We spent 10 days in New Zealand and 20 days in Australia on a customized tour developed by Discover the World. We had shopped around for pricing and found that Discover the World was the most competitive. Due to the lower cost, we braced ourselves for perhaps lower quality services but this simply wasn't true. All of our rental cars and hotel accommodations were high quality calibers. We gave DTW very little instructions for the trip. However, the places they sent us to and the experiences they provided were fantastic. Making this our trip of a life time. There were a few things that we wished could have been better such as more instructions on how to prepare ourselves when we entered very remote locations. However, these are very minor inconvenience and we worked through them without too much trouble. Special thanks to Phoebe Marks and Lauren Shorney for their great customer service attitude.

I travelled to Lapland with my husband and grown children to celebrate my 70th birthday, booking the Inari Villa at the Wilderness Hotel Inari through the Discover The World website. We left on the 3rd March 2024 and stayed for six nights. We were extremely happy with Darren at DTW and the arrangements he made for us. The resort itself is excellent and the Inari Villa is absolutely wonderful. The reception staff were very helpful and the restaurant very clean. It was very easy to find food which everyone enjoyed; variety and flavours were excellent, along with the staff. We enjoyed five days of activities, all of which were well organised and the guides very knowledgeable and helpful. There was nothing throughout the holiday about which we could complain. The outer-wear which was supplied to us was more than adequate to shield us from the elements. Winter suits, boots, gloves along with helmets and balaclavas when needed. We took too much luggage expecting we would need to wear lots of layers every day but, because of the provided clothing, we only needed a thermal vest and top underneath our suits, although we were very lucky with the weather. It was fine all week and we experienced the Northern Lights on three occasions, the final display was just magnificent and went on for hours. The flights were well organised and we were met at the final airport for transport direct to the hotel. We were more than happy with everything arranged for us.

UNFORGETTABLE!!! DTW organise the most incredible once-in-a-lifetime trips! My mum and I went to Finland to see the Northern Lights and do all kinds of amazing adventures from snowmobiling, snowshoeing, electric fat biking, aurora camp and a traditional Finnish sauna and ice swimming experience. I cannot believe we were only there for two days and three nights as it felt like a week in the best way. Everything about this trip is just so unique and magical and we loved every minute of it.

We booked our trip to New Zealand with Discover the World and found them to be knowledgable, endlessly helpful and professional. Sadly a close family member fell ill and died when we were half way through our trip and with a single phone call Discover the World organised our rapid return to the UK and did an really good job of securing as much of our committed expenditure back as possible. That was last year - this year we completed our trip and again Discover the World were excellent.

The holiday was very well organised, though a bit more thought could have been given to the transfer time between flights on the return journey, under 30 minutes to go from one gate to another via Passport Control wasn't ideal. Also we were not aware until asking that our seats on the Finnair flights were not reserved, so an additional expense This is the fourth time we have used Discover the World and would probably use them again, but would ask more questions on flights times and seats before confirming the booking.

Very responsive, very helpful and went that extra mile to find out if they couldn't answer your question.

Decided to award the travel agents four stars - if they communicate with the hotel when arranging taxi service, we would have know that the time has been altered. Maybe double-check with the hotel, say one week before the expected pick up. The rest of the holiday went smoothly after their hard work in booking the activities.

We have travelled with DTW many times over the years, all winter holidays to Iceland and Scandinavia. Staff are very knowledgeable and make every effort to accommodate our requirements. We especially like the flexibility and arranging a bespoke holiday to meet our needs. This trip to Senja off of the coast of Norway was no exception. Beautiful location and accommodation was very good exceeding our expectations.
This review would have been 5 stars like usual, but there were a couple of issues with the excursions, in that the snowshoeing was a much further walk than we were expected, and with the mixed fitness of out party we found it too strenuous. Also the husky sledging was poor compared to what we have done at other locations, just doing two repeated loops including very steep gully sections, where the musher (me) had to get off and push too often as dogs were not matched to guests and some sections were steep. I was shattered at the end and I am a fairly fit 62 year old, and my wife was unable to drive.
Be aware also that the hotel Mefjord Brygge serves only a single course at lunchtime (somedays just a bowl of soup), which after some of the strenuous excursions was not enough for me.

We've just returned from a wonderful trip to the IceHotel and Abisko National Park organised by Discover the World. Their agents were fantastic - knowledgeable, helpful and responsive. The IceHotel was incredible and the tours were excellent. The flight times booked worked well, as did all the transfers. The highlight was seeing an amazing Northern Lights show whilst snowmobiling. I'd highly recommend this trip and Discover the World.

We have just returned from our wonderful trip to Iceland. Everything that Discover The World organised and planned for us was perfect. We saw all the sights we wanted to and some Northern Lights.
The company was a pleasure to deal with. Any questions I had were dealt with quickly and efficiently.

We are now planning a trip to Canada for next year so we will certainly look at using Discover The World again.

