If there was 0 stars I would put that. I booked 2 car seats and got confirmation for them. Reached the company we were meant to pick up the car from and they were not informed about the car seat s for our 7 months old babies. Complete shock! We had to go across to Oriocentre to PURCHASE our own car seats. Needless to say that we have been trying to contact them non stop for an immediate reimbursement of those purchases as it is their fault they didn’t communicate it to the car rental company. Absolutely shocking customer service (or lack there of). AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
If DoYouItaly reads this: call me back.

Used do you Italy to book a company called Surprice near Venice airport.
Absolutely dreadful company do not use.
The car we hired had bald tires which we didn’t realise on collection as it was dark.
I’ve used numerous rental companies this has been the worst.
3 people in at the same time as me both of the first two people were told the car they ordered wasn’t in stock so they had to pay for an upgrade. They were also told their insurance wasn’t valid and had to pay an additional cost which know most car rentals do try to push on you but it was above and beyond.
So no surprises when it was finally my turn after waiting 1.5 hrs for 2 people to get their cars…. You have booked a small car sir- I have 2 kids a wife and 3 suitcases no I didn’t book a small car- it should be a Vauxhall Astra. I was told I had to pay anyway which interested and the man Mir, did ‘upgrade’ me eventually although it still wasnt what we expected. I was then told I had tot pay £400 for insurance- the car hire was £196. I had a damage waiver through the company themselves online and excess insurance. I was told it was invalid and had to pay for the lesser insurance. Again I refused and he begrudgingly proceeded with the rental. Upon payment I was told as I hadn’t taken out insurance I had to pay £98 cleaning charge. I said I would clean it myself. This time Mir told me I had to pay it or he would cancel the rental. It was 1am and I had 2 kids with me so I paid this. When the car was brought around even in the dark it was covered in dust and had empty wrappers on the car seats so they obviously don’t clean the cars after renting them out. One of the belts wouldn’t CliP in the back, there was a thunder storm on the journey and the wipers didn’t wipe making the journey extremely dangerous. DO NOT USE
Since this review I have emailed do you Italy with no reply. Clearly don’t care

I booked a rental car through the DoYouItaly website for pickup at Catania Airport, Sicily. The reservation was confirmed and fully prepaid for €429.28.
On the day of pickup, our flight was slightly delayed. In addition, the time required to collect our luggage, the long walk to the car rental area, and the difficulty locating the Car Motion desk meant that we arrived only a short time after the scheduled pickup time. When we reached the desk, we were informed that our vehicle had already been assigned to other customers and that they could no longer provide the car we had reserved and paid for.
As a result, we were forced to rent another vehicle at a higher price, causing us unnecessary additional expenses.
What was even more disappointing was DoYouItaly's response. They simply stated that once the pickup time had passed, they could no longer guarantee the availability of the vehicle and suggested that we contact the airline regarding the flight delay. They completely failed to address the key issues:
• Why was the vehicle reserved under a fully paid booking assigned to other customers?
• Why did we never receive the complete booking documentation, the rental terms and conditions, or clear pickup instructions?
• Why was no confirmation email with the rental conditions ever sent? The website only displayed a booking reference on the screen and immediately charged our credit card.
As far as I could tell, the rental company did not suffer any loss, as the vehicle was assigned to other customers shortly afterward. However, we were left to bear the financial consequences.
I expected customer service that would investigate the issue and offer a fair solution. Instead, I received generic responses that ignored the main facts and failed to resolve the problem.
I would not use DoYouItaly again and, based on my experience, I strongly recommend that other travelers carefully consider alternative booking companies before making a reservation.
Update after the company's response:
Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, it simply repeats your standard policy without addressing the specific facts of my case.
The issue is not that I arrived after the scheduled pickup time. The issue is that I had a fully prepaid reservation and the vehicle was reassigned to other customers after only a relatively short delay caused by a flight delay, baggage collection, and the time required to reach the rental desk at Catania Airport.
Your response also states that the booking confirmation, voucher, rental terms, and collection information were automatically sent and remained accessible. This is incorrect. I never received any email containing the voucher, the rental conditions, or the pickup instructions. The only confirmation I received was a booking reference displayed on your website immediately after payment was processed.
Inviting me to contact the same email address that has already dismissed my complaint is not a solution. I already contacted your customer service and received only template responses that ignored the substance of my claim.

