I had been having electrical issues with my Honda Jazz, having to leave it unlocked for a couple of nights! I contacted Conor - recommended by Groves Batteries in Tivoli. He picked my car up in the morning and by lunchtime had checked all the electrical parts, which were fine. He advised me that it was moisture getting in through the windscreen mainly, to buy a couple of reusable small dehumidifiers, and that would sort out the problem! It would also remove the awful damp smell in the car - win, win. He was very efficient and professional and I would recommend him to anyone who needs help with a puzzling problem 😊 Glenys

My local garage recommended Downshift for electrical repairs. I was delighted with the service I received professional, friendly and polite. Conor seemed determined to resolve the issue and thankfully for me he did. I have already recommended his services to others including a classic car club.

Conor was responsive, very clear and precise on the phone in diagnosing the car’s problem. His professionalism was excellent. And, importantly, he came out to my car (which had been recovered), saving me from having to get it towed somewhere else. He charged me what he said he would charge me, invoiced me promptly, did the job effectively, and I would highly recommend him.

Conor is always unfailing professional, polite and cost conscious and we wouldn’t trust anyone else with our family fleet.
He explains everything in language a layman can understand and always prepares a full quote before starting any work.
He also discusses a full timeline for non urgent work, giving full reassurance and peace of mind.

This is the Second time I have used Downshift, they certainly don’t disappoint. VW Camper T2 won’t start, tried two other firms which spent over 2 days looking for the fault but never solved although still charged at full rate.

Conor came first thing in the morning and was gone within 2 hours!! The camper is once again back To life stress free ready for the beautiful weather!

I couldn’t be happier with the service provided and i’m looking forward to breaking down again to give him a call!

Unfortunately my car started to smoke white/black smoke yesterday. Fortunately I managed to get it to a safe spot. There was an intense banging as well. In the last month I have called mechanic out several times believing car was safe to drive,and each time the cost has been excessive. Awaiting for a garage to verify if car can be saved. Very frightening experience as I thought car was going to catch fire!! I am in the process of discussing issue with The Ombudsman. Sadly upset and disappointed.

we contacted Downshift about a problem with an immobiliser, he drove nearly two hours to our workshop and we’re so happy that he did. He was very professional, had great knowledge and knew exactly what he was doing, he found the problem and sorted it out.

Connor quickly diagnosed and fixed my Landrover Discovery after the recent heavy rain played havoc with its electrics!
As this is the only car we have to tow our horses we needed to get back on the road asap and Connor went out of his way to come straight up and look at it.
I really liked the fact that he came to my house and I didn’t need to have the car recovered to a garage. He was professional and polite and explained everything he was doing clearly to a lady that really knows nothing about cars!