Our trip to The Ice Hotel was amazing! Everything we could have dreamed of.
The help and advice from Darren at Discover the World was spot on.
It was definitely worth staying an extra night so we got to do everything we wanted to do as it's more of a one visit destination.
Just one thing, if you go on an evening excursion, don't eat before you go, as they do feed you properly when out in the forest. We were told you just get soup, so ate beforehand. Don't, there's plenty of stew and dessert too!
I definitely recommend going, a trip of a life time!

Jo at discover the world organised a fantastic honeymoon for us to Iceland (the self drive tour). We had the most incredible time and everything went smoothly even with a last minute change due to the volcanic activity there. We highly recommend visiting Iceland and the stress of organising it was greatly reduced by the use of Discover the World! Thank you ahain

I have just returned from my holiday in Sweden that I booked through Discover the world.
The initial booking was with Staci and the service was first class. We stayed in Stockholm on the first night and then onto the Ice hotel for 4 nights then our last night was back in Stockholm.
We were not sure of what we wanted to begin with but the help and advice was second to none.
When we arrived at the ice hotel we managed to do the dog sledding and the snowmobiles. Unfortunately due to extremely cold weather we were unable to do a couple of excursions.
I spoke to some of the discover the world team when away and the money for the excursions were refunded with in days.
The whole process of dealing with this company was exceptional and I would highly recommend using them.

This was a long awaited trip to Iceland, and it didn't disappoint.
It was a self drive holiday over six days.
I explained to Natasha at Discover The World what we wanted to see and do and she came up with a perfect itinerary. We saw some wonderful sights and packed a lot in, but never felt that we were rushing. Making the Sky lagoon our first activity was a great way to unwind after a long day. The hotels were excellent, our favourite being Hotel Ranga at Hella.
Seeing the Northern lights on our last night was a great way to end a fantastic holiday.

Discover the World booked a truly Amazing holiday! Very well organised. Helpful staff, very knowledgeable. Flights all straightforward. The transfer from Rovaniemi to Ranua took a while, but the minibus driver was very friendly and gave us lots of information. The scenery was beautiful. The chalets were well equipped, immaculately clean, and cosy and warm. Really well planned layout, a cupboard to hang wet clothes in, the mezzanine floor was perfect for the children. Beds were comfortable too! Didn’t risk the sauna, but family that did said it was good. The resort was everything you needed it to be. Plenty of activities. The children LOVED the sleigh ride to see Santa. His cabin in the woods was just as you would imagine it, the children were thrilled. Driving the snowmobile, great experience! We visited a reindeer farm and hand fed some reindeer. Driving the dog sleigh was quite hard work , but I managed, the dogs run quite fast! The free entrance to the wildlife park was a plus. Breakfast was self service, loads of choice. Evening meals were served, staff friendly and helpful. Drinks were not included but the local beer was good, and not too expensive. There were a few sledges to pull weary children back to the cabin on, after the evening meal. We went on a sleigh ride to hopefully see the Northern lights, but unfortunately the lights were elusive. Need to go back another time and maybe we will be lucky! Thank you Discover the World for arranging our amazing holiday.

Discover the World organized a trip for me, my sister and daughters to Iceland this summer. It was one of the most amazing experiences and created lasting memories for us. I cannot thank them enough tor their expertise, suggestions, planing and brilliant organizing. It was a very special holiday! Thank you so much 😊😊

We booked Discover the World's North Iceland Adventure trip for our family over half term and it was incredible .. Iceland was everything we had hoped for, with the aurora on the first night be got there. The accommodation with really good, and the activities first class all booked and recommended by Discover the World who clearly know Iceland really well. Thank you for making our trip so special !

We booked a multi destination holiday through a travel agent who used discover the world. After paying for flights and accommodation to Australia we had to re-direct to another destination due to visa issues. DTW gave us a non refundable rate as we were told it wasn’t refundable by the airline nor the apartment. Unfortunately for them we had other family staying at the apartments, who were assured by the receptionist that our £1450 was already 100% refunded but DTW refuse to pass any of it on to us! Despite the fact we had to fork out £4,500 for the new flights and accommodation and they only offered unsuitable alternatives of which we had no choice but to go with otherwise they would cancel the whole trip. We couldn’t book our own flights separately and continue with the remainder of our paid holiday or the threatened they would cancel the whole trip and we would lose everything (£12,000). I wouldn’t be surprised if they were also refunded the flight money back and kept that too. Just because they have unethical and predatory terms and conditions. I would urge anyone to spend a little extra time and book your own holiday to avoid the additional costs and bad service. We will never be using a travel agent and certainly won’t be using DTW again.
Our “holiday of a lifetime” has largely been ruined and made that much more bitter due to the issues mentioned above.

This is the worst travel company I have ever used. They just bought our holiday to Canada with a third party who then used another third party. We ended up with a German company on a German speaking tour. They booked our flights and gave us the wrong information and took thousands of pounds from me to do nothing. Avoid and go with a company who runs their own trips.
