Was promised weekends and in person training but could never get ethier. They keep saying "1 more virtual meeting" over and over till we passed the 30 day refund window then would not refund me for the unused in-person credits. Left now feeling very disrespected and scammed.
Editing to address the reply:
I explicitly requested Saturdays at sign-up, and your sales team assured me it was no problem. The moment I paid, you changed the rules, told me Saturdays were impossible, and forced me to accept late-night weekday sessions after 7:00 PM just to get started.
You are using a 'safety foundation' narrative as an excuse, but after our second Zoom meeting, our actual trainer explicitly told us Sawyer was ready for in-person training. When I called to schedule those physical sessions, your corporate office overrode the trainer's professional assessment, denied the scheduling, and demanded I do even more virtual sessions. My trainer even admitted to me that they didn’t believe Dog Academy actually had anyone in my area capable of handling our in-person training.
It wasn't until I called to complain and demanded a refund for the second time that a Saturday session suddenly 'miraculously' became available. By then, the trust was entirely broken.
You took my money for an in-person package, failed to provide it, forced me into virtual sessions that were completely insufficient for my situation.

I would never recommend this company to anyone! They boast of a thirty day money back guarantee but the trainer they assigned my dog didn’t show up the first time then we were past the 30 days of course. The trainer assigned took my dog for a 48 hour board and train which I found out later is not something the dog academy even offers. I was told I would get pictures and videos of the training she was receiving. I got a video of the training with my dog in a room. The trainer was kicking a cardboard box and my dog ran to get a toy out took it back across the room. Then the trainer did that several more times. When I asked what that was accomplishing I got no response for a couple of weeks and it accomplished nothing just to show her playing. She was kept most of the time in a too small kennel. I know that because I saw what she was transported in and the trainer wanted to make sure my kennel was much bigger. I am now having to spend even more money to take my dog to a different trainer. No money back of course. 30 day policy and all. My dog was set back in her training from this experience. She learned nothing she didn’t already know. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.
Melody was absolutely fantastic! She went above and beyond to make sure I understood exactly how the process works, breaking everything down with clarity and genuine care. Her warm, personable energy made the entire experience feel effortless. It’s rare to meet someone who is both incredibly knowledgeable and truly friendly, but Melody embodies both. I left the conversation feeling confident, informed, and genuinely appreciated. She’s a star!
I am also very excited to have this opportunity online. Thank you for making this available!

Quickly Responsive and Understanding
A huge thank you to the Dog Academy team, especially Cary, who helped expedite the grading of the second submission of our exam. This allowed us to earn the certificate under a tight deadline for my dog to join me on my flight to clear out my grandparent's home, when my dog's support would be crucial. Thank you all! I'm so grateful.

I just joined Dog Academy & have my first private lesson soon. There was a misunderstanding and a representative reached out to me immediately and kindly corrected the issue. I was quite pleased with their effort to reach me and assured things were going a okay.

This program is very informative and provides great courses to successfully train your dog, whether it would be for basic training or service dog training. My service dog has learned so much through US service animals and Dog Academy. My dogs last mission is to complete the video sessions, and pass to graduate with her certified service dog certificate. I feel confident that she will pass, thanks to the training from Dog Academy.

After my one star review I was promptly contacted by the GM. He showed true concern and asked what he could do to rectify the problem. I asked for a full refund and that is exactly what I received. That is why I give the 5 star review.

I was looking for one on one trainer for my new 14 week old puppy. From the time I reached out to the company and interacted with John, who fully explained the benefits of the platinum package to my first session with Lisa, I have been very impressed with their professionalism, knowledge, and I am looking forward to our first lesson face-to-face next week with trainer Stevie. They all worked well with appointment appointments available within my busy schedule. They use positive reinforcement and non-punitive training and support throughout the whole life of my new fur baby. I have access some of the home training videos as well and they are very well done not too lengthy. My dog will be trained as a service dog once he meets the requirements and is six months old. Overall, the cost was very reasonable for the service that I will receive.

Won't stop calling me and leaving the same automated message again and again - every day!
Edit after reply from Dog Academy.
Either this response is a lie or is incompetence or maybe a bit of both - because I got yet another automated call from Dog Academy at 12:27PM EST. "Hi, this is Lisa with Dog Academy. We saw you were on our website and wanted to offer..."
I don't want to hear from you all again! Giving any personal information to this business was a mistake because you blood suckers won't leave me alone.

The course is taught in easy-to-understand training lessons. The structure of the course makes it easy to follow so that by the end of the course you have a thorough understanding on how to be a good handler.

I was disappointed that there was no video content in this course and that it did not go more in depth about the French Bulldog and caring for them.

The service representative I spoke with when setting up my account and getting started was incredible! I forgot his name though! I spoke with him on 4/23/26 starting at 11:45 am EST and he was so friendly and helpful, it made it so easy for decide to join! He really understood what I was needing for my beagle Pumpkin and was kind and really wanted to make sure he helped me as much as possible. I wish all customer service reps could be as awesome as him! I am so sorry I forgot his name!!

DogAcademy provided an excellent experience from start to finish. The training instructions were clear, easy to follow, and very effective. I really appreciated how everything was broken down step by step, which made it simple to stay consistent and see real progress. The staff and support were also very responsive and helpful whenever I had questions. What stood out most was how practical and positive their approach is—it really focuses on building a strong bond with your dog while teaching important skills. I’ve seen noticeable improvements in my dog’s behavior, and I feel much more confident as an owner. I would definitely recommend DogAcademy to anyone looking for reliable and well-structured dog training.
