Exceeded all expectations, top class service and bike
To say I am delighted is a massive understatement.. I sold my Dolan CDX last week for exceptional return on initial cost a few years ago as the bike was a little too big for me.
My first choice was a Dolan DR1 and after checking the website my size was not available which was very disappointing.
I then sent emails to 3 bike manufacturers to see how they could help me and advise on sizes / spec etc as I am relatively clueless being honest.
Apart from having superior quality products, Dolan have proven there exceptional customer service and extensive knowledge through my dealings, the other 2 manufacturers had sales people who knew very little about the products, or capabilities to advise on my requirements. I gleaned no confidence from their interactions. The advice and expertise offered from Stephen in the bike selection process was fantastic and his knowledge can only be described as expert. he discussed each aspect around size to handlebars/ gearing and tyres etc etc explaining in detail the implications of each option.
Not only have I got the correct bike for my requirements coming, but they also managed to pull out a Dolan DR1 in medium which I am absolutely delighted with. it reminds me of Christmas when I was a child.... they built the bike in super quick time and its being sent out straight away to IRELAND in time for my week off where I plan to really enjoy even with the covid restrictions..
the ultimate goal for any company is to delight the customer and exceed expectations as they will always come back and be sure to recommend.
I can honestly say that my loyalty to the brand has been sealed with this exceptional process that has given me a product that is exceptional quality and at a very competitive price.
as you can see I would 100% recommend that Dolan are the best bike manufacturers and dealers based on my experience of both the product historically and there terrific customer focused service and attention to detail.
Absolutely seamless online service
Absolutely seamless online service and support when purchasing a new Dolan L'Etape SL, and the bike arrived earlier than anticipated. What's been really impressive is the support from their staff, especially Stephen, when dealing with queries during the ordering process, getting the size and spec correct, and clarifying some last minute queries on delivery. One of the best examples of online buying I've experienced, all topped of by getting a quality bike too. Definitely buy with confidence from Dolan, their true value is more than the price of the bike.
Excellent bike and excellent service
Excellent bike and excellent service. Ordered online Sunday evening arrived Wednesday lunchtime. In a time where everybody is buying bikes and dogs I was expecting possibly I’d get it in time for Christmas! I emailed thinking the nuts from the front wheel were missing it was my mistake I just didn’t see them as they were wrapped carefully in a padded envelope. Even then I received a response within 10 minutes. Bike was expertly put together. What more can I say. Quality. Highly recommend.

So placed my order for the gxc gravel frame on 11/6/2020 , paid in full , their website said available in august , august came and went no emails or correspondence from Dolan bikes at all , I’ve sent about ten emails and rung their number it’s just keeps ringing out , Dolan bikes haven’t replied to any of my emails, so as it stands at the moment I’m £900 down and haven’t got a clue what is going on with my order !

The best place to purchase my first gravel bike from. The service is impeccable and so friendly I’m so pleased with my bike and the advice given at its purchase. We were that impressed we will be back for another in spring if next year. DOLAN are a great ride and a great quality.

6 week waiting and no contact
I’m sure when I get the bike I will be very happy but so far I have waited 6 weeks with no contact by way of a email and have made lots of phone calls. I did send a email today asking for a update and did not prior as I felt they need was not there they informed me when ordering a wait up to 4 weeks was possible and then when I chased them shortly after ordering that it could be up to 5 weeks. Ow this has come and gone I expected a email or for them to simply answer the phone or update the website with clear honest times. The website clearly states 20 working days for a standard frame which I have ordered. I completely understand but expect a simple email with a update or the honest facts on the website clearly stating there is issues and delivery could be up to 2 months. Instead the website gives false information to get orders in my opinion. I wait patiently for their reply and willing to wait further I already have a nice bike to ride and this is a upgrade but feel it may be a Christmas present to myself rather then a summer treat.
Beware
First of all, I ordered the gxt and was also told it would be 5 weeks which is fair enough due to covid. My frame was in stock so I assumed only assembly required. 5 weeks came by then no word from dolan. So after 5 days of waiting on replies I was told it would be delayed as not started build yet due to high volume of orders. I thought that's fair enough. I can understand. But seeing as I have payed the full amount I expect some sort of updates rather than having to constantly chase up. So anyway still no bike and yet again several emails to find out that all of a sudden my frame is no longer in stock and awaiting stock! Getting to be a bit of a joke. I'm several thousands of pounds down and no idea when I'll have anything to show for it!
Outstanding customer service
First off, there are delays at present across the entire cycling industry. Supply chains simply can't cope with the crazy demand due to COVID. That said, I ordered my new L'etape SL end of July, Dolan clearly stated that they will struggle to answer queries related to orders on the confirmation email. The suggested 30 day waiting period elapsed and I subsequently got a courtesy call from the friendly guys at the showroom, unfortunately my frame was delayed so they offered me an upgrade to the Rebus.
Bike arrived 6 weeks after ordering and it is absolutely stunning. You certainly get bang for your bucks with Dolan, to top this off their customer service and care is fantastic. Yes they are struggling to respond and appear to be swamped at the moment but in this world of 'I want it all and I want it now' people need to just be patient and realise that there is a pandemic on!

