Excellent customer service

Having lost a little rubber roof bar protector in my garage, I phoned up DST. I spoke to the very helpful Melissa.
And she popped two in the post for me

Roof rail and bars

After having trouble paying by PayPal I rang customer services a very nice lady ordered it over the phone for me.
The roof rail and bars came in 3 days very quick delivery.
The rails where very easy to fit,I'm hoping to put my roof box on shortly. I would recommend this to anyone who's looking for theses items my friend will be ordering from her too.

Amazing customer service

Great company to deal with and their customer service is second to non, with fast replies and immediate resolutions.

I ordered roof bars from DST good quality from the packaging to the direct product it's self, how ever I noticed an issue with one of my bars not being long enough for my car. A quick email and this was resolved with them sending me out a slightly longer bar.

I would highly recommend

Ordered a roof rack of these guys two days before the new year , paid next day delivery but didn’t turn up next day due to time of the year , emailed them couple of days later , quick response with the cost of my delivery refunded without asking , great customer service and would defo use these guys again

Please avoid this company at all costs

Please avoid this company at all costs. I purchased one of their auto roll tops for my truck, and wish I never had. The roll top cost over £1,000 and the quality was terrible. The instructions were wrong, it looks like a "seconds" item when it arrived, bolts were missing, batteries were missing.

Then, after I did manage to install, the roll top broke on the very first use. After endless calls, emails and messages, DST put the blame on me for "breaking" the item on first use and refused to return. I have since had to raise a complaint via my bank to try and get the money back

I also tried to return another unopened item to them, which they agreed. However, after 10 days, their item still hasn't been collected, meaning I won't get the money back from that one either.

Absolutely terrible customer service and no customer should be treated like they have treated me.

We're so sorry, but if an item has been damaged by the customer, we cannot accept a return. As for the other items, we happily arranged a return, and the delay is simply due to the busy time of year that couriers face. Once the items are back, we will gladly return them and process any refund needed.

Absolutely awful bought two pairs of…

Absolutely awful bought two pairs of side steps for bmw x 4 and they both arrived faulty they took them back but won’t refund you they are overpriced crap there are better sellers out there had a mechanic come out twice now to fit them and he said what rubbish they are all bent up don’t fit
So I will go to BMW now you get what you pay for

Superb After Sales Support

Have used DST only once, but superb sales experience, a really efficient sales process, and speedy dispatch.
I had a problem with one of the parts of my original order after 1st use, and within 10 mins of sending a customer support email...all resolved and a new part sent out - Thank you Katrina!

Ordered the wrong item by mistake so…

Ordered the wrong item by mistake so came down to exchange it for the correct one.
The entire process was extremely easy and hasslefree.
Spoke to a lovely man who was extremely helpful.
As well as a lovely woman who was also extremely helpful.
Will definitely be using these again and I can gladly say that the experience they provided me with was unmatched.

Roof bars

Check out was painful

Using the website to purchase roof racks was incredibly stressful. It took an inordinate amount of time to try and purchase the roof racks and kept saying 'the merchant requires a shipping address...'. I shop online frequently and this was not a user friendly experience, if these hadn't been the exact ones that I needed to buy I would have bought elsewhere just because the checking out process (website communicating with paypal) was frustrating.

DST AUTOMOTIVE Bent Roof Bars

Apparently the roof cross bars are designed to be bent like a banana.
I dont think any roof racks should be curved. What do you think?
So if you intend putting plasterboard or anything that needs to be flat, buy a reputable brand.
I have looked at hundreds of other roof racks from other companies, all flat.
Loads of other complains about the same but were sent out straighter ones as a replacement. I was told they were all bent to follow the contour of the van roof. Even though the roof is almost flat.
One is 80mm out of true the other 40/50mm out, so they aren't even consistent.
The design isnt good. The base of the roof rails sit on ridges in the roof. 100% not water proof, other than the sealant supplied.
One roof rail was out of straight of about 80mm. I had the put the 2 back bolts on and bend the front, so I could fit the front bolt . Luckily the holes had massive slots to cover it.
One of the cross bars was very very tight and had to force in place. The other very slack, so guessing not as strong.
I think I will run over them with the van to flatten them. No use to me bent and cant be bothered taking them off, finding packaging. Paying postage to not be refunded it.
AVOID

I did send you images of bent bars. You said you would find some straighter ones. Didn't get back to me so contacted you again.
Answer, they are all bent and come that way

Good in terms of communication but would avoid in the future

Bought a product and chose to return it and get a refund. Had to pay £50 to send my parcel back with a curiour service and then they didn’t refund my shipping that I paid on the original order. Although they were very quick to reply on email to discuss the process and procedure with me I don’t think I’ll be using them again for this reason.
