Gets the job done, but read the small print
I needed my EU A2 drone licence, and after Google searching for providers, I saw Drone License EU was consistently at the top of the search list (albeit 'sponsored' results, so they're paying to show first, not always a red flag, but raises suspicions). The website claims to have "4.9/5 out of 2416+ reviews", though this cannot be verified as it isn't linked to anything. TrustPilot has 2 negative reviews (now 3), and there was nothing on Google.
When clicking on the A2 Course, the advertised price was €65, though this price went up when I came back to the website at a later stage, and then went up AGAIN when I returned for a 3rd time. Deleting my browser history, cookies and cache made the price return to the original €65, so I don't know if this site is dynamically adjusting the price based on user history, or if it was glitching, either way it was odd.
The website advertises "Unlimited free resits" on their courses, but as soon as I purchased the course, I was greeted with a notification that I only had access to the course for 30 days, and if I required additional time, I would need to pay more. I was then offered a discount to buy more days beyond the 30 day period, at a 'special discounted rate' and a countdown timer to avail of the promotion, so essentially high pressure sales tactics. This could catch you out if you don't know that the course and exam can be completed in 1 day.
This information is on their website, it's just easily missed as you have to go searching to see the terms, which feels misleading.
Next up is the course itself, there's no videos from real people, just powerpoint style slides with text that's been translated to English from Google, which is sometimes hit and miss and feels lazy. The course is doable but it's a no frills, sterile experience with a UI that is not user friendly. I've completed the A2 Cert in the UK from a leading provider and it doesn't compare. That said, it gets the job done, if you're willing to put up with the limitations.
Next surprise was an €20 fee to get my A2 cert after completing the exam. This fee is advertised on their website, but you have to scroll down to see it, the advertised price at the top in big bold numbers is NOT the final price, so it feels like they're deliberately trying to give customers the impression of a lower price than what it actually is to secure the sale.
The only positive is that the course does provide you with a legitimate drone certificate, so it's not a scam, but it does appear to employ deliberately misleading sales tactics to squeeze your wallet. When I raised these concerns with customer care, they basically said that they don't agree with me and closed the door. Lovely customer service. Would not recommend.