Mick, Matt and the team were first class, friendly and very helpful.
Bike is amazing, fast, light and beautifully made.
These guy's are the best and I would highly recommend.
Communication needs work
Initial experience with Dolan was very pleasant - website easy to use, bike configurator has plenty of options - order was smooth. Pre-sales communication was great - very helpful staff.
Post sales communication has been pretty terrible to be honest. I've now sent 4 emails over the course of 3 weeks that have gone unanswered. Even sent a few messages to their Facebook messenger that's been read but not responded to. I understand businesses are busy during the pandemic but I don't think it's too much to ask to respond to an email with a query about the order.
UPDATE:
Dolan got back to me this morning advising that they’ve been short staffed over the past weeks and will call me on Monday to discuss my order.
Extremely slow to respond to customers
Cancelled my order immediately after ordering, as the delivery date was pushed back 20 days compared to what their webpage stated. Order was cancelled quickly, but they still charged my credit card!
Three weeks later, they won't respond to calls or emails about giving me my money back.
Update: Dolan has gotten back to me, and I'm waiting for the refund now. I do understand that they are a small business and are of course extremely busy (as all bikeshops are these days, it seems!), and it seems to be an honest mistake due to vacations and COVID. Still not a great "customer" experience, though.
Definitely room for improvement
I ordered the Dolan DR1 and in the confirmation email I was told it would be dispatched within 15-20 working days. During this waiting period I emailed Dolan to enquire about the progress of the building of the bike as I was scheduled to do a charity bike ride. Unfortunately I was told that the bike would not be ready as it was scheduled to be built the following week which I fully understood (I was just too eager to receive the bike and get cycling). After a week had passed with no new updates and after the quoted 20 working day period, I emailed enquiring about an update. In the response I received I was told that the bike had not been built yet and was actually scheduled to be built the following week. I was also told I would receive an update the following Monday from the mechanics scheduled to build the bike. No update was given on the Monday and no response was sent to a further email I sent on Tuesday. I received the dispatch email on the Thursday to tell me the bike would be delivered Friday, finally. On receipt of the bike I quickly took to unpacking the box and building up the bike so I could get on it straight away. This was made difficult as Dolan had not put the pedals that I had purchased in the box, although the checklist for the bike that had been left in the box stated they were. I immediately called Dolan and was told that I should have been informed that the pedals I ordered were out of stock during the week. They offered to sent me a set that were a different brand but equivalent and by way of an apology some bottle cages and bottles. The pedals arrived the next day, in a box that seemed to have been ripped open previously with no paperwork or instructions (not that they were needed but more for warranty issues). One of the bottle cages that was sent was no longer attached to the packaging and was snapped so no longer usable.
I've now had the bike for over a week and I think it's great to ride on. If I were to be rating the bike only it would be 5 stars. The experiences of communicating with Dolan, then not receiving the complete order and a broken bottle cage as an apology are the reasons for the 3 star review.
Diabolical communication unsatisfactory delay.
Ordered Dolan GTX over 1 month - confirmation states 20-25 working days if parts etc not available you will be contacted ASAP regarding this. Today after a week of calls and no reply to my emails the bike isn't even started let alone finished and the frame is somewhere in Europe and not expected to arrive for another month. Led to beleive this was a UK based bike maker apparently not the case. Communication diabolical not prepared to be treated this badly I will be taking my custom elsewhere.
Received my new Dolan L'etape Friday…
Received my new Dolan L'etape Friday and am absolutely over the moon with it. The Bike arrived well packaged and perfectly set up and is a real pleasure to ride. The whole ordering process was smooth and straight forward and the guys at Dolan are extremely helpful. I was advised there would be a waiting time of 15 to 20 days from placing the order, my bike arrived on day 15 (try getting a new bike anywhere else in that time under current covid 19 conditions). Every aspect of purchasing my new Dolan L'tape has been positive and hassle free with this bonus of supporting a British company too.

Dolan Gravel Bike
I ordered a gravel bike from Dolan in May 2020. It's now approaching August and I still have no bike. I understand that Covid 19 has disrupted supply chains, however the lack of customer service has been appalling given they have debited my bank account. I have not had one email with an update, and when calling Dolan the date for frames/shipping is pushed back further each time.

Excellent bike (letape campagnolo), 4 week wait for bike but expected delays due to covid 19, delivered well packaged and only minimum setup required, great price can't find anything with this spec anywhere near these prices from a reputable bike store. Great service as I live to far from store to try out, they gave me excellent advice on ordering the correct size and components, all arrived and size suits me perfectly.
Interactions good, but waiting in the dark
Interaction I have had has been good. Website easy to follow and when spoken to, the customer service team are very good and helpful; they gave the option to the change seat post and wheels to other variants which were displayed as out of stock.
I have found that despite the delay to receive my new bike (due to covid) no communication has been had once placing the order and receiving order confirmation.
UPDATE:
I have waited for the bike now for over 3 weeks with no communication. No emails are answered promptly. Not overly impressed.
When Dolan got in touch, they explained the delay and were quick to compensate with some freebies chucked in.