They steal your money and are completely unreliable. I booked a car for four days and then extended the booking by another day before the original drop-off time; I paid for everything, but when I went to pick it up, I was denied the rental because extensions couldn't be made within seven days of the scheduled return. Yet, DOYOUITALY.COM had offered me the rental and refused to cancel it or refund the money for the unfulfilled booking. To make matters worse, since it was a Saturday, their offices were closed and no one could help me. IT'S A SCAM—STAY AWAY FROM THEM AND BOOK WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

Do NOT trust DoYouItaly! This is an absolute nightmare and a financial scam.
I booked a car through their platform and went to the rental office exactly on time on June 21st. To my utter shock, the office was completely CLOSED and abandoned. There was no one there to hand over the car, leaving me stranded at the location.
I immediately tried to contact DoYouItaly’s customer service for urgent help, but it was completely useless. I have received nothing but automated robot responses with zero actual assistance or solutions.
It has been over a week, and they are still holding my money. No car was provided, no customer service helped, and up until today, I have received STILL NO REFUND.
They breached the contract, ruined my trip, and are now refusing to give my money back. I am currently escalating this fraud to my bank for a chargeback and filing a formal complaint with the European Consumer Centre (ECC).

Dear Pablo, your formal response is useless, the management has been and continues to be terrible, until you refund me your fee (€32.07). I will write what I think: "you do not recognize your apologies!

when picking up the car discovered that in small font was hidden the requirement to have Boarding Pass with me. What's the relationship of plane flight and car rental?
purely a scam to pump more money - i was charged about 90Euro extra.
Car was not clean and tank almost empty.
this is C-Rent
beware!

Easy to book and happy to take your money but don't expect any help if things go wrong. In my case the booked supplier had closed and I was directed to a supplier with whom I had a previous bad experience and vowed not to use again. DYI did not tell me in advance and even when emailed offered no help or support.

ORGANIZED SCAM! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! ❌
An absolute disgrace. Do You Italy happily accepts my debit card online to take my money. But once you arrive at the rental desk, they refuse it for the deposit, claiming they only accept "credit cards".
This is a well-oiled trap: you are taken hostage on the spot, forced to either pay for overpriced extra insurance or lose your booking and your money. If debit cards aren't accepted for the deposit, your system shouldn't accept them for the initial payment!
I expressly demand that a manager or a member of the Do You Italy staff contact me IMMEDIATELY to arrange a full refund. These deceptive business practices are completely unacceptable.
Until I am contacted and refunded, this review will stay online to warn as many travelers as possible across all social media and review platforms.

Your site is not ok ., after I have paid deposit I received email from you with extra Money , as a depozit £800 and only from credit card .,
Before going to pay should state clearly that you Must have a credit card.
I don’t have a credit card and not intend to get one just to rent a vehicle when are so many companies doing that without credit card ,
I am not intending to give you a bad review , but to consider having a proper description on your main Add ,
Some people don’t intend to have a credit card.
Kind regards
Nicolae

This company are thieves and scammers. I booked a car with them, but because I only had a debit card and not a credit card, they stole my money and refused to give me a car, leaving me stranded at the airport. I understand that I should have had a credit card, but these people don't realise that good customer service and understanding go a long way. Do they not think I will return to Italy one day and will need to rent a car and they will be the LAST rental company I will consider? Thankfully, I got my money back through my bank, but that's not the point. Do not use this company. They are disgusting.
