Dr Francesco Lo Monaco is a London-based consultant cardiologist and the Founder & Medical Director of The National Heart Clinic on Harley Street since 2017. With close to three decades of clinical experience he graduated with honours from the University of Pavia School of Medicine in 1997 and completed specialist cardiology training at Istituto Policlinico San Donato in Milan. He later undertook a post-doctoral research fellowship in cardiovascular physiology at Harvard Medical School and New York Medical College. He holds GMC specialist registration in the UK and previously served as an Associate Specialist Cardiologist at West Middlesex University Hospital while also holding an academic post as Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College School of Medicine. His clinical focus spans cardiac imaging and preventative cardiology alongside the diagnosis and management of arrhythmia coronary artery disease heart failure and valvular heart disease. Dr Lo Monaco has received several international awards for his contribution to cardiology including Cardiologist of the Year and Physician of the Year at the 2025 Forttuna Global Excellence Awards in Dubai and the Global Cardiologist of the Year title at the 2025 Fluxx Conference in Doha. He has also published cardiovascular research including work on coronary vascular progenitor cells featured in PNAS. He is the author of Heart Saviour a book on preventive cardiology and continues to share heart-health education content online.
