Good. But some disagreements.
I personally love discord and i use it everyday. But there are some features and upcoming features that i dont agree with. Such as removing the identification numbers and making individual usernames since i am quite known on discord and i do not want to be impersonated. The support team also takes quite a bit to respond. But overall i love discord and i hope it continues to be great. 4/5 Stars
Discord Support are incompetent
Discord Support are incompetent, unprofessional and unable to carry out simple instructions. I have sent them a request to delete an old discord account of mine. After 3 days they still keep making excuses and failing to delete the account. They are wasting my time.
Horrible support service
Horrible support service. Would not recommend it. My account got hacked a while back, I tried to contact support, but they didn't help. Now I tried again and they said they couldn't do that. I provided explanation and they didn't respond.
Horrible Support
Horrible, banned me for NO reason and won't even provide proof as to why I was banned because they have none. Horrible company with s*** support
Overall good but some problems
Overall, it is a very good platform for communicating with many different features. However, I have recently experienced problems with sound and the platform does not seem to work perfectly with slow internet connection
mic went wrong
Discord is overall good platform
Discord is overall good platform, but the unthinkable is happening on Discord. Owners of Discord servers can disable file moderation so Discord will not check the files you upload in NSFW channels. That means, you can upload a virus, CP, g0re etc. to everyone who opens the NSFW channels. I reported one user sharing CP, which is serious (and illegal) issue that Discord should handle, but after 20 DAYS, no response or answer at all at support.discord.com. Good as a platform but customer service is terrible.
Tired of Social Media
I have deleted my Discord account.
So many users were reported. But they are still not banned and continue abusing others.
New user accounts get allegations of being alts. Allegation of being an alt makes new users more likely to get harrassed. So, people are having to be more careful about what server they go on when trolls harass new users with allegations. All of this stuff is a reminder of why I'm avoiding many social media platforms like the plague.
It's no surprise that social media is causing younger generations to have mental illnesses and suicidal thoughts more than older people. So, Discord's disrespectful community is one reason why I will never let a minor use social media platforms until they reach the age of 18. This platform is better for cyberbullies, spammers, scammers, creeps, and childish conversations rather than serious discussions. There are people on Discord who will not read more than 1 paragraph. It's like trying to talk with people who never paid attention in school and don't care about having proper conversations. All of these reasons are why I am done with Discord. It's a cringeworthy meme.
Discord makes me think of the film "Idiocracy". That's how bad society has fallen from grace for decades. Instead of helping society get better, these future generations are trolling, spamming, coping, and seething online. Meanwhile, older generations are trying to help their families, friends, and society instead of doing vile things online. This trolling and spamming online are harming minors' psychological well-being. Which, again, is why I would never let a minor use social media until they are 18.
This platform should get sued. But late stage capitalism is making that hard to do.
Good platform, poor service
As a platform, Discord is great for communicating with friends and I love the function of having servers. They usually work very well (although changing settings on them is pretty buggy) and the program is feature rich, much better than alternatives such as Guilded. Nitro is quite expensive for what it provides, and also server boosts, and for someone in the UK being billed in dollars means that you get charged extra depending on your bank’s rates, even though it is displayed in pounds. Moderation and customer service really lets Discord down, agents for CS are friendly although responses take a long time and I’d much prefer to have a phone helpline to chat with someone for help. Plus, reports to moderation are not always acted upon as effectively as they should be. Overall, good platform but human interaction and safety needs improvements.
The worst authentication procedure I…
The worst authentication procedure I have ever seen. Who let these clowns loose on the internet.....
Good free options
Love how they don't remove messages like Slack. Free features are pretty good.
The support team is really bad
The app is good and all but their support team is horrible, i lost my account due to an factory reset and they told me i can only get it if i have an backup code (which i do not have..) and they asked me if i want them to DELETE my account and that they wont give me acess because i need the backup code... worst support team ever
This app is great to talk with friends…
This app is great to talk with friends or colleagues. It can be a little bit slow sometimes though
I love this app
I love this app. I use it when playing with friends and for work. It's great.
cant get cute cat girls
Discord banned my account for promoting the use of self-bots which I am against
Discord banned my account for promoting and using automated accounts even though I was installing Double Counter which prevents self-bots from happening, when I contacted them I just got the same message that was sent to me when I was banned. Their "Customer Support" is just a bot, and they are all just data-hogs that want all your information. This happened on new years.
This is the best social app invented.
I have been using discord since 2016 and this has been the best experience for talking and texting to your friends. Its a extremely good app for gaming and creating communities. I'm on it every single day of the month and its just great. I recommend this to people that likes creating communities and socializing with friends and other people.
Malware
Malware. The reason their updates tend to get stuck in loops is because their program doesn't delete old files it no longer uses, it just sort of forces your system to think they're still in use.
If you want to uninstall all of this the only thing you can do is go into your program files, and delete it all manually. If you don't 90% of it will stay on your computer.
How do I know this? I'm going through the process right now. The solutions I found for update loops were to turn off your antivirus which kinda proves my point, or to "make sure internet is connected when downloading updates." So they just assume you're not paying attention, or just too stupid to notice that they're adding malware onto your PC.
