I don’t usually write reviews, but this one feels incredibly important to share.

Back in July 2022, I was fortunate enough to meet the most amazing surgeon, Dr. Tamer. From the moment I met him, I knew I was in the very best hands. He doesn’t just feel like a doctor – he feels like family.

I had a sleeve under his expert care, and while my journey has been slower than some, I’m now 3 years post-op and 7 stone lighter. More than the number on the scales, my health and quality of life have transformed. I can walk with ease, take the stairs without thinking, go to the gym, and, most importantly, play and keep up with my granddaughter – and now, with my brand-new baby granddaughter too. Those moments are absolutely priceless, and I owe them to Dr. Tamer.

For me, he is nothing short of a king. He has changed my life in ways I could never have imagined.

Fast forward to today – I’m now 5 months post extended tummy tuck and breast reduction booked via Dr. Tamer and his wonderful colleagues at Elite Hospital in Alexandria. I’ll admit, this recovery has been tougher than the sleeve, but I already feel amazing and couldn’t be happier with my decision.

I had a Bikini Sleeve with Dr. Tamer in November 2023, and I honestly cannot recommend him enough! This experience has been absolutely life-changing — not just physically, but mentally too. I couldn’t be happier with my results.

From the moment I booked my surgery and landed in Egypt, I was supported every single step of the way. I never once felt alone. The patient coordinators, hospital staff, doctors, and nurses were all incredible — they truly go above and beyond for you. Even the drivers and the overall service made me feel comfortable, safe, and completely looked after.

But the most important part — the surgery itself. Dr. Tamer is a highly skilled, compassionate surgeon who has genuinely changed my life for the better. I chose the Bikini Sleeve, and within just a few weeks, my scars were virtually invisible! Which is such an important factor to me. Now several years post opp I can’t see any scars!!

My name is Raymond Shawky, an agricultural engineer. I had a traditional sleeve gastrectomy on September 3, 2024, with Dr. Tamer Abdel Baqi. During and immediately after the operation, there were no complications. On the contrary, it was very easy. With continuous follow-up by him personally and the follow-up team over the course of a year, I was able to lose more than forty kilograms of my excess weight. I’m a registered nurse myself so was mindful of EVERYTHING and would do it again in a heart beat.

I can’t recommend Dr Tamer enough!
I am now coming up to 3 years post sleeve surgery and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
From the minute I booked my surgery and then landed in Egypt I had my hand held every step of the way.
The hospital staff are just amazing as are the guys who drove me around, they literally can’t do enough for you!
But the most important part, the actual surgery! I opted for a bikini sleeve and honestly within 4 weeks, my scars were virtually invisible!
When I came to after the op, I had zero pain other than a bit of an ache in my shoulder (due to gas I believe) and I walked the corridors of the hospital and can honestly say the day after, I felt brand new!
Because of a blip on my behalf I flew home late Saturday night after surgery on the Thursday (confusion with early AM flights) but was absolutely great!
I was back at work as a hair replacement specialist on the Tuesday!!
I lost a stone within the first week and can honestly say, I’ve never had more energy, I was expecting to feel tired and lethargic but no way!!
Going forward I learnt a couple of lessons 😂and you only make those mistakes once!

If you’re full, STOP!! Unless it can be unpleasant! Trust me!

The main point here is that, I have friends who have had surgery in other countries (mainly turkey) at a similar time to me, and they are back at their original weight, I don’t know why this happens but my sleeve keeps me on the straight and narrow and has never failed atall!
Of course I have a cheeky mars bar habit, but now it’s a mini once a week cos that’s all i can manage!

3 years on, and the wonderful Dr Tamer still answers any queries that I have within 24 hours, which is just amazing! You would not get that in the uk even at extortionate prices!!
If you’re sitting on the fence, go for it, but go to Dr T because the man is the absolute best xx

I had gastric sleeve March 2025 i originally booked turkey but when I spoke to people Dr Tamer is the one every one spoke about so I booked in Egypt with him! Best choice I made he is caring, lovely, makes you feel comfortable and takes all those worries away! Once you’ve made the decision to get Bariatric surgery, it can be very daunting if you want to go abroad to get it done because it’s so much cheaper than privately in the UK. I did my research. Not only does Dr Tamer have an excellent record and testimonials but he is GMC registered in the UK and world renowned for his work. I went to Egypt alone to get my surgery, and himself and his staff helped make it so much calmer and easier for me throughout the whole process. I’m three years out from my surgery now, I lost over 7 stone and have kept it off. My life has completely changed, I’m confident and happy and never even think about how I look, what to wear or eat. That means so much when I spent all of my life worrying what I looked like, what I could wear to hide and being on constant stupid diets. I just am me. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself.

Not only have I lost 9st, ive also massively changed my BMI, from morbidly obese to healthy in 42 weeks, which puts a smile on my face everytime I think about it.

I have fibromyalgia, hEds, bilateral hip trochanteric bursitis, kienbocks disease, POTs syndrome plus a few other bits, before I was sleeved my mobility was extremely poor, to the point I left the house in a mobility scooter, I took alot of heavy meds. I spent every other week in bed with a pain or Pots flares, rarely left the house due to pain.

As I said I was sleeved Sept 2024, ive taken one of my main meds for pain a dozen times since, whereas before it was 3 times daily, my mobility has massively improved & only had a handful of fares, i would call that a RESULT 😍
