available train set or the driver was missing.
The bus routes and time tables are changed at such a rate you never know when your transport is going to be there unless you check the journey planner app every single day.

Worst of all is that instead of spending money on getting their current services up to a respectable level, they're spent on expanding metro lines, modernizing stations and so on. How about having some ******* backup personnel for the trains first of all? Seriously.

And their 50% refund system offends me when they try to sell it as some great travel insurance. What other company can get away with only refunding 50% of a product they fail to deliver and even promote themselves on that account?

My bus should have picked me up 3 times while writing this review.. Still waiting on this joke of a company.

Warning against the app DOT - confusing tourists and customers and a goldmine for the Copenhagen traffic companies

I am Danish but live in Norway. In between I visit Copenhagen for meetings etc. At earlier visits I had used the DOT-mobile pay app for the city's public transportation successfully. You put in your destination and paid the correct amount through the app. That worked well. But at my last visit the app couldn't any more show the destinations. You had to put in, how many zones you would travel. Well, I was in a hurry to get on the METRO and thought I remembered that there were two zones from central Copenhagen to Kastrup Airport, so I paid for that.
At my arrival to the airport I was charged by a single person who insisted that he was a controller. Apparently my memory of two zones was wrong, and I had to pay for three. I was an idiot and ignorant and should of course have been aware of the easily visible (???) signs with places and zones located at the stations. 700 DKK (Danish kroner) to pay. He did not need me to give him my Danish CPR-nr, because he already had that information through the DOT-app. No mercy. He apparently needed to harvest as much as he could on his lone hunt.
For tourists and other foreigners who are not well acquaintanced with Copenhagen the DOT system is a trap. For the local traffic companies it must be a goldmine!
The METRO in Copenhagen is being extended by an Italian company that - aledgedly - never before had a job north of Africa. Therefore numerous scandals. This suits the style!
